Another take on the OP question, what's the optimum sleeping pattern on fight night. Can't imagine they wake up at 8am. Noon ? 3pm ?
If I was a fighter and I had a fight scheduled for 11pm, 2-4 weeks before the fight I would train myself to wake up 4 hours before the fight at 7pm so that I would be as fresh as possible.
I understand what it takes to win, you take and you use every single advantage you can, no matter how small it is.
I've always wondered the same thing. I'd have to sedate myself pretty heavily to get any appreciable amount of sleep the night before a fight. I doubt most of these fighters are as high strung as me though. Most of them seem pretty calm and relaxed.
It's all in your head.
