I think it's safe to say that Wilder will never be the same after these brutal beat downs at the hands of the Gypsy King.
I think he should only retire if he get beat from sum1 else
Look how many people here said that he was mentally damaged and he showed a lot off mental fortitude. He wanted to continue to but his body said otherwise. So many psychologists here.
There isn't much else he can do to improve coming into his late 30's. He should absolutely continue though. A fight with AJ is a 50/50, i would personally love to see more than ever and they would easily fill a 100k stadium for it so millions to be made there. Would also like to see a match up between him and any of Whyte/Ruiz/Usyk/Joyce/Dubois.... if he wants to go there is a good 3 years worth of big fights out there for him.
All those fighters would have to wait and sit on their hands and all the networks and promoters would need to not find their next new heavyweight

I would not call it brutal beatdown. Wilder has serious conditioning issues. Basically after 4th round he was 1 punch away from ko hardly standing. He was so tense and fired up with his punches that it just took too much from him. If he work on a pace, stamina and conditioning, i can see him having another title shot in 2-3 fights.
He needs to work on hist mental readiness 100%
Oh he will have plenty of ways to get the punch to land depending on his next matchup. Not everybody can do what Fury did to him believe it or not. And even Fury took right hands that were hard enough to KO pretty much any other HW right now.
He's done because he gets off quicker but he's going to be slower against an Usyk or against a Sanchez. If he returns at 37 you have to get networks who see his three losses to Fury as a detriment. Yes he fought better but only Fury, Joshua or Usyk are profitable and it's questionable on the latter two. The energy he used to get here was because he wanted to beat Fury, he's failed and if you thought he was terrible in promoting his last fight with Fury, he'll be even worse. Finally look at the quotes the man knows he can't do his "goal" of unifying the division and his scorched earth comments destroyed his likability and even with his amazing attempt he's not a good villain. All of these say to me maybe you get one last major fight before it's time to close the book on Wilder.
He'll be 37 if he takes a long break and he's not going to be able to make 220 since the reason for the weight gain is his metabolism is slower and he doesn't have ways to get the punch to land.

This is why boxing is so dangerous. There were so many moments where the fight could have been stopped but it was debatable, so the ref let it go on and he took more damage. Then when he got knocked down, he gets a standing 8 count to recover and continue getting damaged. in MMA he would have been taken down in those moments and finished on the ground, losing but preventing possibly 8 more rounds of damage.
With only 2 fights he has already taken career altering damage. But he can recover from it significantly, the right thing he did last time was take a very long break. Lets say he fought Fury 6 months after their rematch? He probably would have been ko'd early.

I guess we have to see Fury and Wilder against other top guys to get the picture.
Wilder is finished his interview in the hospital proved it he knows at his best he can't get the job done.

Wilder should comeback and fight dubois, or hrgovic, and/or joyce and whyte.
If fury is best Of era wilder can still be furys no2

It's very possible. After all, he did eat a lot of flush punches against Tyson Fury in his last two fights. In addition, I've noticed him having trouble with both his balance and equilibrium in the very first round each time he attempted to land a power punch and miss. Both his timing, accuracy and hand to eye coordination were off.
I don't know if it was a result of the punishment he absorbed in the rematch or that he came in at the heaviest of his career at 238 lbs. In any case, he appeared much slower, tired and fatigued than usual as his punches lacked the same snap or pop on them as well.
I don't know if he is permanently damaged only time will. Just speaking for myself; I would personally love to see him retire and never fight again. However, I will support whatever decision he decides to make. If he decides to call it a career I am all for it or if he decides to resume his boxing career I am all for that as well.
Remember that people were saying the same thing about Evander Holyfield when he was knocked out by Riddick Bowe in their third and final fight of their trilogy as well. Everyone thought that he was finished too and should retire but he came back to defeat Mike Tyson twice to when the world heavyweight titles again..
However, Judging by this trilogy with Tyson Fury one can never count Deontay Wilder out.because he has a warrior's spirit and mentality.who could still punch.

To be honest, I would pick Ruiz, Hrgovic, Usyk, Joyce and some other guys to beat Wilder.
I could see Usyk for sure, but he went 30 rds with the best heavyweight in the world and he still knocked him down 4 times. The most recent one was probably the most competitive so I think he’s gotten better in that timeframe. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen him with anyone other than Fury, so maybe he’ll fight someone else and think to himself, “Wow. This is a lot easier than against that other guy.”
You ****ing idiot he got obliterated twice in a row. Sustained beatings.
Hid brain is gone. He's been aged by 30 years from these beat downs. Moron
Dumbass do you know how many time on this board people said someone needs to retire after one loss? When Joshua lost to ruiz they said he should retire. Hell one of the announcer said tonight kownaski is finished. Is the likely hood of wilder being on a downward spiral even higher now yes but people are not finished just because they lose one fight.
In addition to the physical recovery, the mental recovery is also an issue. Fans and opponents won't look at him the same. He'll never get another title shot, so I can't see him putting in work to fight mid to low tier fighters on free tv for Fox.
