Wouldn't be hard to do. Algieri continually tried to walk down Khan because he knew Khan couldn't hurt him. Algieri would be much more wary of thurman or brook's power. Kid has done good for himself despite all the jokes. he's a solid fighter very good technically? no. but he's a good fighter. i want to see him in chris byrd type fights. i.e. stronger but slower opponents. byrd wasn't my type of fighter but i liked him. no power guys fighting power guys are fascinating to me.

It's because Porovodnikov was supposed to fight Pac in December but he lost to Algieri so Chris pretty much took Ruslan's Pacquiao fight away.

Algieri should fight Broner or Porter next. Algieri beats Broner easy so never expect that to happen. Porters aggressiveness may give him a chance but he is just so basic can see him being out boxed.

He got the Pac fight because he beat Provodnikov. Since Ruslan was being set up as a Pac opponent, beating him got Algieri the fight instead. No one except the fanatics liked it, and no one should have. Khan made more sense because Khan was looking for a guy who can't punch to look good against, and he wanted to outdo Pacquiao to land Mayweather. He's an idiot. Algieri is actually a solid fighter, and young. He could be pretty decent as he continues to improve.

It goes on the perceived level of opposition - Algieri beat Provodnikov and Provodnikov almost (arguably did) beat Bradley. Bradley officially beat Pacquiao (although most say he lost the fight). So Algieri beat the man, who arguably beat the man, who arguably beat The Man.

Hes a good fighter but he needs to beat a top guy to prove hes one of the best welterweights. His only impressive wins are taylor and provodnikov. He lost to khan and manny he was a top 5 guy at 140. he gave a top 5 147 khan a good fight. he's a top guy already just not elite.
