I’m a proud Yank but I am enjoying the Uk boxing scene.
I was just informed about Josh Kelly in a post from another member today and he looks to be the leader of the pack with his special skill, amateur background, promoter and looks.
But my personal favorite is Anthony Yarde who is very inexperienced but to me has that “it” factor as does Kelly but I like guys who can punch, and with all of Kelly’s ability it seems he is lacking that proper power in his gloves.
So who do you think is the best of The UK prospects?
I agree. Yarde is my favourite at the moment. If only Kelly had a bigger punch he'd be the guy.
Exactly, with kellys style I think a little more power is needed to rise to championship level.
But it’s been done before, macho Camacho and Pernell Sweet Pea comes to mind

Don't forget that he was completely neutralised in the semi-finals of the Olympics by a mover
For the record Gvozdyk also got an Olympic bronze
Yep, that was exactly my point.
He will struggle with people who know how to balance range and know how to move well.
Who did he fight in the Olympics for? I really don't see why you think Buatsi will struggle, he got an Olympics Bronze which is more than anyone else did at the Olympics out of the current light heavyweight champions/contenders. Buatsi has all the attributes to dominate at light-heavy.
Where he was born matters more, you can't just pretend to be Russian like Roy Jones Jr, you belong to where you were born nobody can deny this.
I get it though, Brits and all the other Euro countries love to pretend other countrymen are their own they do it all the time in Soccer and now Boxing I guess.
Buatsi was schooled in the Olympics by a proper boxer who could balance range and good ring movement to leave him completely befuddled.
Just watched a small sample of his work and he seems to have excellent movement and instincts, but he seems to be a slapping puncher at best.
That could be a problem as he moves up, but yeah he can fight.
And just to make sure you’re talking about Joe Cordina correct?
Yea would not call him a slapper he may not have huge power but that's not needed as long as he hits hard enough. But he has some ways to go to be complete wont argue that but with how many fights he has had he looks like the goods to me.
Unless he turns out to be a "little light on left side"cant see him not becoming champ.Or have a bad chin/desire.

Josh Taylor has a higher ceiling than Josh Kelly IMO, kid has real elite level talent to my eye. I like Yarde but he gets hit too much - he'll need to improve a lot to hang with the top LHWs. Buatsi 's another one to watch.
On a lighter note what you think of Cordona?I think he is the best out of a very good crop.Thats not counting Tayler who I think is a contender already.
I’m not a Brit but I’m going to check him out right now

What do some of you Brits think of J Cordona he REALLY impresses me.Think he is best of a very good crop.BTW I consider Tayler a contender already.

Yeah just finished watching Josh Taylor, the kid looks to be the goods.
He is an entertaining fighter, with a passionate fan base.
Looks to me the best UK prospect.
But I wish him luck with his management, hope he doesn’t get robbed

Buatsi will struggle when he comes across a pure boxer, but you all said the best Brit prospect... Buatsi was born in Ghana and last I checked that ain't Britain.

I think its cordona that kid got great footwork and everthing else(except chin.heart has not been tested).I think Tayler is already a contender. And there is a lot of good prospects now over there Kelly to name one but Cordona has really impressed me the couple times ive seen him.

Trust Josh Taylor is the real deal and the closets to world-class/world champion out of anyone right now.. that's not to discredit others.. people like to hate for no reason.. but I can tell you like the sweet science.. so check some of these out
Ted Cheeseman (maybe his most recent win over Carson Jones?)
Josh Taylor vs Davies and Miguel Vazquez who taylor was the first to stop..
Josh Kelly is good just to watch for the style man.. people need to stop hating the guy is a fresh
Ryan Burnett vs Haskins/Zhakiyanov
Buatsi is really good/ Joe cordina is okay
Callum Johnson vs buglioni
Yafai vs Ishida
Ritson vs Cardle
STRONGLY recommend you watch Katie Taylor.. all of her fights are good..
Its easy to find out more about certain boxers by looking at Frank Warren's stable of fighters or Eddie Hearns via https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matchroom_Sport
Good looking out bro!
yeah I just can’t bring myself to watch women’s boxing, no offense to Taylor because I hear she is the goods.
Never seen him fight,
I’m going to check him out right now
