Am I the only one shocked this is going to be at AT&T stadium? I would of been seriously impressed if they could of sold out the American Airlines Center which holds 21,000. If the tickets are priced really cheap then maybe they can do 25-30,000 but it seems pointless going to such a large stadium.
In there last fights Spence did 12,604 and Garcia did 12,560. So if all the east coast fans travel that's a total of 25,164. If they price the tickets right it could do 30K I guess.
If you're in Texas or Louisiana you need to come to this show. We need to support these boxing events or sooner or later there won't be any big events like this in Texas. They'll all go to Vegas, LA or NY.
Who knows they haven't announced the ticket prices yet. That will be a huge factor on how many they can sell. I would keep the tickets low and raise the attendance figures. Or you increase the ticket prices and raise the live gate dollar amount of sold tickets. So it depends what they are going for maximize the live gate amount or fill the most seats.
Spence did 12K against Ocampo. They're hoping Spence brings that again and the Texan Mexicans come out to support their boy Mikey. Even though I don't care for the fight, I hope they do well financially. Would be nice to see 30K in there.
Only other fights at Cowboys Stadium were the 2010 Pacquiao fights:
vs. Clottey: PAID 36,371, ADMITTED 41,843, ANNOUNCED 50,994, LIVE GATE $6,359,985
vs. Margarito: PAID 30,37, ADMITTED 40,154, ANNOUNCED 41,734, LIVE GATE $5,404,760
I was thinking along the same lines. If he can do 12K against Ocampo, he and Mikey could shoot for 30K. And you forgot about Canelo's fights in the stadium.
Also Jermell said today at the press conference that he'd love to fight on an Errol Spence ppv undercard. Hopefully he wins easily and can fight again in 4 months.
With Jerry Jones behind it...they will pack in a nice crowd for sure, also a hometown fighter from Texas headlining yeah I think Texas will come out for it. They have to load up the Undercard and make it a Special Event from start to finish.
As for PPV Buys, pricing will be very KEY and also AGAIN Undercard. Give the fans their money worth like those old GBP Card, Richard Schaefer and Eric Gomez was giving fans STACKED Cards like 3 Main Event Quality Fighters on One Card which was great that is how PPV Card should be!
