OK, for some reason, this forum cuts off part of the link and replaces it with *****. It cut off ********** after GAR1680. So it's GAR1680********** after the slash.
Larry Holmes vs Tex Cobb
Before I answered the question for this thread, I searched to see if anyone got my answer, and here I found it.
Without a doubt, the worse one-sided massacre I ever saw was Larry Holmes vs. Randall Tex Cobb in 1982. I clearly remember Howard Cosell calling the fight and about midway through the fight began complaining loudly that he would never call a match again “if this fight isn’t stopped”. I remember Cobb’s face fully-bloodied round after round and Holmes never hesitating on his attack. That fight went the full 15 rounds, and Cosell, true to his word, retired from boxing following that bout. While it is true that Cobb has been at the top of the list in “Best Chins Ever” in history, the abuse he took that day was horrible, and the referee (and his corner) may be mostly to blame for not stopping it.
I think that’s smart on Rigo’s part. Why fight Donaire after a long layoff. It’s not Rigo’s fault his previously-scheduled fight was cancelled because his opponent had medical issues. Rigo is a great fighter, but going up against Donaire with some ring rust is not a good idea. Donaire-Rigo is on my wishlist for 2013 though.

Nice list. I just added (Followed) several of them.
As a general rule, I only follow reporters on Twitter if most of their tweets is boxing related.
I do follow almost every active boxer, regardless what they are tweeting about.
I don't have twitter, seems dumb
Honestly, these days I don’t know how anyone can be a huge boxing fan and follow boxing closely without having Twitter. On Twitter you are getting a continuous flow of information from the people directly involved in the sport. Boxers, boxing writers, trainers, promotional companies, boxing TV networks, and others. Sometimes getting bits of information that you normally don’t see anywhere else. For instance…
Several weeks ago I was watching the undercard for the Khan-Molina fight on TV and a tweet came across on Twitter from Khan saying: “Just left the hotel. Headed to the arena now.”
I don’t know why…but I found that so cool.
GAR1680 Boxing Talk on YouTube
Just search for it in YouTube search bar and go to the channel. This forum won't allow me to post the link.

This is what happens when I post the link on this forum:
https://www.youtube.com/user/GAR1680**********
Forum wipes out part of the link that has the words boxing talk (together) after the /GAR1680
If I write boxing talk together (**********), this is what happens.
Strange.
In answer to some of the questions that appeared here about Twitter and Facebook:
To me, Facebook is designed more for interacting with personal friends and dear family members. It’s not really made for people in the boxing world to share their lives with you. The “Feed” you get when you open Facebook is similar to Twitter, but on FB you only get feeds from “Friends” that accepted your request to add them. So how do you see, for instance, feeds from Floyd Mayweather Jr. on Facebook? You have to send him a request and he has to add you. Not likely.
On Twitter you can add him to your feed (by “following” him) without his approval and see his tweets in your feed. So you have a constant glimpse into the life of the person (or organization) you are “following” as they describe in their tweets what they are doing “at this moment”, often with pictures or a video link attached.
I know there are Facebook “Pages” that you can subscribe to, but I don’t think every boxer and others in boxing has a “Page”, and even if they do, I don’t think it’s updated with comments as often as Twitter.

