He has defended against some unranked fighters but most of today's champions are guilty of that. He is ranked number 1 in the world by boxrec. He has defeated Mares who bolxrec ranks 4th in the world and Frampton who boxrec ranks 2nd in the world. He is not a paper champion or a coward. He is number 1 and has defeated number 2 and number 4. Maybe you don't agree with boxrec's rankings but they are the only neutral source I could find quickly.
What was his purse in a Frampton fight?
Can't agree with your post . You sound a bit salty .
But if it makes a difference ... I've been to both guys gyms a number of times and Leo is a humble , welcoming down to earth guy .
While Mares acts like a prick .
Will be cheering for Mares then, if I'll deign to watch the fight.
I thought he won the first fight. He clearly lost the rematch.
He says the same. He blames himself, his mental state, his approach to the rematch + alcohol problems. The second loss has changed him, so he is thankful to God that he sent him Ward as a test :) He says nothing about low blows, though.
Your 35...coach shouldn't matter at this point.
He talks about the start of his American career. He could not bring his trainer because of trainer's health issues.
The funny thing is he stayed with John for the sake of living in Florida, a paradise.
That is not what Kovalev said at all. He said that he felt he won the first fight, but was worried, very emotional, and approached the rematch very unprofessionally in terms of bad habits in his life. He blames himself and speaks in a very humble and humanly way. Absolutely no arrogance. I don’t know what people here are making up. They’re just haters. Also, the translators around him can’t do their jobs for sh*t, and barely speak english themselves, let alone be able to translate the intended meaning of his words, and not just in a literal word for word way...
****.
Considering Sergei is a religious person, how would you translate "God sent me Ward"?
Humble Sergei about his trainers: zero, uneducated, do nothing, sits and looks all day. Are they not useless? Where am I wrong?
Of course not USA, but Mexico, Mexican bowxing fans. They wanted this bout the most, but were deprived of the chance to determine who is the best Mexican boxer of this decade :dead1:
You say it's funny, but...
Mikey has won titles in 4 different weight classes.
Mikey was 2 weight classes smaller than Errol Spence. 140 was a stretch, 147? just ridiculous. This fight was a mismatch just like I called it. The only thing I was wrong about was that Spence didn't stop Mikey.
Mikey has beaten far more world champions (and he dominated pretty much all of them).
If Spence lost to Canelo, or even Golovkin, at 160 lbs, they wouldn't get elevated to #1 because of that win--- nor would Spence drop out of the P4P top 10.
Yeah. Mikey still should be ranked higher than Spence.
How many world/former champions has Spence beaten? How many of them were bigger than him? How many weight classes has he dominated in?
It's a P4P list. Pound-for-Pound.
Pound-for-Pound. Each pound of Spence's body was better than that of Garcia's in that fight, he was better in every aspect.
If prospect comes and beats Garcia 12-0 in 140, would you still rate Garcia above because he's 4 weight classes champ? It's a monthly updated list, not a decade overview.
140 was a stretch
He looked skinny in his last 135 weight in.
Mikey loses a fight to a fighter honestly two weight classes bigger than his peak weight class, and suddenly he gets nearly removed from the P4P list. It's not like he hasn't fought champions in recent years and kicked ass. It makes no sense to remove him from the list. He's still around #5 for me.
Spence does not deserve to be in the top 4. There are too many fighters doing far too well in this time period to rate him that high. If it was a few years back, then yeah, sure.
Let's put Mikey above Spence, sure, at least that would be funny ;)
96% GGG wins to 6% Canelo wins sounds accurate and correct to me.
use facebook video or my image as a refernce, and where did you find 96? I had a typo 4% in the text, not 96 or 6 lol
Lol .. I didn't see it live, but if that's what happened, I would say that GBP manipulated the poll result because they didn't want viewers to get the idea the fight was going to be some kind of mismatch.
96% picking GGG to win does seem very extreme though!
94 though, yeah pretty much unexpected.
That's the most obvious reason, to avoid the shame in front of his public. You can read the comments on Facebook, they all hate the draw, so such result is very much possible.
