man i was really looking forward to the unders and they were some stinky shyte!!!
You didn't really think they would be good did you? They were mis-matches from the start and victor ortiz and JuanMa opponents were not main support undercard worthy. I don't know why they didn't find them some quality opposition, especially when they're is so much out there.
Way too much talking. You would think that since they scheduled mis-matches on the undercard that they would have been prepared to start the fight a lot earlier.
This is the kind of thing that reduces the popularity of boxing. When will they learn to put better undercards on PPVs?
Your exactly right. Those fights didn't even look competitive on paper, let alone in the ring. I mean if you want to match those fighters up with less than stellar opposition than put them way down on the undercard, don't make them the cheif support for the main event. JuanMa and Victor are beyond the point in their careers where they can beat up on less than stellar opposition and its okay. Everybody knows what they can do now and they want to see them do it against quality guys. Whats worse is that HBO expects you to dish out 50 plus bucks to see those types of fights. I remember for that type of money you got an exciting main events and three good undercard bouts. Now your lucky to just get a good main event.
Their are fighters I like and then there are fighters I don't like but respect. For instance, I was a fan of Margarito until he started becoming arrogant and calling himself "the most feared ww on the planet." That turned me off towards him, but I still respect his relentlessness and his abilities. I like humble fighters who can respect their opponents before the fight and still beat the crap out of them once the bell rings.
As far as fans go, I try not to hold that against a fighter. Its not their fault they have male groupies who don't know the meaning of reality when it comes to their "chosen one." Like I was on this one message board and this one guy, in all seriousness, said that Pacquiao could have beaten a prime Tyson and Lennox Lewis on the same night. I mean how delusional do you have to be to make statements like that.
Kelly should fight him, he doesn't have anything else going on. I mean he was trying to make a fight that nobody wanted to see with Mora, so why not fight Arthur Abraham. That being said AA needs to step his game up, his opposition has been piss poor.
Hopkins was given a grace period of until 6:30 last night to make the weigh-in, but he didn't make it. Therefore he will miss out on his first boxing paycheck of the year. He was scheduled to make $25,000.
I couldn't believe when I saw they are going to allow Marlon B. Wrong to ref this fight. Although I do look forward to hearing him get booed during his introduction.
