Former heavyweight champion Joseph Parker would jump on the opportunity to face Dillian Whyte in a high stakes rematch.

Parker will return to the ring on Saturday night, when he faces veteran Alex Leapai on the Demetrius Andrade-Maciej Sulecki bill in Providence.

Last year, Whyte and Parker fought in a very dramatic twelve round contest.

As they entered the championship rounds, Whyte was leading on the cards as he dropped Parker twice during the contest.

But Parker stepped on the gas in the eleventh, and nearly knocked Whyte out in the twelfth and final round. Whyte was down, seriously hurt and appeared to be one punch away from getting stopped - but time ran out.

Whyte has a fight of his own coming up. He takes on undefeated Oscar Rivas on July 20, at the O2 Arena in London.

"I would take Whyte in a heartbeat," Parker told Sky Sports. "I'm waiting for him to say yes.

"He's in the position where he's aiming to be champion of the world, so I respect that and I respect what he's trying to achieve, but listen, if no-one else is going to fight him, call me up. I'll fight you two, three, four times."

Parker recently signed a co-promotional deal with Eddie Hearn of Matchroom, and he also promotes Whyte.

And Parker's co-promoter, David Higgins, would love to see that contest go down - but he does not believe Whyte is very interested in facing Parker for a second time.

"Joseph would love to fight Whyte again," Higgins told Sky Sports. "Whyte calls out everyone, except for Joseph Parker.

"In fact, since Whyte beat Parker, I haven't once heard Whyte mention Joseph's name, which is odd for a guy that calls out everyone, including the taxi driver down the road. What does that tell you? Joseph would fight Whyte tomorrow, but Whyte has shown no sign of wanting a rematch.
