Hatas gon hate
If after watching this video you still say floyd's punches were dirty, you have to admit that you just hate floyd that much! Dont cover it up with unsportsmanship BULL because it wasnt. The ref stopped the action, sent both fighters to neutral corners, and took a point. Then the ref continued the action by saying "lets go" and motioning with his hands, that means fight. Just because you take your eyes off your opponent doesnt mean he cant hit you, and if he does its not illegal, dirty or unsportsmanlike.
Hitting before or after the bell is dirty, illegal,& a point should be taken away!
Hitting someone while theyre down is dirty, illegal, & a point should be taken!
Hitting someone below the belt is dirty, illegal, & a point should be taken away!
Jump headbutting someone on purpose is dirty, illegal, & a point should be taken away!
Hitting behind the head or back is dirty, illegal, & a point should be taken away!
Hitting someone on the chin when theyre not looking IS NOT illegal, nor dirty, & a point should never be taken away!
Floyd dispelled that rumor. His defense was amazing last night. If that incident never happened, I truly believe Floyd puts on the best performance of his career and dismantles Ortiz down the stretch. I have never seen Floyd with that much pop in his career.
Floyd actually shocked me with that cuz I didnt he would use it, but he used it & he frustrated victor with it. He actually was blocking ortiz straight left with it. I was surprised!
Even if something is intentional the fighters usually touch em up or do something to be appologetic...it just shows who a poor sport is...example...Kahn - Maidana(Maidana being a fighter I like) during the fight there was an incident that happened. Kahn tried to touch gloves with Maidana to say its ok and Maidana just went on the attack. I saw it as being poor sportsmanship.
yeah that was kinda close but thats why the ref says to protect yourself at all times becuz things like that happens
My son?
And this is being done by guys(freddie roach, bob, konz)who swear pacs their "son."
I remember hearing roach say in regards to some negotiations." I will never let manny get done like that cuz he's like a son to me."
That's the tough part. Arum was a lawyer so you know the contract Manny signed to Top Rank probably was jacked up.
Then Pacman fired VisionQwest (thanks to Arum) who was put there to dig up all the dirt dealing with his financial issues. According to that article they found some discouraging information and then Manny fires them???
Remember when arum said he didnt care that pac hired V.Q. and tried to down play them? Then out of the blue he sends manny that fake letter, then pac fired them. Hey bob, I thought u didnt care?
Yu"Bob arum- manny told me u again tried to get him to fire me. Is it Alzheimer's or are you this ****ing stupid! Hope u Enjoy my new article."

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS! finally somebody get rid of that crook!
When it comes to boxing You have to go to vegas because they have the best trainers & fighters... So youre being taught by the best while fighting the best which could only lead to good results.... as far as promoters go I would have to say anybody outside of the known crooks, the safest bet would be to sign with someone like al haymon & let him guide your career! But most importantly you must make sure the contract you sign is in the benefit of the fighter & not the
Im on my way to vegas myself to train with the best fighters and trainers & turn professional sometime next yr( I would like to train with the mayweathers but thats nearly imposible seeing that everyone wants to so ill find another trainer) so ill just look for the be$t contract instead of the "best" promoter
because the last thing I would want to do is become another puppet like pacquiao getting snacks while the promoter eat steak & potatoes!
With that said im signing with al haymon!
you're starting to lose your point
1. global demand does not drive PPV sales
2. "even though were in a recession look at the stores on black friday or the after christmas sell, and look at all the people who slept outside"
you forget people go to BF for the hugely discounted pricing not because of the demand.
you're lost guy I know it's nice to daydream about things like this but if you really think a card like this could be done you're lost in the daydreaming
My point with black friday n the iphone was that people will spend their money on a product even if we are in a recession and the economy is bad. When everybody around the world is waiting & willing to spend their money on a product that product will become a highly demanded product & as soon as that product becomes available it will sell huge like the iphone did. The "product" in this case is may vs pac & if it were for sale on may 5th it would do big numbers because eveyone around the globe is willing to buy it. However, the exp. date on the fight is may 5 so if arum waits anytime after that it would do bad because people would lose interest and that would bring the demand down...
I tried to use the iphone for an example but maybe its a stretch...
