Boente was actually optimistic about a Haye fight at the end of last year and so he should be, more money for Vitali = more money for him. I think it's Vitali not wanting to risk a loss, the title gets him respect and popularity which helps his political career. He doesn't want to lose that. you simply a fool if you think that way

No, no, no. The FACT is that I'm not the one with the bias. I understand it was a difficult fight for both and I give both props for showing what they can do. Vitali coming in in such great shape was a major credit and Lewis coming in in such poor shape, comparatively, was not to his credit. The difference between me and guys like you though. You guys refuse, utterly refuse, to look at it from a straight ahead boxing perspective. "Vitali won because he was in front by one round when it got stopped." No, he lost. It's that simple. He didn't win. With that excuse, which gets brought up every time this fight gets mentioned, you'd have to excuse every fighter in history that lost a fight when his face got so smashed open that the fight had to be stopped. So, every fighter throughout boxing history that has punched his opponents face into a bloody pulp, but was one round down when the guy was TKO'd actually lost? This is the type of stuff that you guys throw out there. I argue this type of stuff whether it is for or against Klitschko. If Klistchko had won the same way and Lewis fans used this excuse I'd argue it just as fervently. He lost that fight fair and square but you guys refuse to take it as such. See, just like this guy above that I replied to. He didn't mention that Lewis also took the fight on 12 days or that Vitali had a fight scheduled and was in full training. You don't win a fight unless you hit the guy. You don't win a fight by TKO, with the opponents face annihilated, unless you're landing some serious shots. It doesn't happen by accident. Lewis is trying to actually do serious damage by punching his face. That's how the damage occurred. That's what boxing is about. If a cut occurs from a punch, that's because that's what the opponent is trying to do. They train their whole lives to land shots that break the face open, hurt the guy, knock him out, bruise his ribs, hurt his liver, cut his eyes, crack his chin. That's boxing. That's the point. You might as well as start arguing for anyone that lands a good body shot that happens to break a rib. He's not thinking "I'm going to deliberately break his rib with this shot" because that's not how you think. He is thinking "I'm going to do as much damage as possible with this shot" and that includes cracked ribs, bruised liver, sternum punch to take the breath...or if at the head, hit his temple to confuse his equilibrium, cut his eyes, break his nose, KHTFO out with a perfect chin shot....on and on and on. I think we'll have to agree to disagree on that last point though. If Marquez got his face busted up bad enough by Pac in his last fight, if he didn't score the KO first of course, and the doctor had to stop it because he couldn't breath properly and his face was too banged up, I would consider that a legit win. People overrated how well Vitali was doing. He was certainly winning, but it was only 4-2 in his favour really with Lewis having won the last two and coming on stronger. The younger, fresher fighter won the early rounds and Lewis was coming back when Vitali's face was simply too damaged to continue. I consider that a legit win. Byrd's 'win' over Vitali, I think of differently of course. An injury that Byrd didn't cause through his own punching means nothing. For instance, if the Chavez/Taylor fight got stopped earlier than it did because they realised Taylor was swallowing tons of his own blood and if Chavez had caused a worse cut, one that was worthy of a stoppage, I would absolutely agree with it, despite Taylor being up on the cards. If Golovkin, hypothetically of course, was losing on points in a closely contested fight to Rosado, but had done the same amount of facial damage that he'd done and it got stopped just like it did, I would consider that perfectly fine. It's professional boxing. There are many ways to win, and all are legit. It's a simplistic, brutal sport. If you manage to bust your opponents face open with a good punch then that's how it goes. You landed the punch. You deserve the win. If you didn't land it, you wouldn't win. That's a good opinion, and I respect that. Probably this has to be more personally, since I met Vitali and know he is a good man. Lewis' tune up opponent fell through, Vitali was in full training for a fight at the same time, so was even more well trained than Lewis as he was actually young and in his prime still, and had also been training to fight Lewis in the near future. It was actually Lewis that was most ill prepared for that fight....yet he still won by TKO in 6 rounds. Oldest, fattest, worst shape version of Lewis beat the best trained, fittest, most peak version of Vitali by TKO. Great fight though. just as biased as other posters. First of all is it Vitali's fault that he was prepared well, rather than Lewis being a current unified Champion and staying out of shape? The fight was exciting, neither went for KO. But that's because Haye was backing out always and did not try to through combinations. He went down 20 times, not fun watching that. I dont want him to retire, he should fight 3 times a year until he is like 35. he will be stupid if he is going to retire as a clown. so far he is a clown after all the words taht came from his mouth. And I believe that was his main reason not to engage, because Wlad could of catch him there. At least from that fight I can tell, that Wlad's defence is getting better. He actually blocked Hayes right hooks with his arm. Wlad is def. getting better.
