I wouldn't think of this at such an early stage. When I first started I just wanted to get stuck in. It's so hard to even get into fighting condition, let alone become somewhat decent at the sport. The gym will literally ignore you for a couple of years. You might not even get a compliment if you think your punches are hard or fast and it seems like you have finesse.
You will realise how difficult it is after an hour of training. All the work before you even have your first sparring session is what causes most beginners to drop out.
Please keep at it. As you can tell by the responses, everyone has poked fun at you. Some of these replies are from people who have had over 20 years in the sport and they find things like this cringey and hilarious. I thought I'd just tell you about that.
Get stuck in lad.
I've been looking to become amateur for a while now and I'm getting down to it as soon as I can, but what do I do to make this happen? what is the best way? I've thought about white collar boxing but it doesn't look like it will be for me.
White collar boxing doesn't like it will be for me because I've read through various boxing clubs that host competitions and they don't even award the belt to the person who wins... they award it to whoever sells the most tickets, which I think is stupid, it isn't high school, I couldn't care for winning a popularity contest, I want a belt based on how successful I've been in the ring.
So now that's looking like it's out the window, what else can I do? If I did do white collar boxing and I do say if, would I even benefit from it? Would I get an amateur boxing profile made classifying me as 1-0? or whatever the out come is of my fight because that's what I'm looking for. It's pointless me signing up for it if it won't make me a classified amateur boxer.
Best way to become amateur? much appreciated. I'm from the UK if that helps.
White collar boxing doesn't count but it is the only way to get the experience of being in a ring and performing in front of an audience.
Don't ask the gym because you want them to notice you first. It gets embarrassing looking desperate. Boxing gyms know everyone loses interest and a small minority keep grinding.
Sounds like you're doing this for all the wrong reasons and with the wrong mindset. Guys like you end up catching an ass beating and then giving up. People who are doing stuff to "prove the haters wrong" are working to elevate themselves. They aren't plotting on how they can spite others.
True. He doesn't seem to understand the truth of boxing; dedication and hard work but if that's the way he sees the sport then fair enough. Maybe he is watching too much KSI vs Logan Paul in preparation for his white collar.
