“I want to unify” - so signs with no alphabet belts bro.
1. Sounds like he'll be able to keep his belts. It's a partnership, he's not totally under their banner.
2. He's been calling out Zurdo for a long time, Zurdo shows no interest and is about to fight Benavidez.
He's 40, he has no quality wins, and he's already gassed. He's a tomato can.
That doesn't contradict what I said. Are you gonna acknowledge that right hand?
I don't believe that literally the entire division is ducking him. I can believe it's hard to get unification fights done, but that's no excuse for fighting absolute no-hopers fight after fight after fight. Just because Ramirez is chasing Benavidez and Jack is tied up in WBC nonsense doesn't justify fighting guys like Squeao and Cinkara and Nyika and Massey.
I wouldn't call an undefeated fighter with a higher ko ratio than him a no hoper. Who else could he have fought who's available? Cieslak is the only one that comes to mind and he's not that good.
If his footwork is garbage how was he able to close the distance effectively and consistently? You don't know boxing if you think anybody has an easy night against him.
Its just getting your knuckles as close to the leather as possible.
Mike used to do it too..
Nah it's more than that, it's trying to push the padding away from the knuckles.
If you are even moderately learned in boxing you would know that padding your knuckles is beneficial to the puncher and less padding hurts the puncher more than the recipient. The reason I say this is because you make it sound like some sort of advantage.
I guess Panama Lewis doesn't know **** about boxing then.
...fighting Peter Quillin on June 2nd
Oh yeah that's right. He's on the undercard though...
Ricardo Torres, Clottey and Juan Urango
Had a tune up 5 months ago.
michael nunn

"Nunn is now inmate number 11772-030 at the United States Penitentiary (USP) in Leavenworth, Kansas. His scheduled release date is June 16, 2024."
Nationalistic rivalry is stupid, it's just something promoters use to make a lot of money.
That being said it's amazing that an island of 4 million people can compete with a country that has more than 100 million citizens...
It's called pride and it runs boxing. MMA is a fad that will die out...Most my white friends don't even care about it as much anymore and the ones that watch is always at a bar. Same thing we would have done MMA fight or not. Boxing will never die because of what u called stupid.
But why support a fighter just because he's from your country? Boxing was already one of the most popular sports in the world before that nationalistic pride bullshit, it doesn't need it. Fighting doesn't have any language or passport.
Thurman really made him self sound stupid in this interview. Mayweather can't be the best ever skillwise because he lays on the ropes and doesn't use his footwork as much now that he's older? Are you ****ing kidding me! So to be the best ever skill wise you need to be impervious to age?
Ok gotchya One Time :lol1:
Just another young fighter that thinks he's invincible and will be tamed by Mayweather.
Yeah I guess Ali ain't one of the best either.
I can, it was a perfectly timed counter cross over the hook.
Wasn't a counter, it was a left hook-right hand combination, Groves just happened to throw a left hook a split second after Froch threw his right hand. An attempted counter by Groves which backfired.
Reminded me of Pirog-Jacobs KO. Looks the guy is passed out and then tries to get up in the last second pretending to be okay.
Exactly, in most cases when a guy is out cold and his body is stiff, there's no need to count. Good stoppage.
Froch getting more aggressive around the half way point, now we'll see if Groves has made any improvement because Froch is gonna turn it up in the next 5/6 rounds.
Hearn and Froch want to fight Bika and Kessler again doe. As much as I hate the HBO commentators, they're right about GGG. The little mistakes Froch did today will definitely hurt him against GGG.
I would love to see Froch/Bika, I think that fight should have happened instead of Froch/Mack because Bika was available. Bika is a rough mother****a, Froch would meet his match in the roughhouse/dirty department.
Boxing is not just general hand combat, there are specific rules dating back to the Marquess of Queensberry.
But some fighters get away with borderline back hands when they flick the jab, Hearns did it.
In terms of comparing technique, you have to rate it in proportion to the fighter's weight
What does technique have to do with weight?
This is not true, when the phenomenon we are trying to analyse is strongly and inextricably linked with the environmental and innate attributes, like the skill is. It is build on physique (on these innate attributes), so we cannot leave physique out of the picture and compare skill manifested from meaningfully different physique
Skill has nothing to do with physical attribute. You guys say dumb things in a very sophisticated manner.
Why not just beat Golovkin as well?
Cause it ain't gonna happen. :boxing:
I had it 5-2 Groves after 7. Now I hear talk from the brittish studio that they had Froch ahead? :dunno: What did you guys have it before the KO?
Had Groves ahead too, Jim Watt has to be on crack.
