bare knuckle is barbaric higher risk of broken hands near guarantee of cuts and scarring. I dont even know if there is less chance of CTE than regular boxing, there is less ability to defend without large boxing gloves, more punches landed and lighter punches, CTE is really an accumulation thing, more lighter blows can be worse than a single KO blow. I think the only argument it could be less CTE risk is because theyre too often stopped from someones face being cut open so they dont last as long

Gamboa gonna need to fill out. His cheekbones are ripe for BKFC.

While there were reports of Rigo possibly signing with BKFC in 2024, I think he’s decided against it, at least for now. It was announced today he signed with promoter/gym owner in Florida named Mateo Attalla to return to boxing. Gamboa is expected to make his bareknuckle debut with BKB this year, but looks like he’s gonna look to knock off the rust in boxing first. Kind of hate to see these guys resorting to bare knuckle. I’m inclined to believe they’re desperate. I enjoy watching this stuff, but it IS brutal — more so than boxing.
