let any boxer earn his keep, whats wrong if a boxer is presented with the opportunity of a lifetime to earn the amount that awhile back he only dreamt of? theres a lot of morons in this board who thinks they know a lot about boxing. Lamont Peterson for one deserves the big fight and any boxer at that, they put their lives on the line in the pursuit of their dreams why deny them when theres opportunity just because some morons have their own opinions?? puck you all, let him fight whoever offers him the best if you do not like it shut the f u c k up nobody cares for your opinion ... and im not even mad at that, capish? nyahahahaha
Bang on the money.
Khans attitude disgusts me, the prick is so ****ing needlessly arrogant. Fact is he is more interested in his image, social networking and ****, he totally totally underestimated Peterson, almost disdainfully so and he got properly caught out.
Khan was on Sky Sports Ringside magazine programme a week after the fight and even the pundits on there said Khan probably lost a real close one with the pushing penalties....Incidently the annoying scottish guy as many of you call him who's name is Jim Watt was calling the push warnings all fight and wasnt surprised at all about both deductions, I had the feeling even the usually heavily biased Brits felt Peterson had done enough to maybe get a close one.
From where I sat I saw two guys breaking the code of sport and an incompetent ref.
It happens a lot nowadays across the sporting world. I see a lot of **** about "its a fight" and "protect yourself at all times" but it has rules and is monitored carefully, indeed the ref is one of these monitors.....you have this kind of thing in a sport. You can see "a fight" in any town center on any Saturday night, its usually a ridiculous skill less load of crap.
I saw a man who despite the odd bout of intriguing aggression was essentially getting beat, he resorted to desperation. The Ref intervened as Floyd held his head and looked totally bamboozled by Ortiz behavoir. The ref deducted a point, brought the fighters together......said lets go and turned away to acknowledge the commissioner as the fighters embraced a little then.....POW right in the kisser as Ortiz stepped back. The ref looks back in time to see a confused Ortiz take a second cheap shot a thudding sick straight right and drop like a sack of potatos.
I have one question.......what the **** was Cortez doing, why wasnt he looking at the fighters? Why didnt he check the commisioner before restarting the fight?
Two culprits one incompetent ref equalling a ruined fight.
Wrong. The point is that we know jack shit about Mayweather outside of what we see on TV. And what we see on TV, my friend, is "just for show". More times than not, you're not seeing the real guy on television. The "real" guy is behind the scenes, the guy that we don't get to see.
I guess I just thought this was common knowledge.
So what your basically saying is the guys a faker, put a camera in front of him and he turns into jester man, he aint true to his self.
For me id have much much more respect for the guy that just acts himself under any circumstances, not someone is a performing fool for the camera.
Well I kinda lost respect for him as a man years ago when he came to the ring wearing fur, but I also lost respect for him as a sportsman when he broiught baseless accusations of cheating to his potential opponent.
For me that was the final nail.
That's if Pacquiao mans up and finally takes the fight. But should he retire when he loses? There's no shame in losing to the P4P king tho. :boxing:
Should idiots be banned from boxing scene????

If you mean me...you spelt my name wrong
Good luck.
Lucky Dirrell was a green inexperienced fighter with about 19 fights under his belt hey, otherwise that horrible lungy Froch performance wouldve looked even more ugly.
The Hatton fans were the best. They stood by their dude but they actually could engage in a convo on other fighters and even the history of the sport.
Good old Brits hey :beerchug:
(Even though I called Mayweather and Pac to beat old Ricky):439:
Froch-Dirrell was close. Froch took 4 rounds, Dirrell took 4 rounds and the rest you can split. Sure, it was a hometown decision. I'm not disputing that - in Dirrell's backyard he would have got the nod. Doesn't change the fact Dirrell is A DISGRACE. Also, Dirrell had a RIGHTFUL point deducted for REFUSING TO FIGHT after at LEAST 10 SEPARATE WARNINGs.
Why is Dirrell a disgrace??, and if Dirrell can get a point deducted for being wily and not standing waiting for Froch's wild lunges why did Froch not get a point taken for cosistently holding and hitting, hitting behind the head and ridiculous body slams???
I like your little gif in your sig Slim, I notice it skillfully left out the lightning left counter shot Dirrell landed just before Froch wildly lunged across the ring at him :439:

LMAO, "That was a disaster, who put me in with that woman"
Well I felt Dirrell got a bunker, but I had to double check and in the end triple check because it was a close one, perhaps I am responsible of a style bias, and I do not dislike Froch.
The Kess fight I felt Froch gave away, I was suprised by his gameplan in that one, and a little disappointed because a Brit WBC champ doesnt happen often and Froch for some reason has had no coverage in the UK at all, which really is a sad indictment of our sports coverage over here. :nonono:
No, I re-watch all fights I comment on a lot. This one I have re-watched 4 times (God knows how - it's boring as hell), as recently as last week in fact.
For me, Froch and Dirrell clearly took 4 rounds each but after that you can toss a coin IMO.
I must admit I watched this back 3 times, twice on Showtimes coverage and once on ITV, Bernstein, Tarver made arguments both ways and Press row had a Froch split.
