First, Percent is one word.
Second, competition matters. Butterbean scored a bunch of knockouts too. A fighter that has a ton of knockouts against champions is 10,000 percent better than a fighter that knocks out tomato cans.
It is important to remember that it is a Hall of FAME, not a Hall of Talent. I think Butterbean, Logan Paul, and Charlie Z are easily famous enough to make the cut. Put them in so the real boxing fans can completely stop caring.
I'm not a fan of constant rematches typically but in this instance what else is there for either guy really? Fisher is pretty much done after this and while Allen won what step up name could you put him in with and realistically not have him just get battered? I feel like even a past it Del Boy would beat the **** out of him.
Richard Torrez, Big Fraz, or Andy Ruiz would all be winnable fights for Allen now. He isn’t scared of stepping into a deeper level either. Let him test what Del Boy, Whyte, or even anyone named Fury has left.
Glad they decided to clean this up to make it less confusing. I wonder if the WBA has been involved in the Middle East peace negotiations over the past several decades.
I always find it funny that when people try to discredit Inoue they say Donaire was shot when they fought. Donaire was coming off of one of his best and most impressive wins. And after they fought, he had another of his best wins. Donaire is great, but Inoue beat him in an epic battle. Not recognizing that makes everything you say lose credibility.
I wish Usyk would just retire. He beat all the A players and now we are arguing which of the B players should get a shot. He already beat Dubois with ease and he is leading the pack.
Waste of time. Usyk beats this guy into submission and then rematches him because a few people don’t understand that you can’t uppercut someone’s sphincter. I won’t pay for this mismatch.
I hate this fight. Dubois deserves another shot even less than Fury deserves a third shot. No reason for it. Usyk dominated him the first time, and the only reason he is getting another shot is because some people don’t understand what a low blow is.
Wilder should fight guys like this. I don’t see him ever beating anyone in the top 10, but he never really has. But he should be allowed to fight on and beat a few bums. I would love to see him take on Ngannou.
I think Junto beats Inoue the first time they meet. He’s on a vision quest. The dude has wanted nothing but Inoue for a decade. He shouldn’t wait though. He should go to Manila and beat that loud mouthed nothing there just to get him out of both of their hairs.
I think Fulton is a special fighter. I would pick him over Foster and even Tank. The spanking he took against Inoue was among the greatest performances in history.
Filip is a much tougher opponent than Whyte. He was beating Dubois before the doctor stopped it for the cut. Joyce will always be dangerous, but I see Hrgovic working him to a late round retirement from the fight and the sport.
Best chin I have ever seen is Dominick Guinn. Most of the guys on this list were all-around great fighters that had many ways of protecting their chins. Guinn wasn’t; Guinn didn’t. He was a journeyman heavyweight with 52 fights and never put down.
The next 2 great heavyweights will be Lener Perez and Jai Opetaia. Perez is 6’5 and 14-0 with 14 koes. He will be a cruiser weight champion soon. And then he will chase Opetaia up to heavy where they will pass the belts back and forth for a decade.
This dude needs to go away. He wanted to act like a star without earning his stripes. Never was very good and the way he tried to pull out of the WBSS showed he was just another protected fighter scared of losing.
Inoue will never get the respect he deserves. He cleans out two of the best divisions in boxing and still gets people saying nonsense about his competition level due to fighters cancelling on him and him fighting the best opponent available on short notice. When he beat Narvaez in 2014 it was moving up 2 divisions and beating a guy with a better championship pedigree than BHop, and did it in 2 rounds. That win alone is better than any victory any active champion has. I’m not even an Inoue fan. I’m much more of a Nakatani fan, but denying Inoue’s greatness is just insane.
I think the drama of the big fight swayed these ratings. The main event was nowhere near as exciting as Smith vs Buatsi. That was an epic match and a clear front runner for fight of the year.
