yea dog.... salido right now reminds of how marciano eventually got down and mastered his looping right hand with timing and traps ..... In the gamboa fight it looks like he used that punch in a desperation attack...but in the lopez fight his whole game plan seemed revolved around punch.... like in the beginning of the fight and early rounds he went to the body hard and dipped his head in the same fashion he does when throwing the looping right hand ... that movement got embedded in lopez brain and so he associated that with getting hit to the body .... so later on salido began to experimenting with the timing and angles of the punch kinda in the same way martinez did with paul williams in the second round .... then he made a very important discovery that sealed the fate of lopez... he realized that when he dips his head lopez punches land on the forehead or top of the skull and he cannot be hurt .... the only punch that could juan ma didnt throw the uppercut... and another important aspect of the sequence of dipping your head is that the opponent's eyes most likely are gonna be locked on the head.. so if you happen to dip their concentrating on hitting target ... so since he realized he cant be hurt by juan ma ... he would throw at the same time juan ma was but the difference was juan ma's punches landed on the top of salido's dome but orlando's overhand comes from a blind spot in a way because of the positioning of his head and the way he throws that beautiful overhand.... it comes from his thigh almost and he hides it very well.... but since he went to the body earlier that movement of dipping his head is associated with body punching .... that's why that overhand is so deadly... its not some brawler just slugging with bad technique... its a masterful strike perfected and used perfectly with tactics and strategies... **** straight out of the art of war and the book of five rings... and if you watch the fight again you see juan ma has no idea what keeps hitting him until its too late ... salido vs gamboa 2 would be interesting if salido can come up with the proper strategy cuz gamboa is vunerable but too much speed and intensity kept salido off balance and uncomfortable .... but if they fight again and attacks the body with the same commitment and intensity he did to juan ma.... that right hand can win it for him if it lands flush... salido has a lot of subtleties that are beautiful to watch as a boxer
if floyd was sayin khan ducked vargas than floyd wants the top fights for his guy than again floyd was just talkin out his ass probably . but thated be some sh1t wouldent it . prob best card ever
Serio huh that foo floyd did say that... you think vargas and floyd spar? vargas probly walks around the same weight as floyd ... but dayum does anyone know if we could send a petition or something for maidana to get on Sept 17... like have everyone that supports maidana send mail and letters to golden boy for them to put em on the card
maidana vs jesse vargas
Dat **** would be tight right there.... but you think mayweather would be down to put em in with a savage like maidana? vargas might be too green right now and his style is tailor made for maidana .... but if that foo does end up winning **** his stock goes way up overnight... than maybe vargas vs rios dayum
maidana is jww version of marciano ... infinite amount of heart... his punching technique is not fundamental but the angles and power along with timing makes up for it and then some.... plus his recovery rate is top notch as well.. and will fight anyone... definitely from the dying breed of throwback fighters
Pac vs Diaz was the beginning of the end for everybody else ... psychologically at least ... gave em a tyson like aura striking fear into his future opponents
Mayweather vs Gatti showed how finesse and timed aggression can be combined to destroy your opponent mentally ... and eventually physically ... floyd is true chess master
Joshua Clottey and Arthur Abraham too.... they take punches but never really been severely hurt.... it might save them from brain damage too since they don't get hit flush as much as other fighters
Sick ass ****ing shirt that foo has....
The only other shirt I've seen like that was a brown Sugar Ray Robinson with the Ring Logo.... I think affliction made it but am not too sure
I've been looking for some everywhere too .... I think the best thing to do would possibly hit up somebody with a silkscreen or presser and get em customized
They dehydrate themselves and lose water weight. One of the biggest weight in /fight night differences that I know of was Gatti vs Gamache. Gatti came in at 160 for a 140 pound fight. I was watching the McClellan vs Jackson 2 fight and I remember one of the announcers saying that the G-man is around 180... that was for a 160 pound fight. After the weigh in... I think fluids and electrolytes are consumed in a hurry and possibly have a little more priority over food.
Do you fight pro or amature?
Yea pretty much. For me it's like a disease. I walk around at 140-146 and fight at 126. Every fight I promise myself I won't binge eat afterwards and just can't help myself not to.
It's all mental, the fact that I know that I have the freedom to eat whatever I want sets me spiraling out of control. I can't stand it but I can't help myself either. Sometimes I don't even want to eat the certain food but the fact that I know I'll have to cut weight again in a couple of months makes me want to eat it just so I take advantage of it.
I basically have no control/will to tell myself "ok I'll be ok with just this Sinckers bar and that's it for the day." Anyone else have this disease lol?
Hearns-Benitez
Leonard-Benitez
I think these are good ones, not because they're intimidating, but because of how smug and confident Benitez looks staring two of the greatest fighters of all time straight in the eye.
4 realz dog.... that foo Benitez had that straight g stare. Fearless Legend.
Damn dog this is one my role models. Some bunk ass news to hear, the sad part is that he doesnt get the appreciation he truly deserves. His fighting style was straight art and war mastery. Fought with his soul.
