I noticed that the vast majority of the ATGS are thug mentality. By thug I mean thug literally. Like if they weren't boxers, they'll be thugs.........how important is that?
What I say is true btw. Even Wladimir and Vitali, as educated as they were, if they weren't boxers, they would be thugs working for the Russia MOB.
I believe its importance to always push the boundaries of sportsmanship! (In any sport! Never play totally to the rules!)....whether this be by applying ruthless mind games, or turning a shot left hook into a elbow! (This is what Mike Tyson use to do sometimes! haha)...
I don't know how you'd measure it but you can put this graphic up on the tale of the tape.

1 thug life graphic = minimal thug mentality
5 thug life graphics = maximum thug mentality
Lol, or you could do a "thug level" 1-10, some of these fuggin imbeciles
It's different for each fighter. Look at Oscar De La Hoya, Shawn Porter, Tim Bradley, Ali, Errol Spence, Loma, and many others who I don't think would have been thugs at any time in their lives, yet they excelled in this sport. Boxing has always been a poor man's out, so it stands to reason there will be a lot of guys off the streets who are part of that life. One can only hope they pull themselves out once they see success, but too many of them don't.
Oscar also has stated that he was never in a fight outside of a ring.

I'll take guys like Alexis Arguello any day. He became a multi-world champion, showed others kindness and respect. I get behind guys like that over a$$holes any day.
Are you sure you meant to use the words "behind guys"...and "over a$$holes" in the same sentence?
imagine thug mentality at the tale of the tape :lol1: how do you measure it?

Boxers regardless of where there from are generally FIERCE competitors, especially at the highest level...a bad upbringing, where you have to fend for yourself, where you have to kill or be killed, where few can make it out of obviously builds a tremendous amount of character and puts you through situations far more dangerous than being punched. Guys who know it's back to nothing if they don't make obviously have more to fight for but it's not a prerequisite...I think Wlad is a ***** but his brother vitali had a ferocious desire to win. Look at Roberto Duran....came from the bottom of the bottom to world champion...Marco Antonio Barrera has a law degree and came from a privileged family....was one of the scariest most fierce competitors of his time. Completely different upbringings and mentality in that regard, but both shared a burning desire to destroy their opponents and win by any means necessary.
Yes because its that "thug mentality" that causes a boxer to get up and go to the gym every day or sacrifice his favorite foods to make weight...... You don't box do you?
Manny Pacquiao isnt a thug
You just have to be hungry, guys from the street are hungry because boxing is all they have

weight
thug mentality
imagine thug mentality at the tale of the tape :lol1: how do you measure it?
It's not, it's total bullsh1t, an act. You know how many "thugs" walk into a boxing gym or anything like it and leave in tears or completely embarrassed? Many trainers would prefer you leave that sh1t at the door so you can learn and not you think you know it all.
Does it sell as the villain? Yep, so that's fine as an act.
Does it get kids off the street and give them a purpose? Yep, which is great, but most kids need a real mentor if they don't have 1 or both parents.
Ward conducts himself professionally, Vladimir, Holyfield, Lewis, Bradley, Cotto, Canelo, Golovkin (yes I'll be nice this time), lomachenko, the list goes on and on of fighters who are professional and show/showed class. This is a sport for professionals, you want to be a thug, go get your ass out in the street and take your chances.
