Ryan Garcia hasn't fought in a year and there are discussions about him possibly getting an undisputed title shot against Kambosa? WTF | BoxingScene Community
I actually like Garcia but you got to be kidding me if this guy gets a title shot after not fighting for a year even with a tune up first. What the hell is the point of rankings and mandatories if stuff like this can possibly happen? If they fought and Garcia won how worthless would that be for the sport? People wonder why boxing is in the shape that it's in.
It pays to be popular. And I think they’re going to give Kambosos a multi fight deal which is what he wants. Can’t blame dude for wanting a little more security and a fight that’s more than winnable.
That's modern day Boxing for you. It's not about the worthy it's about who is worth what. Garcia went off on the sick when he was lined up for final eliminator but now comes back and gets to fight for 3 belts and some shitty piece of nonsense against the near enough undisputed champion.
Some don't seem to wana go to Australia when Kambosos has every right to demand it and some are willing to go. And like I said he was lined up for a final iliminator, he may not deserve it just now but he's not a bum who has been dragged out of nowhere.

- - This a Heinie coming out party for you?
Welcome to boxing.
There are two ways to get a shot at the title. One is by moving up the rankings and having a fight ordered by an org. The other is by bringing something to the champion.
Like it or not. Garcia has done the latter. Not everyone can be a star - but he and his team have got him to this position.
It's not particularly sport-based but, again, that's boxing.
