Okay I just watched Gatti vs Mayweather fight again and it was a complete one sided massacre and I got to thinking.
What was the worst massacre in boxing, where a fighter just uncorked the a$$ beating of a lifetime on another fighter? I’m not really talking about one punch knock outs but they also count. But id rather a complete and utter domination.

I wrote Buddy McGirt revived his career. Following the DLH fight Gatti went 6-1 before he met Floyd in the ring. Only losing to Micky Ward in the 2nd fight of their trilogy. So I would have to say that Gatti wasn't washed up at the time he fought Floyd. Just because you have a dislike for a boxer doesn't exactly mean you should unjustly attempt discredit his wins.
When a fighter is wash up and suffering from health related vision problem from traumatic brain injuries due to previous concussion his career isn't revived but of course when dealing with a Floydiot the IQ is in the single digits so I understand your persistent thinking that Floyd actually beat a prime Gatii
if he landed 1000 that would mean that around 685 of those punches were slaps/cuffs.............Rockin':boxing:
That mother****er slapped hard! Pimp like technique
Read what you wrote Gatti was done before the Delahoya fight. Look at Box Rec Gatti fought Delahoya 3-24 2001 he's done right but he fights Floyd on 6-25-2005 so if Gatti was done before he fought Delahoya what was he when he Fought Floyd pretty much close to being in a wheel chair, Go to Box rec.com and look at your pathetic mistake. I know my boxing kid I'm not some Gangster Thug Floydiot who talks out of there a$$

Rocky Marciano vs Don C0ckell (I think) is an amazing fight that I'm sure wouldn't have been allowed to continue as long as it did had taken place now.
And we've had two Chavez references thus far,yet no mention of the truly violent, systematic pasting of Edwin Rosario. He smothered and beat that man like he cussed out Chavez's mother.
Can you imagine how demoralizing it must be for a puncher like Rosario to realize that nothing you can throw can stop this man from immediately closing the distance and inflicting more damage upon you?
Larry Holmes vs Tex Cobb
Before I answered the question for this thread, I searched to see if anyone got my answer, and here I found it.
Without a doubt, the worse one-sided massacre I ever saw was Larry Holmes vs. Randall Tex Cobb in 1982. I clearly remember Howard Cosell calling the fight and about midway through the fight began complaining loudly that he would never call a match again “if this fight isn’t stopped”. I remember Cobb’s face fully-bloodied round after round and Holmes never hesitating on his attack. That fight went the full 15 rounds, and Cosell, true to his word, retired from boxing following that bout. While it is true that Cobb has been at the top of the list in “Best Chins Ever” in history, the abuse he took that day was horrible, and the referee (and his corner) may be mostly to blame for not stopping it.
Mayweather-Gatti
Mayweather-Corrales(RIP)
Marquez-Pacquiao(RIP) IV
Marquez vs pacquaio 4 was not a one sided beat massacre. It was a war with pacquaio getting knocked the **** out. One sided massacre is dominating every round then knocking them out like margarito vs shane.
Bobby Chacon beat the ever lovin' piss out of an incredibly game, durable Danny "Little Red" Lopez when they were both up-and-comers in the pro game.Lopez wrote the book on the art of damaging an opponents hand with your face, but the number of clean, flush right hands he took throughout the nine rounds was sickening.
Lopez absorbed more punishment in that fight than many fighters absorb in an entire career and really had no reason to ever recover from that, and yet he did and even went on to greater heights.
Nah..you just haven't enough boxing reading and absorption. You have to eat, drink, sleep and dream boxing for years to know what's what. These present day fancy lads are nothing really....when it comes to toughness.
Any fight that Joe Grim was in which he lost, (and that's all but a single handful) was a massacre. He'd be down 5-6 times in a round and this would go on for 20 rounds, up and down. They called him "The India Rubber Man" because he was bounced up and down so much. He prided himself on being such a tough guy, a small welterweight, he fought heavyweights..... I think personally that he was crazy in the head. But that's the way many of the early boxers were. Nuts.down but not out. i don't think Joe (Saverio Giannone) was ever stopped. Even Jack Johnson couldn't keep him down.
another classic is taylor vs chavez.taylor deserved to get a W in that fight but he sure as hell lost that war.he looked all kidsa ****ed at the end of that

Calzaghe v Jeff Lacy springs to mind
I remember hearing Joe landed over 1000 punches, but that may have been a rumour
Hearns v Duran. The guys were equally talented, but it was such a lopsided match. Styles make fights...
that wasnt a 1 sided beat down.it was just a quick ko.how in the the hell did i forget foreman vs briggs though.big george beat the break pads off briggs.i think to this day that might still be the worst robbery ive ever seen
Joe Louis totally destroying Max Schmeling in less than 3 minutes of the first round! Ring side patrons could hear screaming and moaning from Max as Joe busted Max's kidney and brought his left hooks into his stomach! This fight showed Louis at his best, completely focussed and the Joe Louis attitude was in place.
Watch this round and visualize Louis moving in on heavies today and watch the form and great technique used to delivery these viscious shots! Ray.
i was going to add this one to the pile, but thought it had probably been mentioned.
this and dempsey beating up willard might be the most brutal
louis broke schmeling's back with a right hand.
his f#cking back... crazy.
In recent memory I think Mosley-Margarito was the worst. Shane was murdering him from the opening bell and is really the only guy to ever actually hurt Margarito.
I also agree with the poster above on Toney-Barkley. There were actually quite a few Toney fights like that where he just beat the sh*t out of guys in a way that made you feel sorry for them.
I also think Buster Douglas - Mike Tyson was an epic ass kicking. The judges were out to rob Douglas so the scored don't reflect it but when I've scored the fight I have never given Tyson a round except for the KD round which I score 10-9 Tyson.
If you watch that one Douglas drops so many vicious right hands on Tyson it's not even funny. Douglas' jab was also like a hammer and he was throwing uppercuts, hooks and the kitchen sink at Tyson. The amount of punishment Tyson took is something that often goes overlooked when discussing his career after that fight.
what was the score at the time of stoppage?i dont think ive seen it before
but anyway hopkins vs tito/pavlik were some terrible beatings.
barrera vs hamed, pacman vs de la hoya, dawson vs ward, forrest vs mosley 1,vitlai vs sam peter might be the saddest i can remember though.sam wanted to quit so bad and his corner just kept sending him back out there:smh:

calzaghe-Lacy.
Agree with the Douglas v Tyson fight. If you really watch it you will see nothing but a one sided beating. Mike came unprepared and Buster really gave him a thrashing. Most other fighters would never have survived it to the later rounds. Douglas is the only fighter to every truly ring Mikes bell. Against Holy and LEwis he just quit.
