Early Roberto Duran had devastatingly mean intentions!
I remember watching some early fights & he would have some mad crazy eyes & had an intensely fierce expression on his face! ":davil2:"
Ye, after wasting some time on this too lol..
Apparently Douglas' manager John Johnson has a daughter named Mary Bevins, he believed had a special voice. He hired a song writer named Garth Nutter to write the song "Win it all" for his daughter to sing, just for the entrance of the fight. ^__^
p.s. Which cannot be found! lol
In recent interviews, Brook & Hearn have stated that they have been in talks with Team Rios, Marquez & Khan.
This is why those names initially came out during that post-fight interview, those names have been pretty much drilled in his head over the past few weeks.
I was there last night live. The booing wasn't due to the comments he made, simply because when he spoke on the mic & was on the big screens, you couldn't make out a word he said, or anyone that came on the tv + mic infact. Sound quality wasn't that great in the stadium, but tbh that could just be because it was damn loud with all those fans lol.
I personally was one of the people in the crowd that booed. I use to be a big Khan fan, until i went to see the Paul Mccloskey fight live. I ended up leaving a Mccloskey fan that night & ended up despising Khan. This isn't due to race, but to me personally, it was his fans & his attitude after that fight. By fans, I mean, the disrespect A LOT of them gave the Irish supporters that travelled to support Mccloskey. It was almost a sickening disrespect.
Incase people here didn't realise, every one of the 80k that turned up last night were huge boxing fans. The tickets sold out within a couple hours or were bought for double/triple the price. So everyone there new Khan & yes, i suppose a portion of them may have shared a similar experience as I, or as other people have mentioned, just don't like some of the comments he comes out with lol.
Froch is allowed to have his opinion. :lol1:@ people getting butthurt and saying Froch ducked so and so. Bunch of wankers.
I don't know if Khan is so much hesitant about Brook's power because he isn't exactly a monstrous puncher and I think his style would suit Khan which makes it quite baffling why Amir won't just take the fight.
My guess is that it has to do with the his previous dealings with the Hearns. Barry Hearn once called him a fraud over the McCloskey fight and recently called him "Imran Khan". Eddie made some questionable remarks towards one of his team. After that, Khan said he would never work with the Hearns again. And obviously he doesn't particularly like Brook.
I still don't see that as any excuse to avoid this fight but I believe that is his reasoning.
This is a very good point, I personally went to the McCloskey fight & after the Hearn's did give Khan a lot of stick, and it did seem a little personal. I guess where they somewhat went on at Khan to rematch McCloskey, now maybe Khan see's the Hearns as using Brook as their revenge so to speak & they keep trying to push and push that fight, it just pushes away Khan even more & Khan's ego really does not want to give into Matchroom.
I don't think Khan really is afraid.. it's not like i could defend him and say it's high risk low reward, because the reward is exceptional.. all that money, a world title, and pretty much a guarenteed unification with the Floyd/Manny winner. It really just must be ego's.
You are missing the point of having an EGO , you want that fight if you think you will win it so you can TAKE AWAY all bling from the hearns , you avoiding it isnt making you hero nor you make them suffer.
you taking out their guy will make them suffer - really suffer fiannacially.
so i will bag the differ , it could be a great grudge match with tons of upside for Khan , but you will just have to admit , the guy doesnt think he is going to win.
Oh trust me, I do believe he doesnt think he'd win, I'm just trying to find some reasoning on behalf of someone defending him, but I really can't, except maybe the ego's getting in the way, but yeh, you completely blew that reasoning out the window, as you were correct - Just win the fight & shut everyone up.
Wow, a lot of Froch hate here, his just expressing his opinion.. he often does this on numerous issues & does come across like his being bitter, but his really not.
And really, ducking Adonis & DeGale? With respect to Adonis, when the fight came along, Adonis was virtually a no-name compared to Kessler.. I think if anything Froch would have taken that fight in a heart-beat & would have entirely underestimated him, as Dawson did & would have also been in for a big surprise. And DeGale, I just don't see how anyone would think he'd duck him? His looking for bigger & better things for his last few fights, and even said on IFLTV yesterday that if DeGale beats Dirrel, then that belt would be on loan.
I don't mean to come across defensive, just telling it how i see is all.
