So did you have Kovalev winning the fight before the KO or was it a fixed fight? Or both? The fight was fixed AND Kovalev was winning?
Or maybe the agreement was that Canelo allows Kovalev to win on points until the 11th round, and then Kovalev needs to open himself up for Canelo’s power punches? Right?
Why didn’t Gatti, another fighter McGirt trained, threw virtually no power punches at Mayweather either? He just jabbed, jabbed, jabbed and the few times he tried anything else, he got caught. What is it with McGirt fighters and the jab obsession? And McGirt fighters being in on fixed fights?
Kovalev was winning by shutout until the fix kicked in....shameful.
Sadly broner will never be beaten by a relative unknown fighter. It’s just not good business wise. They won’t be able to do nothing with Santiago had he won.
Al can still make a broner vs Danny garcia crossroads fight or use him to lure Crawford to pbc.
What you say is true, but also sad, because it means boxing is a sham "sport."
Which is a big reason boxing is so marginal in 2021. What kind of a sport is it when even the fans have come to expect, and in some cases accept, that a lot of fights will be decided by corruption and not by what happens in the ring?
Broner actually did lose tonight.
But the fight was another in a long line of fixes that boxing fans have come to expect.
So much so that it's hard to even get worked up about it anymore.
Badou Jack clearly knows it was a fix but he also knows he can't say it or he will be blackballed out of the sport.
But interpreting his responses and disappointed tone, HE KNOWS IT WAS A FIX. As we all do.
It was a horrible, horrible fix.
I hate Oscar so much, he's a cartel puppet.
Did you see the fight ???
It was fughin horrible
I like Del Boy but Wallin made him look atg and the commentary made him sound like the best thing since toast bread
That's pretty harsh. Del Boy made it entertaining enough. There were some good exchanges in that fight. It wasn't a bore.
Wallin appears to have peaked against Fury. It's been mostly downhill since then.
Overall, it was far more enjoyable than I expected it to be.
Another fixed fight brought to you by Al Haymon. Boxing fans just take this stuff for granted at this point.
No wonder boxing is the very marginal sport it has become. These crooks just spit in your face and tell you to like it.
117-110 for Broner, who was outlanded by over 100 punches???
Sure, sure.
What’s with the hate for Tyson Fury? The guy had big personal problems, was public with those problems to try to help others...
Interesting how Fury developed this major depression problem when he was faced with rematching Wladimir, and after ducking the rematch, twice, he then got better.
Now he's supposed to rematch Wilder, and it seems like every day lately there is a story about Fury leaving boxing to do WWE, to do MMA, and whatever else. Maybe he'll take up Sumo wrestling as well...
What's different about his face is he has an inquisitive look on it, not his usual affable self.
There's a bit of confusion on the expression of his eyebrows, and goofy looking smile which looks odd.
It has nothing to do with any veneers, that's not what stood out as far as I'm concerned, or as probably Tecnoworld observed.:boxing:
He's had work done to try to look more pretty, He a beautiful bumblebee like Mike Tyson.
mike tyson I am a bumblebee - Search (bing.com)
OH PLEASE!!!! The fans are a bunch of whiny victims. They pay for Jake Paul fights, they pay 100 dollars to watch crapola! These same fans? they biatch when you tell them the lineal is their power and ask them to exercize it... They cite every alphabet contrived title and then they wonder why Arum takes all their shekles and gives them shiat in return...
Last I checked people do not get robbed by Walruses!!
That boxing card cost Americans $80+ and Brits paid $34.99 US for the same show.
Straight rip-off of American boxing fans.
I think he raised a valid point of objectivity in journalism. I was watching lots of interviews in the build-up for this fight. It was an AJ show. Usyk, the great champ, was virtually nonexistent. At best, someone in passing would say:"Yes, Usyk is great boxer" and only while discussing what AJ should do to beat him. The whole boxing journalism (with a few exceptions) turned into AJ cheerleading squad. It was embarrassing. If Usyk were to be paid proportionally to how much attention he got compared to AJ, he'd be fighting for free. In fact, he'd owe us money. It was disgraceful to watch - the whole boxing world and AJ vs a truly talented, humble, decent guy from a war-torn Ukraine. So, I'm glad someone publicly raised it. And I'm even happier that he won. And they all lost.
