Floyd was lucky to get the win against a 35 year old, past his prime, 1 fight In 3 years, ODLH. The fight could have went either way and I actually scored It 7-5 for Floyd. Floyd Sr felt that Oscar won. A prime Tito and Oscar would beat Floyd IMO.
that was Floyd mayweather first fight at 154. and he was fighting Oscar who is clearly better than Tito.
Tito also struggled to hit Bernard and got shut out 12-0 against Winky Wright. Both great fighters but not nearly as difficult to hit as Floyd, so anyone who thinks he's just going to beat him up you obviously don't understand boxing very well. Oscar beat Tito who barely hit him cleanly, and his defense is just good, and Floyd beat Oscar handily in a fight where he was outweighed 20lbs so the weight difference really doesn't matter, not if you can't hit the person. It's sad when one of the biggest Trinidad fans out there has to educate you all on this topic :nonono:
Trinidad would have beaten Floyd 10-2 at 154. There is no doubt in my mind. Too big and fast and skilled.
Yeah probably just too big, I mean if you really wanna match Floyd in history it should be with 135-147 fighters tops, he is not a 154 fighter even though he won 154 fights he is a small 147 fighter, just a great fighter than can fight outside his weight class, but its a different deal going up in weight when its against a bigger guy who is also a ATG.
Comedy thread. Tito got made to look foolish by Oscar and struggled to land any meaningful punches against him, and you seriously think he would beat the greatest defensive boxer of all time? You're tripping or letting your hate for Mayweather get in the way of common sense. I love Trinidad but it would be Mayweather-Mosley all over again. A power puncher against a complete virtuoso.
Well it's too bad we will never know these mythical matchups. Tito is my second fav fighter next to Morales. So I'd root for him against Floyd even if I wouldn't bet against floyd. Still I love the support for Tito, proves he's a fan favourite. I have trouble with the word "Prime" though. What's that even mean? On their very best day? So wouldn't the opponent be allowed to be compared on their very best day? How long did Tysons "Prime" last? Floyd was better at 35 than ODLH was at 35? Holyfield beat up a younger Tyson. I so love Tito and he was great for being trained by his father eating whoppers in his hammock, but he had a lot of garbage in his technique.
As good as Mayweather is I agree that Trinidad. would beat him and most other 154 pounder in history. !54 was Trinidad's perfect fighting weight. He was a champion at 20 years old and won over 20 title fight in a row before losing to Hopkins at age 30. He wasn't quite a full middleweight although he could punch like a light heavyweight. He power came from speed and leverage and not illegal hand wraps. He was never quite as good after Hopkins KOed him but he was still very good. Winky Wright beat him easily after the Hopkins loss at 160. Winky Wright had a very tough style for anyone to deal with.In fairness to Mayweather he is not a big welterweight and certainly not a 154 pounder. At 147 I think Mayweather is very hard to beat as history has shown.
A natural 140 easy to make 147 as you state all true than what was the IV for against Pacquiao ? Steroid flushing
Well just going off his size, height, and walking around weight. But everybody's "body" is different. So I don't really know. His skills carried him well. I don't know anything about Floyd taking steroids. Far as I know, Pacquiao was the dude who didn't want the blood testing when their initial negotiations started. And since he started blood testing, his KO's disappeared. I'm not saying he took anything, but it seems odd. But then again, De La Hoya and Cotto were both dehydrated against Pacquiao.
But to be on topic. I just feel Floyd so good he gets compared to so many guys. This guy would've done this to him, that guy would've done that to him. It's never ending. Floyd's a small guy who's able to beat some 154lbs, that's awesome.
At the top level when has weight been the deciding factor? What did Canelo weigh in ring against Floyd? Would Canelo beat Tito? Trust me I love Tito, he's a family favourite. I saw the fight of the millennium, he couldn't drop Oscar. Everyone's punch output plus connect percentage goes down against Floyd, so the odds of that sweet KO go down. Weight and size is a good excuse for amateurs, just not for top level pros. Floyd beat ODLH better that Tito did. People said ODLH was too big. Oh he was also too big for Pac.

Size wise, Floyd Mayweather is a true 140lbs. He use to walk around in the early 150lbs? But I think 147lbs was just easier for him to make. Barely any weight cut at 147lbs. He's a small guy. 154lbs has never been his weight. It's stretching it for Floyd. For those who think weight doesn't matter, you obviously have never sparred or fought inside of a boxing ring. Weight divisions exist for a reason.

I think to be overrated is the best compliment. It means people admire or appreciate something about ur style or excitement that they are wanting to give u a bias. Tito was fun to watch. But he had no balance and could be flashed. No adaptability. He's dad would say in the corner "Same but harder, but don't get hurt". I loved Tito. But Floyd beats him. Tyson is the most overrated which means he's loved the most. After Tyson v Spinks I asked my Dad if anyone could beat Tyson. "Well son there is this guy named Evander Holyfield"...
