Daniel Jacobs may be co-main event on Golovkin-Canelo undercard

Four pages and not a single mention of who he is supposed to be fighting. Can you at least find out first before starting threads like this? Is he rematching Mora again or what?

Is Ryan Martin signed with Golden Boy or K2? Steve Kim tweeted that he is on the Golden Boy ESPN card for June 30 and if he wins likely will be on the canelo undercard.

I don't see how Jacobs opponent could be Tureano Johnson. Just last week Johnson and GBP were involved in a purse bid for a fight with Sergiy Derevyanchenko: http://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/id/19552712/dibella-entertainment-wins-sergiy-derevyanchenko-tureano-johnson-middleweight-eliminator-purse-bid GBP lost the purse bid, DiBella (in reality Al Haymon) won it. So Johnson is supposed to fight Derevyanchenko. Not sure where Jacobs fits in this picture. Also, if I'm GBP I keep Lemieux away from Jacobs. Jacobs is a mover and a big middleweight. Lemieux would have a hard time with a guy like that. No need to risk a potential Canelo payday for a Jacobs fight perhaps Johnson isnt interested in fighting for 60 grand, and if GBP and Haymon were already talking about a Jacobs-Johnson match that would explain why GBP made such a small bid. And no way they do Lemieux-Jacobs in a co-feature bout. As a matter of fact I doubt GBP would do Lemieux-Jacobs period. Decent chance Lemieux loses and theres no money in the fight.

I like this. They're setting up the next possible fight. If GGG wins, the Jacob's rematch is naturally next. Of Canelo wins, jacobs should be next.

Lemieux isn't turning down a title shot to get whooped up on. I've said Korobov or Lee would be good opponents for Jacobs since everybody else is probably tied up.

Cotto is way too small for Jacobs and Lemieux. I doubt Cotto will fight either of those guys at 160. If Cotto fights someone like Lemieux he will do it at a catchweight. No way he does it at 160. Agree. No way he fights either one. They both stop him. And cotto's my guy.

Why would they do that though unless Jacobs signs with one of them I don't know but it's possible that K2 owes Jacobs a fight from the deal in march.

Why would they go get Jacobs for the card? If info is legit then they haven't decided who his opponent is. Lemieux has said he expects to fight someone bigger than Jacobs, so probably Cotto, though that seems hard to believe. Lemieux getting that Mando against Saunders seems likely, and I think he'd take that fight over Jacobs as well. So maybe GBP doesn't like the mandatory fight and is looking to establish tureano Johnson? I dunno
