everyone is copying jmm 1 or morales 1, where morales copied some of what jmm did.
Not counter punching because of jmm 4 ko. It's how u beat pac since 2004.
The big dudes like delahoya, hatton, cotto, marg just didn't do it because they thought lil pac was too small to worry about.
Pac is a coaster now.
If you fight him in 1st gear, he'll fight 2nd gear.
If you rush him and go all out, pac will go match you.
Ppl need to realize this.
Older pac guns it when u gun for him.
If u try to box and be conservative, pac will coast.
The last time we saw ferocious pac was when jmm dropped him and pac went all out, getting ktfo in the process.
rios isn't a journeyman.
top 10 level guys ain't a journeyman.
though not sure rios is a 147 guy.
he was a top 135 even maybe top 140 guy though.
he is a tough dude. rios probably give last week's khan hell.
think about it.
tougher, stronger than algieri.
much better pressure fighter than algieri.
pac couldn't drop rios but dropped algieri 6 times who khan couldn't.
how good is brook speed/boxing skill?
havent seen much of him.
khan problem is tough dudes that come at him and won't let him box comfortably.
brook is a big, strong guy.
Rumor has it that he weighed 149 and Pacquiao was 152 on fight night, bút it's nothing official. Before the Cotto fight Floyd weighed in at 151 and he came to the fight at 149 or something, against Canelo and Dela Hoya it was also similar, he never weighed in above 151 and on the unofficial scales he never weighed more than 149-150.
He cut a couple of pounds for Pacquiao to have weight advantage, but I don't know if Pacquiao was really heavier than him on fight night or not. The man's metabolism is unbelievable, he weighed 150.5 30 days before the fight.
pac jumps on fight night with clothes, shoes and stuff.
floyd 149?
you don't take rehydration pellets because you cut 3 lbs.
Would love to see that rematch at 156-157, first fight was very good, Miguel Cotto is one hell of a fighter and he made the right adjustments, he even gave Floyd angles and landed some jabs left hooks in the middle of the ring and stuff, would like to see it cuz Cotto will have a significant size advantage and he's training with Roach. Based on how sharp Floyd was in the Pacquiao fight I'd say it's a 60-40 fight for Floyd, but If Floyd would've fought Cotto in May instead of Pacquiao I would've had it 50-50.
Floyd's size disadvantage will make a big difference, he never weighed more than 151, but I still think he's still sharp and elusive enough to pull it off, also in the first fight he hurt Cotto a couple of times, so it would be very interesting.
floyd is more than 151.
he was taking REHYDRATION stuff post weigh in.
so he cut some weight.
Yeah but how many ppl jumped ship to the clits when the Lakers started losing... not saying they don't have millions of fans anymore but how many fans did they lose? But with Pacquiao it seems like all his fans still stayed...
lakers didn't lose laker fans.
they lost bandwagon fans.
im from la. clips didn't gain much fans. just casuals.
most because clips tickets are cheap.
LAKERS post game/pre game shows still had higher tv ratings than actual live clips games in LA ratings.
It's crazy how Pacquiao, win or lose, is loved by so many... great video btw...
that's how its suppose to be.
who stops cheering for a guy because he lost?
bandwagon fans do that not real fans.
you know ppl think floyd outpointing pac or jmm koing pac is embarrassing.
no.
the embarassment comes next year. maybe 2 years.
pac will be uncompetitive against a young star and totally schooled. maybe terrance crawford.
maybe get beaten up by a dude totally not in his class like a jessie vargas.
it won't be pretty, it'll be sad, it'll be embarrassing but i will be watching.
it'll be ali-holmes. it'll be kostya-hatton quit on your stool type.
or tyson-danny williams. roy jones-tarver 2 knockout type.
if he's lucky he'll get beaten but rob a guy like foreman-schultz and he'll retire.
Are Haitians black?
majority are.
i think most of the caribbean is black except cuba.
cuba is more white/native mix.
jamaica, haiti, dominican.... majority black.
The fact that an algieri v provo fight at 140 determined the next opponent for the 147 lb WBO champ should make you vomit.
Yes, he showed well against Khan, but he only got the khan fight because he lacked punching power and had a high profile loss to Manny. That should be vomit inducing as well.
ALgieiri is now 0-2 at ww. That any top 15 ww would fight him should also be vomit inducing.
why?
140 champ vs 147 champ
solid to me
especially after same guy just gave another top 147 a tough time
Of course he get the fight he want, he white. Dude is a bum. Brothas gotta earn they way and they stay gettin ufcked over by the racesis ass judges and refs.
stupid alt crying about algieri when he has lame hypejob adrien broner avatar.
because being slick is the best boxing style. even if you aren't landing the better punches you can still win rounds based on other stuff like: controlling the fight, controlling the pace, defense(clinching, bending below the waist) fighting your fight, outboxing your opponent, etc...boxing isn't about who lands punches it s about performance art!
floyd gets tagged to face, then gets hit by several clear body punches.
floyd shakes his head.
lampley/roy - "MASTERFUL DEFENSE BY FLOYD."
