For those of you not paying attention, UFC has been doing very badly in PPV numbers. Ultimately, thats how they survive.
McRetard is UFC's last star. Floyd knocks McRetard the fcuk out, their last star will fall.
Some of you think the fight is a joke, but it's not. Floyd get's his 50th win and breaks that bum Marciano's record. Then the fall of UFC, what more could you ask for?
$45K. LOL. And this clown says it like it's really huge.
And they probably get a net of $10K after taxes, training expenses, ie, paychecks for trainers, aids, sparring partners, what have you.
$45K is like the purse pay for the lowest undercard in boxing.
You're the guy that said the UFC fighters aren't as greedy, wtf are you talking about? Are you concussed or something?
Greedy??? Did you fcuking say Greedy????
Mir got 45k for the Lesnar fight, 45k!!!!! Are you out of your fcuking mind????

Their fighters are not as greedy, so they're able to afford them.

Don't know what coffin you are talking about.
They're able to produce cards with non stop regularity like every weekend, PPV or not, for the past decades. It's not going to change any time soon.
Their fighters are not as greedy, so they're able to afford them.
Not to mention fighters on top fight each other, thus fans can actually follow them and look forward to every winner's next fight, which is always the guy on top.
Look a the PPV numbers.

They don't even show 2017 numbers because they're so low.
How did ward v kovalev 1&2 do?
isnt the pay per view numbers just america?
people all over the world pay to have it on there tv license.
theres lots of countries, each country pays to have it on there cable, satellite whatever,
thats a lot of money. hatton picked up a hell of a lot of monet maybe cause of uk fans.
both could survive with just usa and uk alone probably.
Yup. They've signed TV contracts all around the world. Brazil is a huge market for the UFC.
Bellator too., who's on Spike in the U.S. They've been making inroads in Europe in particular.
Why not just answer my question instead of blathering around it?
Sorry, it's apparent now that you fail to meet the minimum IQ requirement to continue the discussion.
Oh okay...
But your list of a few PPV estimates *proves* everything that you're claiming?!
What are you doing exactly?
Is this about you resenting MMA or something?
This is not difficult to understand... the UFC has been less and less dependent on PPV buys, in that they've been adding revenue sources; TV contracts, sponsorship, subscription service, etc.
WME was on a shopping spree. They likely overpaid for the UFC. They were even considering buying Formula-1 at $8 billion. Great timing by the Fertittas. But that doesn't suggest that MMA is dying or that the UFC is about to crumble.
BTW, I've pointed these things out myself... the UFC does not know how to create/build "stars" (which is what drives PPV buys). They've been fortunate that Ronda's and Conor's have come along. Without the stars, 300,000 buys is a reasonable number for a UFC PPV.
And as much as anything, the possibility of a Fighters' Union looms over the UFC/MMA.
But again, there's no "coffin."

Jones vs cormier 2 did 850k......
As to your question, he has to dominate/embarrass Conor for it to have any impact on the UFC. Winning 7-5 or 8-4 would be seen as an embarrassment for mayweather.
'Contractual Revenue' is defined as ___?
A couple of pie charts and graphs from Bloody Elbow doesn't support jack sh1t man. If you're going to try and get academic you're going to need real sources with real breakdowns.
If the Ferrita's are selling, they know better than anyone when to cash out.

No.
Not in the sense that your suggesting.
2014 was horrible for the UFC in terms of PPV. And they were just fine. By some reports they had a record year in revenue.

It could be argued that WME overpaid for the UFC, etc. But the sport of MMA is past the event horizon, if you will. It's here to stay.

Floyd beating Conor would not be the fall of UFC. They will have good cards for the fans to tune in to those cards.
If anything, the danger that UFC would have is the purses that boxers get in comparison to the MMA fighters. If Conor was able to break away to be a pro boxer and other fighters see how much he makes a fight, then other fighters may try their luck.
There have been some guys that have been in other fighting sports and migrated to boxing before. Jarrell Miller is one guy now that has done it