But I just cant ever go for someone who lunges, throws wild haymakers and doesnt land and wins fights on activity, like Calzaghe I think its dull and aweful to watch.
Agreed. Taylor was never dominating froch in that fight
Well it was hardly Mayweather v Mosley but I felt Taylor landed the cleaner shots.....well at least until he got banged out lol
nope, not one of you dared debunked the myths.
I win
Why would anyone bother?? The whole damn thing you posted was was BS, anyway you yourself here has just admitted that everything you posted was myth :dunce:
Shattered you say why did Press Row and pundits have it to Froch in the Dirrell fight but the ITV commentator here in the UK kept saying Froch was finding it very hard and having a difficult time in there and said himself the fight was getting away from Froch.
As for punchstats??? Never put any faith in them myself, stats can be abused by anyone.
i find it funny how its you who always red k's me
It doe'snt really matter though bud, it just shows that a lot of people out there when they see an alternative perception just react like bigots.
Thing is I admire your passion and obvious research into this Nottingham based dull boring lunger with no slickness but why???
I mean you know damn well that Dirrell wouldve had to kill the guy to win anyway as this Super 6 thing is a lesson in hometown buttering.
In my view you are arguing the exact points for Frochs defeat in Denmark as others are Dirrells case over Froch in England, so really is there an element of hypocrisy here??
I just personally think he was a little too limited, shot? that seems harsh, but I was in no doubt that Ruiz didnt have the skill set to worry Haye.
Needless to say i didnt pay 15 quid for it.
well it's true. america is owned in boxing right now. but hey we still have football. proper football where Mike Vick is king not that faggy **** you euros have with an actual round ball and kicking it.. haha
Yeah you know, "proper football" where hardly anyone actually uses their foot to move the ball in an entire match....you know "proper football" that only really the U.S cares about as opposed to faggy football with an ACTUAL round ball that the entire planet embraces.:booty:
He got Pac's number because he beat him in 1999 (I guess you were about 5 years old back then) at 112 pounds, in a fight where Pac won the first two rounds and got body shot and couldn't continue, where he was so skinny and drained that he decided to go up to super bantamweight.
You are a retard.
Great post, basically just killed this stupid thread.
I think he would.
Think about it....Hagler first of all had a hard time with Vito Antuofermo, and couldn't take the title from him the first time. Vito is a natural 147 or 154 pound fighter, much smaller than Hagler. I know, Marvin Hagler switched up styles after that fight, but if Hagler tried to brawl with Calzaghe he'd have an even harder time?
Also, Calzaghe is a much bigger sized fighter than Leonard, who beat Hagler too. Calzaghe is fast and he's very good defensively.
Of course your neglecting to take into consideration Calzaghes abject cowardice....he wouldve ran a mile from Hagler like he did everyone in his own time.
Cant believe some of the stuff Ive read in this thread about Calzaghe, **** like...he had a great chin...when he was dropped by a older Hopkins and shot Jones and Byron Mitchell (whom he totally lucked out against) he hasnt fought anyone of note at all, his whole career is a farce.
The record speaks for itself....Lacy, Bika, Manfredo (not a big win), Kessler, Hopkins, Jones
Look, guys he fought are still getting title shots!
Bika, Kessler, Hopkins....
The facts speak for themselves..
Lacy= Overrated inexperienced fighter also destroyed by a shot and old Roy Jones
Bika= Who?
Manfredo= Contender LOSER.
Kessler= Eurofighter, average at best
Hopkins= Past prime
Jones= Wayyy past prime.
also the fact that some of these guys are still title contenders tells me two things....
Calzaghe ran into retirement considering he is younger than both BHops and RJJ,
The quality of the division is no where near what it may have been
Hopkins against Calzaghe was not a robbery
Hopkisn was outlanded 2-to-1 accoridng to compubox
This thread is bull****, it was a total robbery, Compubox figures are about as representative of the actual fight dynamics as weather reports are of real life.
Many of the press row pundits had the fight to Hopkins as well as one of the judges so all the BS about Calzaghe schooling Hopkins is inferior garbage. Calzaghe looked like he had been in a fight after the match Hopkins didnt have a mark on him.
Calzaghe through arm and blocked slaps all night landing **** all if you actually watch the fight and not be convinced by meaningless numbers in a compubox stat fest. Hopkins was landing cute little shots on the inside all night clearly the judges wanted the younger man to win.
Finally Calzaghes whole career is bull****, he hid in Europe until the greats of his time were old and past their prime....in short Calzaghe was a skillless coward.
people go up and watch it, they have big screens plus there will be people watching the drive past etc, it will be the big headline story and media from around the world are gonna be staying. Not that im intrested im in Amsterdam that weekend.
Ill be taking a huge ****, Ill save it for the ceremony.
For me Wladimir is way too technical everytime for Haye, his HW resume is poor and he did all his major work at a dead Cruiserweight.
How on Earth is Haye going to get past that huge ram of a jab and sickeningly sharp straights? Everytime Haye tries to go in he will taste them.
