Let’s not get carried away here. Devin
is 24 and definitely not in his prime. Just like Canelo wasn’t in his prime when he lost at 23 to Mayweather.
Loma fought a young, hungry champion who was weight drained and no where near his prime. However, Loma isn’t at his prime either. Let’s give the fighters the respect they deserve but let’s not try to twist the story to fit a narrative.
as if you don't read excuses? turning blind eye to this one? i have respect for errol but this one is crystal clear.
Once again. Idiotic statement. Memes and gifs don’t make it correct. Ugas stepped in and did his thing. A duck is not signing the fight. If it was a true duck without a valid reason he could be sued by PAC, the promoters, etc.
I rarely post on this board but I check in with major fights. Guys, why do we always de-value guys and trash boxing after a great win. Spence was and is a great fighter. Dude fought his way to three belts, including and basically fought everyone at welter weight except Thurman. Never ducked a fight and even fought Garcia as his comeback fight (and beat him up).
Bud is just that good. There is a reason Freddie Roach would let Pac near him (and chose Spence). Let’s give Crawford his flowers and not shit on Spence.
i doubt. didn't he just made excuses a week before the fight with pac?
A confirmed detached retina? This is why I rarely post here and just look for updates about fights. That’s a dumb statement.
I’ve got a lot of respect for pac. But his fans….
Out of all people - can’t sell out his Father’s hometown Devin Haney has the juice to force VADA to compromise and be sued into oblivion by contaminating a sample? Not for Canelo (against Bivol) or to set up the Wilder/AJ fight but to go against the hottest fighter right now and pick pillow fisted Haney? And to do it before they fought??
Okay. Got it. Must be a race thing right? Somehow they don’t like money and are actively trying to make sure that Haney continues his reign of pillow fisted wins.
can’t make this up
Teo’s father is what’s limiting him. Sadly. I get the feeling that the difference with Bill Haney is that they were humbled by the Loma fight (on the low) and brought in other folks to assist. Just can’t believe he didn’t cut Ortiz off or capitalize on him bailing out to his right. It didn’t have to be a boring fight.
If Boots wants big fights, he needs to move up to 154. They can’t hide there. There are no fights at 147. Literally - none.
Crawford is looking at 154 undisputed. Earl can’t make 147 anymore. Virgil has moved up.
I like Boots. But he needs to stop acting safe like cats aren’t in striking distance one weight class up. He’s a big welter.
The reason boxing is languishing is because the fans…screaming robbery when a close fight is presented or never objectively evaluating a fight.
Crawford could have fought a bs contender for his first fight. Instead he fought what his team repeatedly said was the best fighter in the division. Yes, he only had 10 professional fights. But he also had an extensive and well-regarded amateur career (similar to Loma but probably not on that level). Israil is a damn good fighter who will probably go on Pit Bull Cruz run after this and make a mark at 154.
I don’t think Crawford should fight Canelo. Canelo is just too big. But Canelo is going to have other really big fights that he can’t avoid: Benavidez or the winner of Bivol’s big fight.
A fighter should never be penalized for challenging himself when moving up. Crawford should go for undisputed at 154 and make history.
Simple. Run it back. It was a good fight. I had it a draw. Either one could have won the fight. Scores were bad but that wasn’t a robbery.
However, Haney is done at 135.
