Pacman got all His Boxing Records and Accomplishments for anybody to examine it. Ask the Boxing Sportswriters why they have chosen him as Fighter of the Decade, FOTY, #1PFP, including Guinness World Record.
A Boxing Record is a Record, and that will be the basis of any future analysis.
you know all those accolades are democratically voted theirs not a cut and dry scientific method. theyre popularity contests not gold medals.
Academic thread. Ward never leaves the US.
Man Im a Kessler fan but you gotta let it go. Btw Kessler wins the Froch rematch to but Wards on another level.
My bad. We know that. I meant to ask the guy who said he disagreed with my opinion on Chavez and Floyd. I was asking him WHY he thought Floyd would win against Chavez. I don't think he would have won at 140 which was Chavez and Floyd's prime weight. Floyd is a lateral mover who relies on reflexes. You have to have legs to fight and survive against fighters like Chavez. Whitaker was the greatest defensive fighter ever. I don't know why these guys continue to argue that. You couldn't even hit him with jabs! Floyd would have gotten hit more against great fighters wh came to fight. I think that has been proven. The main reason Whitaker was able to dominate Chavez wa because of his legs. Floyd don't have those kind of legs and would have had trouble with him and Duran for that matter. Hell, you see how Cotto gave him trouble and he isn't a master at that in your chest, violent style like Chavez and Duran were.
Well at 140 its even more of a clear victory for floyd. floyd rips chavez apart. chavez never lands anything meaningful all the way to a clear 12 rd ud.
SRL is a top five all-time great in my opinion. He had no weaknesses and nobody prepared for the big fight like Leonard. He was damn near unbeatable. No fighter today would beat him. Everyone thinks Floyd is so great but I know different. He doesn't challenge himself enough to even be thought of as an opponent for a ring immortal like Ray. Ray is too fast, too big, too tough, punches too hard, and is too smart. Floyd has NO advantages here; his defense is only "great" against average opposition. Fighters like Ray, Hearns, Whitaker, Duran, and Chavez would HIT him and hit him often. You see how an old Oscar made a good account of himself for 8 rounds and was up by a round when Floyd swept 9-12. How would a prime Oscar have faired? You know the one that would dance on his toes and make the smaller fighter not look so good? The wone who didn't get tired from throwing a great left jab? Or how about how Judah knocked him down with a counter right hook? Or when Castillo was in his chest for 12 rounds and pounded him to the body? How about most recently when Cotto made him miss over half his shots? He landed 26% against Cotto. SAD. When Cotto bounced on his toes, it confused Floyd a little. Great fantasy fight on paper but in the ring it would have looked similar to May Sr./Leonard except lil Floyd wasn't as tough and would have gotten K.O.'ed.
Chavez wouldnt beat floyd.