The ONLY thing OFFICIAL right now (12/31/2012, 9:00AM EST) is this:
Saturday, May 4, 2013 - MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada
Saul Canelo Alvarez vs. TBA
Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. TBA
Nothing official (yet) with Guerrero.
Who in the world cares about seeing Mayweather-Pacquiao anymore? Why is this thread even here?
Now…Mayweather vs. Sergio Martinez. Maybe meet at a catch-weight between 154 and 160. That would be huge!!!
I missed this fight. Not sure if I want to catch it on YouTube. Burns got a broken jaw in the 2nd round and was knocked down twice and wins the fight??? What in the world?
I think Chavez Jr.’s conduct outside the ring should have eliminated him from mention in any type of awards for the year. He’s like a kid that still has a lot to learn.
So Guerrero beats a suspect Berto and now he's a super threat? Berto has been fundamentally wrong all his career and has came minutes within getting exposed many times before Ortiz then Ruiz so whats the big deal? The Floyd we see now coming down from 154 will KO Guerrero, you read it here!!!
If Guerrero is able to use the infighting style he used against Berto, and the ref allows it (instead of breaking them up throughout the fight), then Mayweather might have his hands full. That shoulder-roll won’t work for Floyd if Guerrero has his body against his—up against the ropes—and he’s banging away at the head and body continuously.
BHop needs to worry about Kovalev first and foremost. If that bout goes the distance, I see BHop getting the nod on points. If there's a knockout, it will be the Krusher standing over him. But BHop is a smart fighter and will surely avoid Kovalev's power punches. Look for a long, boring fight with BHop popping Kovalev just enough to get 10-9 rounds and doing a lot of Mayweather-type running.
Honestly, I don’t think Ward and Mayweather belong on the P4P list. Why? BECAUSE THEY DON’T FIGHT OFTEN ENOUGH! Both fought only once in 2012. How can you call someone the best fighter in the world when they fight once a year? (More-so in Floyd’s case, who hasn’t fought twice in a year since 2007 and skipped 2008 altogether). My next GAR1680 Boxing Talk Show will be about this subject and a run-down of our Top 10 Best Pound-for-Pound Fighters. You may want to catch that show by joining our UStream Channel (you can join/follow using your Facebook to be alerted about the show). Go here: GAR1680 BOXING TALK ON USTREAM - I’ll give you a hint: Right now I got Sergio Martinez at #1 and Nonito Donaire at #2.
Not sure if your story on Hyland vs. Noel Echevarria is correct. Three people at ringside reported to me that Noel turned around and quit in the 4th. Though maybe I like your story better than a "no mas"; not sure.

I see the story was edited to more correctly show what happened. Thank you.
Yes! This fight is on my wish-list for 2013. I always said it makes no sense for Canelo to fight the loser of the Cotto-Trout fight last year. I mean, really? W-T-H. He should be fighting the winner!
After reading this story, I thought "What?!!!" I had gallstones and had my gallbladder removed about 20 years ago. That doesn't kill people. This report DOES NOT tell you how he died. So I researched, and in an ESPN report it stated: "As it turned out, Henry had gallbladder cancer".
As a freelance journalist, I'd like to remind the writer of this story of the 5 Ws and H (who, what, where, when, why, and how).
The way this story is written, it makes it look like Henry died from gallstones being removed.
Matthysse-soto and Maidana-Karass were 2 of the best fights of the year in 2012. With Malignaggi in the mix, any combination of these fighters fighting should be exciting to see.
I would like to see a Garcia-Salido rematch. Who can be satisfied with a fight being stopped because of a broken nose? Salido appeared to be coming on stronger in the later rounds, so who knows what would have happened in the 11th or 12th?
I’m glad to see Joel Diaz Jr. got a mention. When I suggested Diaz to Dan Rafael on Twitter after he posted the question, he replied back that Diaz is not an “elite” prospect. I really like Bryant Jennings. Hoping he brings the heavyweight title back to America really soon.
This is horrible. I once attended a wedding where the Bride's aunt died in a car crash on the way there from out of town. The bride's mother (victim's sister) sat in front row crying loudly the whole time. That wedding should have been cancelled. My condolences to Amir and the family.
Why would a Mayweather-Cotto rematch be any different than the last time? Because Cotto beat an aging Martinez? Because he TKO'd a 28-6 Delvin Rodriguez? Remember Cotto also lost to Trout not too long ago. I'm NOT a Mayweather fan, but I'm not convinced Cotto has improved since the last time they fought. A rematch is surely another boring UD win for FM.
Was always one of my favorite fighters. But I am becoming more and more disappointed that he continues to fight instead of ending his career graciously.