Just my opinion
basically all I was trying to say when I started this thread is that in my "opinion" with the card I made up may vs pac would sell 3 million.... Now maybe im wrong but I doubt( charles barkley voice)
For 3 million buys bro that would be hard to get man. Instead of throwing a huge watch party people have to buy it themselves and get it up to 3 million. What would you rather. That would mean that the people you usually throw the gathering with would also have to buy it And in this economy they will not just buy a 100 dollar card for themselves. They would rather go to a party and pitch in for the bout thus making it less buys IMO
Well if oscar vs floyd can do 2.4 mill I have a hard time believing this fight wont surpass that especially knowing that this fight is in more of a demand than that was
yeah man most def people would pitch in. At least I know in my clan they would. It wouldn't make sense that the people that usually come over and split it with me. For each of them to buy it also. That would mean they would be watching it alone
That fight wasn't 100 bucks bro
Plus look at the economy now and that means they would still need almost 600 thousand more willing to pay 100 dollars for the fight rather than bonding together
The economy was bad then too, it was so bad that I got out of real estate... The ppv's were higher then when I first start paying for them and I still paid for the oscar vs floyd fight and they had a horrible undercard
thats a really great point. i totally agree that people would be banding together more than usual with that price and the total buys would probably be about the same. and i'm sure a fight like that would be shown at more bars than the average ppv
Remember bro we live in america & our country runs on one thing...supply & demand or buy & sell.... even though were in a recession look at the stores on black friday or the after christmas sell, and look at all the people who slept outside just to get an iphone 4... Im telling you bro Where theres a demand someone will supply and theres a global demand for may-pac you throw in a stacked undercard like that and the sells will go through the roof
Forget Marquez....he's made too much money and has too big of an ego to be on an undercard.
Undercard for Pac/May fight should be:
Rios/Gamboa or Nonaire
Bradley/Khan - both are affordable.
Sergio/Chavez Jr - same thing.
Pac/May
I dont think marquez would mind taking a backseat for a card like this
TR vs GBP. I take:
1st televised fight - Juanma Lopez vs Gary Russell Jr
2nd televised fight - Brandom Rios vs Marcos Maidana
3rd - Miguel Cotto vs Saul Alvarez
Pac vs Floyd.
Like MLK, he had a dream and we all have ours.
Oh yeah I forgot about g. russell... your first matchup would be a complete blockbuster!
YyHonestly they should really make sure that Mayweather vs Pacquiao is a STACKED card and make it the biggest event in history. Get some young talents like Broner or Russell Jr on there, guys that need to take on the mantle of star like Bradley, Donaire on there too and a big name Mexican and not only will there be a ton of PPV buys, but the buzz will be huge and really put boxing (outside of May/Pac) back on the map for the casuals who only watch those 2.
If only arum thought like this boxing would take over and generate more money than all sports
First fight: Maybe
Second fight: Eventually
Main Event: Never gonna happen
Lol I think there are a variety of reasons this fantasy card would never happen, the biggest being Arum isnt interested whatsoever in the main event.
Yeah but we deserve a card like that after waiting this long. If somehow we backed arum into a corner to make it this would be great!
Bradley vs JMM- probably in the neighborhood of 7-8 million to make happen
Canelo vs JCC Jr- probably in the neighborhood of 10-12 million to make happen
Mayweather Pacquiao- starting point is 100 million to make this fight
so at least 120 million in three fights?
Yeah its alot of dough but they would get it all back and then some as this card would do that much more with a great undercard rather than having may-pac n some last minute throw in
Lol lopez has already shown how he holds up against big shots from a mediocre opponent. he truly would have no answer for the swift power that russell jr. throws out.
I'd def pick russell to win and I may be biased cuz I dnt see nobody beating him at that weight but lopez vs russell is a great matchup
Im telling you guys where theres a demand someone will supply...low demand = low sells, high demand = high sells & theres a global demand for this fight, if they put the card I suggested with maybe one more tv fight like j. Lopez vs g.russell jr. with the main event may vs pac it will sell like hot cakes.... 3 million buys easy
If they bumped up the price to a 100 dollars I can see the profit. But in this economy I can't see 3 million buys for a 100 dollars a pop
I can see it happenin.....this fight is being demanded by the entire globe, so even in this economy it will sell huge... I would glady put down $100 for this card without blinking! Just think if they do like $22 mill at the gate & sell 3 million in ppv at $100 a pop they would get their investment back and then some...
ALL ppv cards should resemble something like this. and not for 100 beans either.
True, but if push came to shove & they made this card happen would you miss this card over a lousy 30 bucks?
and as it stands right now people hated the notion of paying $70 for a PPV what makes you think $100 will be anymore acceptable?
and trust me if it goes to $100 it won't go past 3 million buys you act like people in this economy have an extra 30 to burn, they don't and if those people were up in arms paying 70 for a card with Mayweather Canelo and Morales on it what makes you think 100 is any better
even as it stands I think 3 million buys is a hard sell
Its a hard sell if its mayweather vs canelo or pac vs cotto but if its this card I just dont see too many fans complaining especially when they could split it 2, 3, or even 4 ways.
there is a saturation point to everything and I have to think the buying public would not go out of their way for a $100 PPV.
as it stands with a relatively cheap undercard (about 2 million) it's going to be hard to create a profit suitable enough for all involved to make it happen
say what you will about those involved but while we all would love to see this fight happening it won't simply because economically there will have to be a ton of creative thinking to make it happen IF the purses I hear are happening
$100 is only $30 north of what we pay anyway so I dnt see too many people turning a fight of this magnitude with a unheard of undercard like that down over 30 bucks
