As great as Floyd was, as great as his resume is, he just doesn’t have a single WIN of this caliber on his resume. He doesn’t have an all time great win against a great prime fighter. His resume is loaded with big names and great wins (which gives him a case for GOAT and TBE status) but if we really gonna dissect it, his biggest win against an absolute prime fighter remains to be Corrales.
A win of this magnitude, winning all the marbles against an undefeated fighter is equivalent to him beating an ATG in Pacquiao in 2009-2010 (or well in that case it might even be a bigger win.)
A lot of ATGS had a single ATG win in their resume, who was Floyd’s?
Well their comprehension is out of my control. But everything I’ve written here comes with the territory. That’s what boxing forums are about, debates, comparisons, agreements and disagreements. I know for sure that if this was something positive about floyd you wouldn’t have batted an eye or you’d even be the first to second the motion, but since it’s a negative one you quickly pulled the “why does it always have to be floyd” move. lol at least have some consistency big dunn.
If we live in a fantasy world, and Floyd vs Crawford prime to prime fight happens tomorrow I’d cheer my lungs out for Floyd. But still I can be unbiased to say he never had a win as big and as impressive as Crawford’s win over Spence during his reign at welterweight. Berto, Judah, Baldomir, Maidana, Hatton, Old Mosley, Quiter Ortiz, Guerrero, Pacman is the biggest on the list and he was past it when it happened and their performance both underwhelming.
This is negative about Floyd? Naw. That is what is really sad- Crawford wins a big fight and it becomes a referendum on Floyd.
I said this about the threads about Tank v Inoue threads being so dumb and ridiculous. I dont see why a big fight brings out the stupidity, envy and jealousy of fans.
That is fine. I am not questioning any of that.
I just dont get this and other thread when Crawford and Inoue have career elevating and defining wins.
This is the answer to the question you asked me.
Once you bring up Floyd, it brings out the very worst losers of the forum. It then becomes a **** show because, as you realize in this post, the reading comprehension of many is so low that they immediately assume you’re denigrating Manny or lowering Floyd.
It also devolves into a crap fest where the guys that are fans of guys Floyd beat use the thread to vent their still hurt feelings.
Many posters vent about how the board is too much about Floyd. Yet whenever there is a major win, his name comes up.
I just dont see why. And I’m one of the biggest Floyd fans there is.

Higher than Spence you mean? heaps of fighters.
Thurman
Bradley
JMM
Cotto
Margarito
Broner
Oscar
That's ridiculous.
Keith Thurman lost to a 40 year old Pacquaio & hasn't taken boxing seriously in at least 5 or 6 years.
Bradley has zero power
JMM is not and was never a real welterweight
Margarito? Senor "Plaster of Paris"?
Broner? In what world is Adrian Broner, who should've lost to Adrian Granados better than Crawford or Spence?
Oscar was 34 & weight drained when they fought.
terrible list.
Pacquiao had a lot more wear and tear, 17 more fights than Floyd, and fought 8 of the 12 rounds with an injured shoulder. Floyd still couldn’t hurt him. Spence had less than 30 fights and no losses, no excuse except that he got outboxed by a superior fighter.
I don't know maybe maybe not. A shopworn Mosley had Cotto put on his track shoes in the late rounds
I wouldn't say shop worn, but more like experienced.
The same Cotto who took a knee to Marg, has the skill set and is durable enough to take any 147 version of Spence, just my opinion of course.
To answer TS question. That's actually a hard question to answer, imo. Crawford beating Spence is for his 2nd Undisputed title. Two undefeated fighters. Kind of late but still significant.
Vs
Floyd who needs no introduction, LOL. If he took out Manny who was considered the other generational talent at his peak imo 09-10. That win would have been the cement of Floyds legacy. All of his faults forgi en.
So my my answer is no, Buds win over Spence would not be over a floyd win over 09/10ish Manny.
as if you don't read excuses? turning blind eye to this one? i have respect for errol but this one is crystal clear.
Once again. Idiotic statement. Memes and gifs don’t make it correct. Ugas stepped in and did his thing. A duck is not signing the fight. If it was a true duck without a valid reason he could be sued by PAC, the promoters, etc.
A confirmed detached retina? This is why I rarely post here and just look for updates about fights. That’s a dumb statement.
I’ve got a lot of respect for pac. But his fans….

i doubt. didn't he just made excuses a week before the fight with pac?

Not taking anything from Crawford, he was masterful and I enjoyed his dominance. My point in saying that Spence is past his prime is his demeanor and how he lost the fight. His punches no longer had any snap in them starting in round 4, too early to run out of juice for someone in his prime.
Crawford has been preparing for this fight for more than half a decade while spence and his team never wanted it to begin with. Coming into this fight Crawford just had a gigantic mental advantage and confidence because he knows his truth that he never shied away from the fight. He nullified and negated everything Spence has to offer and has seen those moments a hundred times in his dreams. While Spence’s and his team’s fears just manifested even more as the fight went on, and they got brutally reminded why they never wanted any part of it.
Anyone out there not name Crawford would have been on the receiving end of Spence’s fury, pummeled with broken eye sockets. So I disagree with him being past his prime, he just met an immovable object full of conviction and belief that it was his moment to rise.
There is no winning against naysayers though, if spence won he’s not past his prime, if he lost he’s past it. Same goes for Crawford. When he pummeled Ugas everyone was saying he still on top of his game, and imagined what he would have done to pacquiao. When Avanesyan was laying leather on Crawford, they say his age is finally showing. Now, its Spence who’s past his prime. Don’t be that guy.

Bud beating Spence is equivalent to Floyd beating a 2009-2010 version of pacquaio?
Not even close, because A. 2009 Pacquiao wasn't a 33 year old slurring alcoholic who got ruined from a car crash, B. Gayweather wanted no part of 2009 Pacquiao.
