That was a nasty shot Torrez took. If you watch the angle from Sanchez’s back, you see he put his body behind it. Not too many men could eat that blow and retain their senses.
He didn't move enough and didn't threw enough, Hopefully he learned from that fight.
Damn shame Morrell’s scheduled fight fell through. We don’t see these guys often enough.
Cuban School Of Boxing Education served Cuban Dave well
he moved countered and made Fat Dave work
Fat Dave toughest fight to date
Well, “Fat” Dave definitely lived up to the Monster moniker last night. That was brutal.
While there were reports of Rigo possibly signing with BKFC in 2024, I think he’s decided against it, at least for now.
It was announced today he signed with promoter/gym owner in Florida named Mateo Attalla to return to boxing.
Gamboa is expected to make his bareknuckle debut with BKB this year, but looks like he’s gonna look to knock off the rust in boxing first.
Kind of hate to see these guys resorting to bare knuckle. I’m inclined to believe they’re desperate. I enjoy watching this stuff, but it IS brutal — more so than boxing.
I like the cubano. Not the typical style, hes a ****er, aggressive af and loves to hurt mofos.
Started checkin him out when he beat Davis. And now he embarassed Gausha. Hopefully he fights again soon
Couldn’t catch the fight, but I understand Yoenli destroyed the guy. Saw Hernandez fight once and caught some vids on YouTube. Looks like the real deal. He comes to fight and brings some heavy artillery. I’ll be looking for the replay.
Abass Baraou was a legit opponent....Zayas called up everyone
Pretty much what I was gonna say. Baraou isn’t a world beater, obviously, but he’s no slouch. Solid opponent. Saw him fight live in Orlando. This was a nice win for Zayas. I considered this a little test. And, frankly, I wouldn’t have been surprised if Abass had won.
It doesn't raise questions. The fight was super close. And that's with only 6 pro fights.
Experience is the reason andy loss. Not talent. Just like when Loma loss to salido.
Hope you’re right. Cruz is 30. Part of the reason why he was fast-tracked is because he hasn’t got much time to develop as a pro before his prime evaporates.
The writer who did an article 2 days before the fight needs to be fired
I read that article. Didn’t age well at all. The history of the world is littered with bad calls and upsets. Very few things in life are 100% certain. It can be shocking, and even disturbing, but it can also make life interesting. Congr ats to Muratalla. I hope Cruz bounces back.
Very disappointed in the outcome of this fight. I didn’t see it, so I’ll have to catch the replay, but Cruz is one of those guys I thought was just about a lock for a world title. I’m sure he still has hopes, but this obviously raises questions.
If Muratella really had zero chance, Robert Garcia would have avoided this fight just like he's avoiding Boots for Vergil. Cruz by UD, 8-4.
Really looking forward to seeing how Cruz looks against a solid opponent.
The Ronny Alvarez kid caught my eye last year, one of the better guys I saw - I like that he's getting started early at just 21. Smaller than the other 168 counterparts though.
He's fighting this weekend, I hope he makes a good impression.
Check out Yoenli Hernandez if you haven't yet. Very promising. He’s part of the new Cuban school of aggressive yet skilled fighters.
Yes, he was, and the guy could put anyone to sleep with one punch. He was a stubborn fighter, but the guy was special, and he was not only good against a prime p4p and fighter of the year, but he was also masterful, and that was his downfall, quigg, mares, frampton and St+ all found an excuse not fight him, could you imagine the kind of resume that Rigo would have if those fours have grown some balls and face him?
I honestly believe Rigo is mentally ill. There’s something wrong with that guy. Damn shame. Could’ve been one of the all-time greats with his talent, power and skills. We caught but a mere glimpse of what could have been. Master class versus Donaire.
Same could be said about Roy Jones I suppose.
Yeah, it ain’t pretty when a fading legend sticks around too long. Ali, Leonard, among others, lost badly to men they would’ve handled in their prime.
Relax paisano, you know if the fight is easy he won't go for broke. He needs a dancing partner, a good fighters that make him work, by the way this guy beat Hurd.
Yeah, Lara is at an age and a stage in his career that he’s understandably not taking any unnecessary chances. He’s 42 and hasn’t fought in over a year. Pretty impressive that he made a reasonably decent fighter look very overmatched. I think If someone presses him, Landy will answer back — but it’s got to be for a price.
I was at Téllez’s last fight. Was hoping he’d deliver, of course. Baraou was a little too much for him at this point in his career. I think Yoenis and his team might’ve made the mistake of looking past the more experienced fighter a little bit. But the Cuban is only 25, and is showing the right attitude: use this as a catalyst for growth. He has work to do, and it’s good he understand that now. Easy to fall in love with yourself when you’re getting past everyone you’ve faced easily. Téllez was lucky he saw the final bell; he was in trouble towards the end. That’s a wake-up call.
Although Lara’s opponent left something to be desired, even beyond the fact he was a late replacement, the old Cuban acquitted himself well. Landy hadn’t laced up gloves in over a year, yet he managed to make it look fairly easy. For his sake, I hope he gets one more payday before Father Time claims him.
So Lara did what he had to do versus late replacement González. Would’ve been nice to see what Landy still has in the tank versus a worthy opponent — his fights are numbered.
Chances are Janibek has been cheating all along. It's highly unlikely he decided to cheat for this fight in specific, he's had trouble making weight for a long time.
I’d say you’re probably right. Sucks we won’t be seeing this fight.
