Ok please no fanboy **** in here.
Just please post your favourite fight in both Pac n Floyds Career and Why?
The reason is Im just after rewatching Mayweather - Marquez fight and weight difference aside it just a masterful performance want to know if there is there any other great fights from May or Pac have been in that I have not seen yet?
Okay ill start
Fav Mayweather Fight - Either Vs Marquez (as it was the total domination and mismatch of the No3 p4p at the time) I really enjoy watching the sheer brilliance of his boxing skill in any fight and it pisses me off the lack of acknowledgement he gets
Fav Pacquaio fight - Prob Vs Morales (which he lost, I know, but it is a brilliant fight) of against Marquez

Pac vs Cotto...didn't like the catch weight but he put tips on Cotto. After the first round I thought if Cotto stayed composed he had a real chance.
Pac vs JMM 1st fight...thought JMM won but the exchanges were classic and Pac showed he could take as well as receive.
Floyd vs Gatti...the build up had me hooked, he went into Gatti's backyard and looked very aggressive. Combos and just utter dominance.
Floyd vs N'dou...he was so much bigger than Floyd and Floyd showed everything...he would throw a nice combo then N'dou would come back and start throwing but Floyd would show that classic shoulder roll. The 3 straight rights to end the fight was off the hook!!
Floyd vs Diego(R.I.P)...don't really need details on this one...first time Floyd was the underdog!!
Pac vs Diaz was the beginning of the end for everybody else ... psychologically at least ... gave em a tyson like aura striking fear into his future opponents
Mayweather vs Gatti showed how finesse and timed aggression can be combined to destroy your opponent mentally ... and eventually physically ... floyd is true chess master
Pac vs DLH...I'm a hardcore anti-Hoya dude so it was a BEAUTIFUL display by Manny that night...he stamped Hoya up something nice :lol1:...and then got his punk ass to quit on the stool....man I watch that fight ALOT lol
Floyd vs Mosley....he got rocked and showed some metal....he showed what I KNEW he had but just wanted to see him put on display...even though he got rocked I have to give Floyd a A plus for that performance....funny thing is that I had points and REAL cash on Shane lol
This. ****in hate DLH too lmao, i've seen that fight about 6 times I believe. Manny made me a truly happy fan that night.
As for Floyd, the focus and composure he showed against Mosley is why I believe he's as close to boxing perfection as I've ever seen.
Floyd-Chico. No one could deny that Floyd was the truth after that night.
Pac-Oscar. One of the greatest night in boxing history. Justice was served that night. I watched it again 2 nights ago. And, might watch it again tonight.
Idk not really into PAC too much ..thinks he's overrated but I think about all of mayweathers fights are great except the 1st Castillo fight. I'll have to say corrales for mayweather was very impressive and PAC prob David Diaz just because he destroyed that man..if my memory serves me correct pac even gave diaz part of his purse after the fight..the hatton win was very impressive for PAC too..by the way not hatin on pacman just think he's overrated..alot of these guys mayweather beat in thier prime..PAC beat them later on..
I agree with you on that man. Not to hate on Pac some of his fights are unreal but he is an all out relentless machine with actually very little boxing skill he is just so orthodox he confusses the hell out of opponents.
Thats exactly what I do not like about him if that makes sence.
Mayweather on the other hand is just Pure Boxing Skill. He defines what boxing is = Hit and dont get hit!!! Incredible to watch enjoy him while hes here, best of our era

Pacquiao: Second Marquez fight. Easily my favorite Pacquiao fight, Pacquiao was in with a guy that had his number but on sheer talent fought him even.
Mayweather: Corrales fight. What a fighter Floyd was in that ring.
The title says best performances, not best wins, it says nothing about best performances against legit top fighters at their best.
Actually the title says "Your Favorite Performance(s)." But yeah, it's all subjective.
Pac vs Cotto... He shook with that 1. This little featherweight dominating a welterweight WITH EASE... I mean, sure he could have won, and sure it could have been 1-sided, but I expected a boxing lesson at best... He destroied him
Floyd vs Mosley/Corrales... Its a tie, and if u saw the fights, u know why they're here... What can be said?
Pac vs Kareoke Machine (Machine commit suicide from his horrible voice)
Floyd vs His Wife (Accumulation of punches, Joe Cortez let him pot shot her and took a point from her for holding)