Agapito Sanchez is of mixed race, meaning he could be black definitely, and other races. But Dominican Republic is a Hispanic country, we are known to be mostly mixed race, not one particular race. I'm white skinned, it doesn't mean i'm white.
hispanic is more cultural than race.
its for spanish influenced countries.
so floyd is not black he's american? us is a mixed country too.
alreiri will become a gatekeeper in time. he's got a decent style for fans, isnt a danger to hurt your fighter, and he'll lose to top guys. he's also good at selling fights.
he's like a new paulie malignaggi.
not much pop but has some name recog and good enough to beat non elite guys.
TS getting owned ha
Oscar was the money man but he fought there twice and went back down. Cotto is holding th belt hostage and asking for a fawking CW against Gaele for fawks sake
was sturm at CW?
i remember oscar looking fat sturm fight.
stupid post!!...Calzaghe won a SD against BHop on US soil....many feel like Hop won that fight...so where was the benefit of doubt there bro?
bhop lose that fight clearly. bhop was faking lowblows to get a breather for crying out loud.
He gets fights because he lacks punching power and doesn't have enough experience to be a threat to beat any of the top fighters. No more, no less.
yeah but he had to beat taylor to get ruslan and beat ruslan to get pac.
his solid showing vs khan't also got him some future fights.
now ppl who wants to show up khan't will fight algieri too.
i can see thurman or brook koing fight algieri just to show they're better than khan't.
That any top 15 ww would fight him should also be vomit inducing.
well stick something down your throat
he'll get another top 147 guy again
Oscar said he was in the best shape of his life for the Manny fight as well..and Manny and Roach said they were going to ko Floyd and it was a easier fight then Oscar...
that was PREFIGHT.
post fight stories changed.
lalonde has said the weight wasn't a problem.
He deserved the nod against Bradley, but if you think he deserved the nod against Floyd you're retarded. It was a shameful and pathetic performance from Pacquiao. There isn't even a point to a rematch because Pacquiao simply lacks the intelligence, physical tools and skills to beat Floyd.
for a guy with a bum shoulder, smaller, shorter, dumber, less technical.
floyd sure didn't overwhelm with his SUPERIOR boxing skills.
you know ppl like to compare pac-cotto to this.
1. cotto was pacs 1st real fight at 147. pac previous fight was 140.
cotto already got his catchweight MW fight when he fought martinez.
2. pac defended his 147 belt with no cw. clottey, mosley, bradley, etc. were all 147.
pac's cw WW fights were with jmm who is not a WW and algieri who was a 140 fighter.
Wouldn't be hard to do. Algieri continually tried to walk down Khan because he knew Khan couldn't hurt him. Algieri would be much more wary of thurman or brook's power.
Kid has done good for himself despite all the jokes.
he's a solid fighter
very good technically? no.
but he's a good fighter.
i want to see him in chris byrd type fights. i.e. stronger but slower opponents.
byrd wasn't my type of fighter but i liked him. no power guys fighting power guys are fascinating to me.
i believe deep down hardcore fans of floyd was disapponted with his performance against pac whom hes supposed to gattii
height advantage? check
reach advantage ? check
slow pace? check
long range? check
hometown venue? check
american judges? check
mayweather partial ref? check
boxing match not slugfest? check
every advantage Floyd or his fans wanted it was there.
Floyd barely edged out rounds vs. dumb, small, crude Pacquiao.
Manny said Clottey was the hardest hitter he faced and was visibly banged up by him. But the judges handed it to Manny. Clottey inflicted more damage than Bradley did but it was Bradley who got the decision. Stop playing the race card.
oh so now its not good to play race/nationality card?
sorry.
didn't realize asians/filipino had no race card privileges.
This has to be one of the weakest resumes I've seen for a guy that got the chance to fight against Pacquiao and Khan.
http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?cat=boxer&human_id=449201
What is behind him? is he any good or is he a good looking sellable man from the US that is protected by some people wanting to make a business out of him?
Or is he a future top5 WW?
let me explain.
emmanuel taylor was a good prospect with extensive amateur background.
some ppl thought he was good.
algieri beat him. that put algieri on the map.
provodnikov a 140 champ and top 5-10 140 guy gives algieri a shot.
algieri beats him.
now algieri is a 140 champ and a top 5 140 guy.
provodnikov-pacquiao was in discussion pre-algieri loss.
so pac fights algieri.
khan then fights algieri because algieri has name recognition from pac fight.
simple.
BS Tua. A champ moves up to the next division for a title shot after defending his title a few times. That wasn't a solid matchup. especially with all the available 147lbers out there, many of whom are significantly better than Algieri.
He might get another fight at WW with a top 15 guy but that illustrates one of the main problems with the sport right now IMO.
A win over Algieiri at 147 means absolutely nothing.
whatever.
everything with you is pac related. at least try to hide it.
algieri put on a good effort last week. he deserves some more fights.
pac fight/pac credit is irrelevant to me.