Great comment. But how sad is it that we have to be happy that a guy who won the fight easily just got by with a split decision win?
They figured they would either rob Usyk outright, or if it was too one-sided for that, create a narrative about how "close" it was,
how the great AJ had tried so hard but just fallen short. This will make a big difference in public perception of AJ going forward
rather than admitting he got smoked, again.
When the truth is, AJ won a couple of rounds.
That wasn't "journalism" we saw around the AJ-Usyk rematch. It was typing.
the guy is an egomaniac. ward, like conor and mayweather, become so full of themselves and their heads become so far lodged up their own asses that they start wearing big round glasses - "Mhmmm yess, quite. I found his performance, frankly speaking, very droll and uninspired. *sips red wine from diamond glass*"
m8, we saw you lose to krusher and then smack him in the balls fifty times in the rematch, we dont need you to comment on every fight as if you are the supreme knowledge on anything and everything boxing.
nothing more cringe than seeing people wear glasses to appear 'more smarter', they always carry themselves like such pretentious *******s.
I was going to comment, but you summed it all up already. Nice going.
Green k.
yea - Canelo knew Ko was coming along with the vast majority of boxing writers/insiders/oddsmakers/ and knowledgeable boxing fans who predicted this outcome the moment the fight was made!!!!!
Corrupt ODLH gave us this sickening fix!
Canelo couldn't buzz weight drained Chavez and Jacobs, but now he barely touches Kovalev and the Krusher folds like a cheap lawn chair. WWE-level theatrics!
Isn't this guy like 65 years old? Who wants to see Fury fight a senior?
Fury has fought seniors before, like Wlad was when he fought him. Nothing new for that abuser of senior citizens. He
also got his ass knocked to the floor by a not young Steve Cunningham.
Just give the title to the Diamond Boy.
Fury seems to need rehab more than he needs another fight. That dude is always sweating, gurning and sniffing in every interview now.
Lool he's the biggest fake and serial liar in combat sports. Why do none of the media address the elephant in the room when it comes to the gypsy fraud; he's the most boring HW fighter to watch in modern times. His 'fighting' (more like holding, running away, and clubbing with his grandad arms) style is an excitement killer.
From what I read, even people who used to like Fury are getting sick of him lately. They are tired of the two-faced comments, the serial lying, and this "I might leave boxing soon" attitude.
You wanna leave boxing Fury, please leave and quit talking about it.
"and he’s got the outside-of-the-ring problems too. And no network wants to touch that."
oh man I wonder what those problems are?
Yeah, I wonder about that too!
Santiago looks like if he got paid for the loss like he didn't care. This is a freaking fix.!!!
I think he knew Haymon was gonna bone him, and of course that is what happened.
It's very hard to take this "sport" seriously anymore.
I thought the article was going to explain why that happened but it doesn't say anything. Can't someone get the story on this?
Nobody knows, the boxer ran out of the arena and talked to no one.
Thank you for the info. He said he donated his entire purse (9 million pounds) though and not to random Gypsy friends, but to UK charities. https://talksport.com/sport/boxing/491322/tyson-fury-news-gypsy-king-worth-deontay-wilder-purse-charity-rematch/
A quick Google search finds no record from anyone other than himself that he donated any money either to charities or other travellers. That's strange. Organizations always advertise it because others then might donate. When asked about it, he says he doesn't want a pat on the back. I straight up don't believe him. Lying about donating to charity is super low.
The guy who wrote this expose on Fury's constant lying might want to look into this charity thing. Fury has also been telling stories recently about bumping into random depressed people and "saving their lives." I've read two different accounts of these incidents: in one, an unidentified depressed and suicidal man shows up at Fury's house, they go for a run, and the man is miraculously instantly cured of his depression!
The charity story and these recent "savior" stories are particularly odious if untrue. And the writer of the this piece is right: today's unpaid or underpaid boxing "journalists" are often just worried about access to fighters and press passes to big fights and won't rock the boat by calling out a big name like Tyson Fury. He feeds them sensationalist BS stories and they line up begging for more.
Tyson Fury must surely be challenging for the "biggest liar in sports" title at this point!
M*A*G*A is a redacted word here! LOL.
No "Election Interference" going on here, right?
Strange, but I doubt many people are coming to this site looking for political coverage.....
