This is what happened earlier that year - you quote from
Sounds a lot like what happened when Ortiz was offered the Joshua fight and the chance to win 4 belts(!!!). Ortiz's team was proven to be lying after that. They are proven liars. Whyte turned that fight down because he got a low offer, Ortiz got a high one (but claimed it was low)
You're complaining about Whyte susposedly not fighting Ortiz. Why arent you complaining about Fury and Wilder not fighting Whyte?? Are you even a boxing fan? Whyte has done enough to earn a shot. Please list the great fighters Wilder beat before he got a chance to fight for the WBC title. I'd like to see this list
The point is - Whyte could go on fighting Rivas, Ortiz, Uysk whoever, but he will lose at some point - this is a sport. He deserves a shot now. If he loses - he won't get a shot.
It's funny how you quote Whyte when he called out Ortiz, yet you didn't quote Ortiz's response when he accepted Whyte's offer to fight in the UK at the 02:
After seeing the story on social media, Whyte tweeted at BoxingScene.com, saying “We can go Dec(ember) 22.”
“After much thought and consideration I accept your challenge. If you won’t come down to USA then I’ll step off the Wilder-Fury card and fly over to the UK and fight you in your own backyard,” Ortiz told BoxingScene.com in an interview translated from Spanish.
“Done deal. Enough talking that rubbish you speak. Send over the contract and I’m there. Now you’ve got yourself a real problem son. So now what are you gonna do?”
Yes, I am a boxing fan, and apparently, more of one than you because I'm sticking directly to ALL of the facts. Whereas you're obviously just cherrypicking only the details that suit your narrative, hence why you obviously only read the first paragraph of the article and ignored the rest. Just as you're bringing up the Ortiz/AJ situation, which had absolutely ZERO to do with Whyte vs Ortiz.
As for the other two examples you brought up, for one, I have HEAVILY criticized Fury for the crap he's pulled lately. Not just his refusal to take a fight with Whyte for the diamond belt that he requested, but also for him running from the Wilder rematch to fight bums on ESPN. All the while claiming that Wilder is afraid of him.
As for Wilder, I'm not criticizing him because he's shown that he's offered Whyte multiple chances to fight him, and Whyte has rejected them all. But since you wanna question me, where is your criticism of Fury avoiding the Wilder rematch to sign with ESPN and TR? And who the hell has Whyte fought to earn a shot against Wilder? The Parker fight wasn't sanctioned by the WBC, but by the WBA, so you have no ground to stand on there. Chisora (a career journeyman with 7 losses)? Lucas Browne (a guy who has no name recognition and was fighting guys with 20+ losses when he fought Whyte)? Helenius (a solid fighter who was domestic level at best, but hadn't done anything outside of that)?
And yet you have the nerve to criticize Wilder and go out of your way to IGNORE Whyte's clear ducking. Wilder doesn't owe him *****, and the WBC's own rules state that being the #1 contender doesn't make you a mandatory:
For the avoidance of doubt, the highest rated (or the highest rated available) boxer in the WBC rankings is never, solely by virtue of such position, the official mandatory challenger. source:https://wbcboxing.com/wbceng/Rules/WBCRulesandRegulationsJanuary2014.pdf pg. 13 sec. 3.7
But Wilder & the WBC are supposed to bow to the whims of a guy who thinks he can dictate to the CHAMP & the sanctioning body who he will and won't fight, all the while slinging insults and talking crap about the guys he's fought, guys he won't fight himself (Ortiz, Breazeale)?
The point is, Whyte has had numerous opportunities to really earn his shot at Wilder, and he's turned them down. If you're gonna continue to ignore that all, then shut up, because I don't care to hear the opinion of someone who refuses to acknowledge the facts.
