Will the scoring of GGG/Canelo be shady? Will GGG need a KO to win?

I said the same thing in another thread. I don't see how anyone could think the cards wouldn't be iffy. GGG is 35 and not going to make more money for boxing after a few more fights while Canelo is arguably the biggest name in the sport and still in his prime. He lost damn near every round against Floyd and still got a draw on one card. GGG needs to beat him nearly to death or stop him or he loses on the cards. I like both guys so it's not making an excuse for GGG. It's the cynicism that goes along with watching boxing for 30 years. I'm kind of just shutting that out and going to enjoy what should be a classic of a fight. Well said. Canelo has years ahead of him and plenty to produce for the promoters in the future. Golovkin has to win decisively.

Boxing diehards that like to score fights probably use the app. I believe this app has been around since 2015. I haven't looked at those polls but I am not going to dispute that more people on boxing websites may have had GGG winning because he is the more popular fighter. None of what you posted changes the fact those using the fight score app had Jacobs winning. Added to that, a number of respected, unbiased profession boxing media members had Jacobs winning also. Is also Kovalev more popular than Ward in the US? because even in the US, all the polls had Kovalev winning. Think about the arguments you use. Golovkin won at least 6 rounds and scored a KD. That's a win. Period. GGG critics like DBN admitted GGG won after they rewatching the fight. Have some integrity.

Golovkin will need to visibly and obviously dominate Canelo to get the decision win. Several knockdowns. Bloody face. A tamed and beaten opponent. Which I think will happen. Otherwise, if it's a close fight, Canelo is guaranteed to get the love votes from the Golden Boy judges. Everybody knows that. It's a given.

We have already seen from Kovalev vs Ward that the fighter who clearly won can be robbed easily in the US and some of you are actually riding with the obvious robbery and Canelo is even getting more favorable decisions by the judges so this is a legitimate concern. I myself am totally convinced GGG will win, but i also know if the fight goes to the cards which could happen, he will need to win at least 10 rounds to get the decision, if he wins "only" 8 rounds he will be robbed and i know same as with the Ward robbery certain folks will just ride with it, out of stupidity or because it just suits their agenda.
