How come it's always Al Haymon not willing to put his best vs other promoters' best?
A few years ago at 122, Rigo's promoter was willing to put their best guy vs Al's best guy, Santa Cruz, but Al wasn't willing.
At 126, Al let Loma-GRJ happen when Loma was coming off a loss looking poor, but that's the only time this has happened. However after Loma beat GRJ, Haymon didn't make any more unifications with his other best guys at 126 vs Arum's best.
At 130, Al seemingly learned his lesson and refused to put his best, Tank, vs Arum's best, Loma.
At 135, Loma called out Mikey, but Al or Mikey never seemed interested, and Mikey went to 147 to fight a PBC guy instead
At 140, not applicable on either side recently. Was either all Haymon guys, or all non-Haymon guys, at the top recently, it seems. If Prograis is with Haymon then there's a story to get into with him, Ramirez, and Arum, but Arum was willing to make the fight, just wanted to build it for a year. That's different than being unwilling period or waiting for guys to get old, which seems to be the Haymon way.
At 147, Arum is willing to put his best guy, Crawford, vs Al's best, Spence, but one of Al's spokesmen, Leonard Ellerbe, laughed at the suggestion and said they had no interest at this time.
At 154, all the top guys are with Haymon.
At 160, Tom Loeffler was willing to put his best guy, GGG, in his prime, against either of Al's top guys, Quillin or Jacobs, in their primes, but Al didn't. Al wasn't even willing to put Quillin vs Korobov, Arum's #1 guy at 160 at the time.
At 168, I don't remember any of the top Al Haymon guys facing the best guy at 168, Andre Ward.
At 175, Kathy Duva was willing to match her best, Kovalev, vs Haymon's best, Stevenson, but Haymon didn't do it or even make Stevenson vs Beterbiev in house.
At cruiserweight, all the other promoters it seems were willing to put their best guys in season 1 of the WBSS tournament, but not Haymon with his best, Tabiti. Only after Usyk moved up is Tabiti fighting in the WBSS.
At heavyweight, the Klitschkos were willing to fight Haymon's best, Wilder, last era, but Wilder "wasn't ready." Now Hearn's best, AJ, offered to fight Wilder for a 120 mil deal on DAZN, and Wilder turned it down.
It seems in almost every case, every other promoter is willing to put their best vs Haymon's best in each weight class, but it is always Haymon who is unwilling to do it.
Why?
