Tyson got screwed by don king for most of his money. Tyson's career is similar to Pacquiao.
Both got screwed for millions by greedy promoters.
Floyd is his own promoter and controls the money. Goldenboy only gets a fee.

While I love to see a great KO, I don't take pleasure in seeing a man possibly seriously hurt. For a second there, I thought Manny was in trouble, I don't rejoice in that.
We should respect every fighter who has ever stepped into the ring because it's one of the toughest things you can do in life.
So I respect the great Manny Pacquaio and everything he has given us these past 10 years. He's a true legend and one of the greatest fighters to ever lace them up. A prime Manny was something serious to deal with.
It's hard to see a legend like that face down, and something you never want to see.

Exactly. Been reading these forums for years and when these type of KO's happened to other fighters Pac fans generally laughed. Especially when it was their guy dishing out the punishment (Hatton). But it happens to him and now they want civility. Pacquiao is not beyond reproach when it comes to being made fun of. Even the media tried to play that angle. "Pacquiao is a warrior and has given us many great fights." Yeah and so did many others. They can be joked about but not Pac. C'mon son. :nono:

Aware of the stigma of boxers and weightlifting, Marquez' old school mentality had him throwing stones in the mountains of Mexico...stones. That's how poor his preparation for Mayweather was. Mayweather came in comfortably over the contracted weight limit and never had any intentions of making weight. Mayweather refused to get weighed by HBO for their day of the fight weights. But, I guess you forgot about all of that.

i agree, spent most of my time on NSB the day after teh fight saying similar things.
i disagree about the fans though, pacquiaos fans are notorious for disrespecting other fighters every chance they get not to mention the sport as a whole. most of them had it coming, manny didnt though.
like i wrote after the fight it seems alot of fans just watch boxing out of hatred for their fellow man, to see them get hurt and then try to kick them while they are down. if a fighter boxes safely hes a coward and if he takes risks they mock him when it comes back to haunt him. its a lose/lose situation, like all they want is to see ppl get hurt or humiliated.
its really sad how much pleasure ppl get from others misfortune. i love a knockout, but for the drama and the celebration of the winner. not out of enjoyment over the losing fighter getting hurt and i would never think of kicking him while hes down by taunting him further.
that there are huge threads of ppl doing just that and getting so much pleasure from another mans misfortune, trying to take every bit of dignity away from him and going on about how "epic" it is almost makes me lose faith in humanity.

Some good posts, minus the obvious trolling. I see where folks are coming from saying they are glad to see certain posters who were hateful towards certain fighters, having one of their fighters brought down a peg, but it still reflects on the actual fighter in the end. Rivalry is good in any sport, but in boxing it just becomes more of a sensitive issue because in this sport, losing badly sometimes means getting badly hurt.
Pacquiao getting ko'd comes with the territory when you are a fighter.
He has been ko'd three times now in his career. This is nothing new.
I feel he can come back.
