I would rather see Manny fight Floyd but I dont have a problem with him fighting Marquez. I say they each have a fight, and hopefully they both win convincingly. That will help rebuild the interest in the fight. Mayweather was saying he was gonna fight in Feb anyway, so if Pac fights Marquez around April, they can do the supper fight later in the year.
Robert Guerrero did call him out, and Guerrero is a southpaw.
I can't think of anyone for him to fight except Pac, or maybe Berto. I guess Khan if he wins, but other than that there is really no one left.
I want to seem them both fight someone else then fight each other at the end of next year. A little of the momentum has left this fight with Manny's last fight. I want them both coming off impressive wins that way no one can discredit their victory.
If Manny Pacquiao has any heart whatsoever anymore, he will run to Mayweather right now and take any tests he wants. After what happened this weekend, he has everything to prove and the only way he can get the boxing public to care is by making this fight happen.
Unfortunately, coming from a big fan of Manny Pacquiao, I think he lost his heart for the sport a while ago. He has just looked passive and awful even since the Clottey fight.
I agree he didn't look like he was interested in the fight. I think that he thought he was gonna easily win, and laid back a little then realized it wasn't gonna be easy. I thought it was a draw but could see Marquez winning it.
i CAN see floyd winnning but like i said, im so sick of his bullsh1t demands...he's like a fukken woman....a crazy woman at that....
I can see Mayweather winning easily, and I hate to say that because I haven't liked Mayweather since he became Money Mayweather. I still want to see the fight because you never know what can happen, I mean look at this fight for example.
When has Pac ever came close to making 147? Marquez weighed more than Pac for this fight even
I think they are about the same size. I was surprised when the showed the fight night weights. I think it's funny how people use this to try and discredit Manny.
watched it again. no sounds.
Pacquiao won 115-113. pac was landing more. could have been a draw though
I agree Pac was landing more, but I think a it was easier to score the round Marquez won. I think that is the reason a lot of people think he won the fight. The rounds i gave to Manny were close, but the ones Marquez won he won big.
people were expecting pacquiao to wipe the floor with jmm.
that obviously didn't happen that with the mexican crowd and the commentating made it as if marquez was whooping pac.
not the case.
I agree, everyone thought Manny was gonna steamroll him and it didnt happen, so people think Marquez was robbed. The truth is it was a close fight that could have gone either way.
I just rewatched it ans scored it a draw. I think it could have gone either way. I think the rounds Marquez won were clearer. When Marquez won rounds it was obvious that he won, not so much for Manny. The ones I gave to Manny were close and not as easy to score.
Maybe Marquez doesn't beat those guys but that's due to his size and not really having the athletic ability that Pacquiao has. Still, Marquez is a better fighter than Pacquiao and his skill set is greater.
Manny is the same size as Marquez. I think at fight time marquez weighed more than Manny. Even though Marquez could have won it doesn't mean he is the better overall fighter. Like I said styles make fights and Marquez just has the style to deal with Manny.
pacquiao is the aggressor, either landed more or had landed equal punches every round, and was defending his belt.
the rounds marquez won he won convincingly, was able to land the more eye catching blows, and was the huge underdog.
i thought pacquiao won after re watching it but got no problem to guys giving the fight to marquez or a draw.
it was close. those who say its a robbery needs to rewatch the fight
I agree. Even though this was close I still think Manny is the better fighter. I dont care what people say about the catch weights, the fact is Marquez would have lost against Cotto, and Margarito.
Not an impressive with by Pacquiao (compared to the last few wins), but still a win. As everyone knew, Pacquiao always had problem with Marquez's pinpoint counter punching accuracy. He even said so himself. You can see with the way he approached the fight. Very cautious first few rounds in a big departure from the first two fights. He got hit less this fight compared to the first two fights but wasn't able to hit Marquez of his game plan.
Marquez is one tough fighter. He got hit solid a few times and was never in a big trouble.
I agree Marquez was never in trouble and Pac landed a lot of straight lefts. I was surprised at how well he took those shots. I think that Marquez actually landed the harder shots.
In my mind, it seemed Marquez won.
That is, until I tally up the score card. Pac 115, JMM 113.
It's weird. But I can see why the judges scored it for Pacquiao. He's the title holder. If JMM wants the belt, he's gotta go in there and take it. Not back up and counter. Pac was willing to engage but JMM would back up.
It became more of a chess match than a fight.
I agree, I scored it a draw. When I was watching it though I felt that the rounds Marquez won her won big, but the rounds Pac won he just did enough to take.
Most of them are probably alts. But pactards are cult like, they will die defending their idol.
I am a huge Pac fan, but don't think he won. It was close, but I thought he won more than 3 rounds. I had round 1,3,6,10,11,12 for Pac. The rounds I scored for Marquez, I thought he won more convincingly, while the rounds pac won weren't easy to tell.
Marquez vs Pac's past opponents.
Even though I think the fight could have gone either way I still think Pac is the better fighter. Styles make fights. I don't think Marquez could have beaten the Cotto or Margarito Pac fought. I think Clottey would probably win as well. What are your thoughts?
Which Leonard fight?
Hearns and Barkley were both when Duran was way past his prime. Buchanan was a really good fighter, and Duran beat him, so I don't see how that proves he was overrated, if you can't see the skills in that fight I don't know what to tell you.
He won the fight with repeated low blows. I watched both the fights with SRL. I think that SRL had an off night that night to be honest. I was really thought that I was gonna be blown away with how much people talk about him. I'm not trying to downgrade any of his accomplishments, I just kinda expected to be in awe of his skills. When I look at the Mayweather Gatti fight I am blown away, when I look at Paquiao fights in the last few years I am blown away (except for the fight with Mosley, and Clottey) Maybe I just built him up to high in my head.
watch his entire career not "a couple of fights" then talk. Until then nobody cares what your uneducated opinion is.
And btw I can sell you his career set for fantastic price of $45.99. If not STFU
I watched his fight with Buchanan, SRL, Tommy Hearns, Iran Barkley. What fight should I watch that demonstrate his skills, and not his rough house tactics?
the first SRL obviously. SRL is one of the greatest fighters of all time and Duran was the first to do so and that was above his best weight of course. That certainly should tell you something.
Now I don't really care if you think floyd and/or pac beats him, just saying, his ATG status can't be argued. He was a great fighter.
I agree completely with you he cemented his legacy. I just feel like a lot of people tend to over hype past fighters as being unbeatable by any of today's fighters.
Damn if floyd doesnt fight manny oh fukking well move on ..support the young fighters, the other established fighters..life goes on..every damn day i log on its posters crying bout floyd,i go on facebook people all on floyds page crying...damn i wanted to see the fight as well but if he doesnt wanna fight fukk him, move on lets talk about actual fights that are happening and have happened...if floyd doesnt care for boxing then boxing shouldnt care for him right now......
You have a great point, I am gonna quit complaining about it. Maybe one day it will happen but there are some good up and coming fighter that deserve attention.
:lol1: Oh boy...
I could careless if he ever fights again all the guy does is run. I remember the first time I saw him, it was on HBO and after that fight I have never had any intrest in him. The sad thing is he has skill, to bad he thinks he on a track team.
