Jackson is an experienced trainer and two time work champion. Kovalev should be paying attention and get his ego out of the way.
Yeah i know he should do that but he's a hardheaded russian with not the most easy personality out there,i do agree with you,he should do that
People can spin it however they want but it doesn't take a lot of brains to realize that it's not an optimal situation. I like Kovalev as a fighter but he seems to be extremely hard headed, to his detriment.
I have to agree a 100% with you on that,Think Kovalev is maybe the most hardheaded and difficult fighter in the game now at that level, but if he loses he can't wine then if he does everything his own way
I like Lipinets and Indongo and would would rather see Mikey fight them but, to be honest, Broner is a harder fight than either of them. Yea, he's a fuk-up, but Broner is huge and let's not pretend he isn't dangerous. And, Broner makes far more sense for the promoters and fans. Gets Mikey's name out there more and sets up a bigger fight with Loma (hopefully).
Regarding going up to fight Crawford, I hope Mikey stays at 135 a little longer, so he can make a Loma fight first.
Mikey has said he will come down for the title fights at 135 again, they weren't available now so he made the choice to fight broker,an excellent choice,Broner is a big name.
The lomachenko - Garcia fight can still happen in the future, and i hope it does
Yeah fantastic fight, two fantastic fighters, still watch it from time to time, this was the time i still liked lampley commentating, he actually commentated on what was happening in the ring and was good at it now he just sucks,
Walters weight is on point now in time for the fight,he looks good!
,you can find the picture of walters on a boxing ego vid on youtube,it was leaked by a panamanian journalist
It will be a unification fight against Corrales more then likely,Good build up towards Walters, walters need to fight first, been too inactive, dont want any excuses
Yeah no way it does. The question is only going to be whether they change it to NC or DQ. I prefer the former.
This would be way not the first time an official ruling was overruled.
Who can overrule it and how does it work?
Disgraceful on flores,Rigo could have been disqualified and maybe should have been, but it is what it is,i don't want to Rigo to suffer too much too,he has trouble enough getting fights as it is,but he could have definitely been disqualified for that
you are ignoring the fact that the filipono was fighting a very popular mexican in antonio margarito, go back and rewatch the fight, plenty of margarito fans if not more than pacs...
Exactly you are totally right!!
Thats what i mean,if Margarito allready brought so many mexicans to the pacquiao fight,
Then Canelo as Mexicans biggest star and the face of boxing as Oscars likes to say,
Should do 70000 to 100000 to impress me and have a really good audience...
50000 is expected anything less then pac margarito would be a flop son
He doesn't need to go to Europe to sell. Why would he do that? He made Smith come to America even though Smith is the champ. Making something more than what it is is GGG as the unified champ going over to the UK to defend. People tried to make it out as he's expanding his global brand. Floyd never fought over there and he expanded his global brand. Canelo doesn't have to fight there and he's expanded his global brand. If you want to be an international superstar you have to fight in America. Why else would these foreigners come here to fight if the boxing scene in the UK is so great?
He should do that to expand his own brand and make more fans or do it for his few fans here...
Floyd does has alott of fans here because there are alott of africans in europe who will all support a brother and rightly so,and he's also a million times better.
There are not alott of mexicans in europe its a complete different situation....
They should care because in europe we have the biggest market in the world 500 million people all with money.
plenty more to be made for someone who takes pride in selling more and calling himself a superstar.
But can you even be called a superstar if youre are only well known on 2 continents,Canelo is not famous or popular here, not hating just stating facts
who sells more tickets than canelo today???
He does and i will congratulate him on that and he deserves it,he worked hard for it,i wont take that away from him so respect to him for that,
but that dont make him a superstar....
It's so sad watching these little girls try and spin this. Canelo damn near pulling in live audience that rivals GGG's entire PPV audience.
Don't make it more then it actually is,
Canelo is a big star in Mexico,
The demographics in Texas couldnt be better for him,
In fact anything else then record attendace would be a major failure for Canelo.
it would be bad if Pacquioa outsld him on his "hometurf"
It would be far more impressive if he would sell out big places in europe where there arent many Mexicans
They giving away free tickets to make it look more full and then they probally still wont fill it up...
It matters because this defines a superstar....
A superstar will draw casuals who know nothing about boxing, don't eve like it, but still come just to see the person in real life...
thats a true superstar
A true superstar is known all over the world...
both manny and floyd are superstars in america, why do they need to go to africa or manila???
africa and manila dont have the same ticket prices as in america not even close, canelo could do the same in mexico and no one is bringing that up...
canelo sells more tickets than anyone in america(yes texas is america), like it or not...
I'm not so sure he could....
not even floyd will do those numbers fighting a noname like liam , dont be delusional...
pac was almost as popular as floyd and marg was already a big name, and those 2 togheter couldnt reach canelos numbers, think about it for a second...
In Africa Floyd would definitly do does numbers even against a no name!
In Manilla the same for Pacquiao.
In texas wich in practicly mexico and with so much mexicans living there and true out the States Canelo should do that to if he is a true superstar!
Good fight in the sense that its a unification fight, but not the fight I want to see. I would much rather see Salido, Walters, Vargas, Pedraza or even Sosa.
thanks for the feedback,Let's hope these other fights can get made too,i wanna see Loma vs Walters too!! and Gamboa offcourse let's not forget that banger!
you're comparing it.
margarito was never on canelo's level in terms of popularity for the mexicans.
canelo could fight a bear and the mexicans will support him because that's their number #1 guy right now. the fact that pac who is not a native here, could draw that much is an accomplishment so im not sure why the need to compare as if this is a competition when its clear why canelo will prolly out do manny. mexico aint that far from texas. philipines is about half an ocean away. most of pac's fans that support him is from the states, very few will travel all the way from the philipines. where as canelo, he has the fan base here in the states, now add the thousands that will be coming in from mexico to see him fight.
^^^ this is all what i was saying!!
good post G
He's about to pack damn near 50,000 people in a stadium. He doesn't need to travel. If he fought in Mexico he could pack 100,000 people in a stadium. He's good.
Europe's market is small time compared to America. Fighting in Vegas can earn you a higher gate at 15,000 than fighting in Europe with 25,000. The enthusiasm in Europe for boxing is great but there's a reason the foreign fighters come to America to make it big.
You make some good points,
However even in my country where boxing is not a famous sport,we had one fighter not even fighting for a european title and they will fill up a 10000-20000 stadium when he fights...
Like i said for Canelo to sell 50000 tickets in Texas aint that special, its expected if you are youre country's most famous star...
Anything less would be a disappointment.
A Filipino outselling you in youre own territory would be bad!
He's practicly in his own country if he is in texas....
