Also, Mundine announced his next opponent today:
http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=209882&cat=boxer
This guy has to be the biggest joke in world boxing.
maybe....but i don't think he will be able to catch Foreman to apply pressure.....i also think Foreman is awkward and will hold on the inside and hit Cotto with short right hooks when they tangle.......i also think he can hit harder than his 8 KO's suggest..........he is at his natural weight, is taller, has better stamina and i would argue he is durable too..........i could be wrong......and i may be eating humble pie after the fight as i have been very very vocal about my opinion on Foreman winning this one..........
also i am not convinced Cotto is the same fighter who beat Mosley in a close fight a few years back.........Margarito took alot out of him, i also thought he didn't look too good against Jennings and i had Clottey winning a close fight also......add those to Pac pounding on him for a good 11 rds and i think if he doesn't get Foreman out of there early he won't win........
I think Cotto has deteriorated a bit also, but not to the point where he is going to start losing to guys like Foreman.
What I have seen of Foreman shows me nothing to think that he has what it takes to stand up to intense pressure from an elite pressure fighter like Cotto. Sure he looked okay dancing around a fat, immobile Santos, but to do that against a well-trained, highly focused Miguel Cotto is a completely different story.
I think Floyd gets dropped in the 2nd, and will run away from Mundines known punching power for a couple of rounds before finally trying to fight again, and getting countered, rocked, and stopped. No doubt.
Although, Mayweather will duck Mundine once Mundine beats Sam Soliman for the 9000th time...
Possibility I guess.
I'll stick with my initial call of Mundine KO at the touch-gloves though.
I agree with you 100%. You gotta be able to stand up to the heat to get to and hurt Miguel. Margarito and Pacquiao could do that, but I seriously doubt that Foreman can.
Cotto stops Foreman. Too good, too strong, too tough.
As big of a muppet as Choc is......if he can make 154 comfortably.....he will give fighters problems....fast and has a good right..........
No, not anymore.
Once upon a time this may have been the case, but he has deteriorated a great deal of late. He isn't that quick anymore, doesn't have any significant power, and can't maintain a decent workrate.
He is a sitting duck and knows it. That is why he is continually fighting guys that don't pose a significant threat to any decent fighter.
this is like when katsidis called out pacquiao.......lol
No, it isn't.
Katsidis would literally fight Pacquiao given the chance.
If Mundine was offered a fight against Mayweather (or any other top fighter) he would run a million miles.
i'm on the Foreman bandwagon....i think he will get on his bike all night and box to a UD...........
I was not impressed with that fight at all.
So what? Foreman can outbox a fat, disinterested Santos, who cares?
Cotto is going to bring the pressure and break Foreman down.
It's possible. Floyd would likely pass out with fear at the stare down, Mundine is fearsome. Shame UltimateBoxa isn't around anymore to tell us how Mayweather ducked for the fight for 1 Mill just like Winky Wright :nonono:
Lol, he is around brother.
Pop into the Aussie Lounge and have a look at the poster "I'll be back".
Ulting it up just like old times.
What fighter doesn't want that Mayweather or Pacuiao pay-check, same when Oscar was aroung guys I never even heard of with like 18-4 records were calling him out.
That isn't what I find amusing, its the fact that it is Mundine doing the calling out.
He wouldn't fight Mayweather, regardless of what money was on the table. He's a joke.
No, I'm not. I really enjoy watching both of those guys fight, particularly Pacquiao. I want to see both of them fight as much as possible before retiring. Fighters like these guys do not come around too often so we need to appreciate them when they do. Sure, their hardcore fans may be very narrow-minded and annoying, but it is still a pretty small price to pay IMO.
Outstanding!
I bet Ult is the only one on the board who believes this bullsh!t.
For real Dan... How does the average aussie sportsfan take this? Are they believing Mundine still or can they see through it?
The hype is not as bad as it once was, but he isn't universally mocked, as he should be.
I think Oscar would have learnt from his mistake and won a rematch in a semi-competitive decision. Oscar had the boxing ability to give Tito fits. He would have used his jab much more effectively in a rematch I think.
It's not as if I really care about your opinion at all, but I'm a little curious to know about all those garbage posts I make?
I obviously don't care about yours either Bat, so no worries.
I'm not going to waste my time trolling back through all of the posts you have made over the past 6 months to find the ones I have seen and thought were retarded, its just the general feel I have for your posts now. Like take it back 18 months, if I saw you were the last poster in the thread I would click it as I was interested in what you had posted. Now if I see you were the last poster I either ignore it or click it expecting something retarded, and it seems to me that you rarely disappoint.
Wauw. He mentioned Sturm! I would bet on a Sturm win there.
I really hope that is a joke.
On topic, awesome shit from Sergio. As everyone is saying, we need more champions like this.
and youd lose :lol1: .....
im telling you bat went from decent poster to ********* troll..... :lol1:
Yeah, I remember when I first started posting on here Bat seemed like he knew some shit.
Every post I read of his now is just utter garbage. I guess he has just followed the NSB trend.
Bat has watched boxing longer than you've been born, my friend.
The man knows his shit.
So what?
I'm not disputing his knowledge, simply that he now posts rubbish, which is my personal opinion.
tax concerns are a legit reason. as long as they fight, why the hell shld it matter if its a few months later?
The point is there don't appear to be any tax concerns. From what I can gather.
did marg cheat against cotto? yes? no? maybe?
did marg whoop cotto's ass? definitely.
Your post pretty much makes the point.
How legit can that win be? There has to be MASSIVE doubt over that fight and its fairness now. Is it really logical to think that it was this one-off fight against Mosley that Margarito was using these special wraps for? Personally I think that is a little naive. I agree that it cannot be established with certainty that he cheated in the Cotto fight, but I think there is plenty of doubt over it. Enough for that win to pretty much be discounted.
You can't really bring Tyson and Holyfield being out of prime into it when Floyd's best wins are 38 year old Mosley, blown up LW JMM and shot to sh*t Oscar. Not trying to discredit Floyd but his resume isn't on Lennox's level imo.
It's 2:30 am here so I need to get to bed.
I will grant you that the Marquez win stands for very little but I think Shane and Oscar were in better shape than the versions of Tyson and Holy that Lennox beat.
After you get past those two you have a controversial win over Vitali and then Tua and a string of other contenders. I will take the rest of Floyd's body of work over that.
Enjoy your slumber.
Yes.
Are you joking with that resume comment? Tyson, Holyfield, Vitali(prime), Tua(prime), Mercer(prime), Morrison and McCall(prime) vs Mosley, Marquez, Oscar, Gatti, Castillo(prime) and Corrales(prime)?
No I am not joking at all. When the first name you mention is a shot-to-**** Tyson, the second is a Holy well and truly on the downer, the third is a short-notice Vitali (who could have won that fight bar the cuts) and the fourth is David Tua it should be obvious.
I'll take Mayweather's resume over that every time. Don't get me wrong I'm not hating on Lennox, great heavy and I enjoyed watching him fight, but his resume is not great. No fault of his own, he beat everyone there was to beat, there just wasn't that many good fighters around at the time.
