Not taking anything from Andre or making any excuses, but Sergey had nothing going for him prior or during the fight.
The point I am trying to make is that Sergey needs to find a new team that will look better for his interests if he wants to be successful at the very top.
His trainer, his team, his promoter, people around him... It's all a big mess!
Small things could make a huge difference on a night.
Kovalev doesnt need a trainer or a team. Hes a self made assassin for hire. Hes a pure Alpha Male.
really?

Didnt look very "alpha" to me, tbh.
He looks more like the half-a-man who plays the brave when he's winning and cries, fakes and turns his back when things become tough. Well, you know, more like a coward. A true man doesnt do those things.
Kovalev is a streetfighter...pure and simple. And like all streetfighters he will continue to gas after a short period of time. No metter how good...you are never going to see a 20 minute 1 on 1 street fight or bar fight.
No doubt about that, his team Is In shambles and as you said this Isn't an attempt to take anything away from Ward because he showed up and did his job.
all i hear is crying.......the problem is kovalov had a terrific team that had his back. he threw his own trainer under the bus. refused to do everything his trainer was asking. ran this training camp by his own comfortable pace. picture this, you are trainer for a fighter and he pretty much tells you u were the reason why i didn't win the fight. u overtrained me and he proceeds to run training camp how HE wants excluding u out. thats kovalovs fault not anyone else's. when is kovalov gonna take the blame for a lot of his own self destruction?
he f*cked himself not his team trainer or anyone else. get over it.
I said this after the Stevenson fight fell through. Any real promoter would've sided with Yvon, Stevenson, and Haymon and tried to get a better licensing fee offer from HBO.
Kovalev is surrounded by a bunch of inept individuals. Kovalev is also not shining example himself. Why anyone thought he could bring all that ineptitude against Ward and get a victory is beyond me. Ward was going to win this fight no matter what because he was up against a less prepared team.