Pacquiao: The Marg fight. It was a joy watching Manny pound that cheating rat fukk's face in. :lol1: Good times.
Mayweather: Emmanuel Augustus. Mayweather was a freakin beast in that fight. If he fought like he did in that fight for his whole career, there's no doubt that he would be much more loved by the public.
The title says best performances, not best wins, it says nothing about best performances against legit top fighters at their best. So for all I care I could add Mosley, Corrales, Castillo II, Hatton, Hernandez, Gatti, Manfredy, Ndou, Sosa, Judah, Corley, Chavez, Burton, for Mayweather cause those were all great perfroamnces. And I can add Barrera 2x, Morales 2x, DLH, Clottey, Cotto, Margarito, Hatton, Solis, Diaz, Larios, 3K Battery for Pacquiao.
But i'm making my own rules, adding who the fighters were at the time because a great performance for me makes it great because off who the fighter is and how good they were at the time. Otherwise Lucian Bute has the best and most dominating performance this year if we're not caring who the fighter is at the time of the "great" performance.
My favorite Floyd and Pac fights are the ones I saw live, Floyd-Chico was a masterful performance, I was not a Floyd fanboy at the time, I saw no way this lil dude is going to beat Chico. I was pulling for Diego cause I thought Floyd was a rotten human being for saying he's dedicating the fight to battered women everywhere, that was a low blow. I didn't realize the brilliance, Floyd was breaking Chico down mentally before even stepping in the ring. And what happened was unreal, best performance I ever saw live.
My fav Pac is vs Mab, again I was wrong, I thought this would be an easy opponent for MAB. My uncle watched a few rounds and said "that asian is going to best him". Said his movement was way too fluid, sporadic, herky jerky. Said MAB is too slow to handle it, I didn't believe it so was stunned when Pac stopped him. And unlike his current performances, the specter of PEDs had yet to enter the fray. So I was able to enjoy Pac more back then. With him not wanting to test, its hard for me to enjoy his fights now.
People bought in to the Mayweather vs Mosley fight because Mosley was coming off two TKO wins and was the 147 Lineal Champion.
Pacquiao didn't beat Marquez in the second fight, let alone dominate him enough for me to call it one of his best performances. Oscar still had something left in the tank when he fought Floyd at 154, but notice I didn't mention him that's because that wasn't one of Floyd's best performances IMO.
Who are these experts? I'm far from an expert and i'm pretty bad at predictions and I predicted Pacquiao would stop Cotto, so I think I should start my career as a boxing expert. Looking good in the first 6 rounds, suffering 2 knock downs and losing at least 5 of 6 rounds, that's not game, that's getting wiped out en route to a stoppage.
I take in to account where the opponents were in the performance.
May: Gatti was past prime and close to retirement.
May: Juan Manuel Marquez was 2 weight classes above his best weight.
May: Judah was coming off a loss.
May: Manfredy lost to every top fighter he fought.
Pac: Morales II, Morales was just coming off a loss to Raheem.
Pac: Cotto was the underdog, damaged, almost every one predicted he was gonna get stopped and that's exactly what happened. Also coming off a poor performance against Clottey.
Pac: Margarito wasn't even a top 10 WW, or top 10 JMW.
Pac: De La Hoya hadn't fought at 147 in 10 years and wasn't a top 10 WW.
Pac: Mosley was coming off two poor performances.
Best performances from each fighter, against actual top fighters who were actually good/still had something left at the time:
Mayweather: Corrales, Hernandez, Hatton, Mosley, Castillo II
Pacquiao: Barrera I, Hatton, Clottey, Solis
For Pac: I would disagree with omitting Marquez II and putting Cotto in the "shot" category. He didn't look great against Clottey (nobody does, besides Pac) but he didn't look terrible either. I think the first half of the Pac fight showed he was very game, it's just his chin couldn't hold up yet again. Almost everyone picked him to be stopped? What? Odds favored Pacquiao, but if anything many boxing experts figured it would be very competitive.
I would categorize him closer "neutral win" rather than a good or bad one, along with something like Mayweather/Mosley. Mosley was inactive, overtrained, and somewhat close to the version that fought Pac IMO. People bought into the hype too much of a great win that was already 1.5 years old by the time he fought Mayweather in his next fight. Not a bad win, but not a great one either.
