Both lara and jacobs seemed more worried about trying to outpoint the star fighter instead of seizing the moment and taking the fight to the star.
Lara :barely threw anything and ran around . Now hes pretty much evaporated into nothingness.
Jacobs: was coined as the guy who beat cancer and would not be afraid ofthe big bad wolf and take the fight to him. But instead tried to outbox gg and looked boring infront of a ton of people. Could he also be on his way to being forgotten
remember lance Armstrong passed tests for 15 years. my friends ripped me for saying he was juiced for years
I said the same. But he had a ton of people in the industry saying he was juicing. Where's there's smoke there's fire. If 5 boxing insiders not named paulie said he was juicing. I would start question
Years ago like Chavez jr when he was fighting middleweight? Bro it's wrong to accuse with out a failed drop

Your Elfen brother Manny is all about chemicals.
manny moved UP to fight much bigger guys. cowards like Jacobs Crawford and spence are much bigger then their opponents. I am still mad at you for having that video taken down where you are humping that fat momma :crackhead
there is no doubt in my mind they now have chemicals for these bums who are two weight classes bigger to make their weight. years ago if a CW like Jacobs dried out like that he would collapse after 5 rounds now they can fight 2 classes below their weight and go 12 rds

jacobs did his best man. he damn near won that fight. he just didn't have the boxing skills to deal with the jab before golovkin started to slow down. ithnk they prepared very well for a hard puncher. i bet jacobs was literally on the ropes in sparring and rolling shots to get used to it. they clearly didn't anticipate the jab, which is golovkin's best punch and the only reason he's gotten as far as he has.
lara, on the other hand, blew it. he had what it took and he threw it away.
close fights aren't robberies. people have been siting the adage that you need to "take" the title away from the champion for as long as people have been boxing, and that is 100% true. it shouldn't be a factor, but it is! if you're the challenger and facing a star or a potential star you need to look for a knockout or for damage that is so easy to score that you can't lose the rounds. neither guy did that. but credit to jacobs, who tried his best and proved a lot.
lara didn't try his best. he ran and avoided contact in spots where he could have taken risks and scored more points or even hurt canelo. he proved that he had the skills but didn't take the steps he needed to distance himself from a fighter who was slower than he was and who he proved could be beaten to the punch.
Not the same at all Jacobs actually fought and his stock without a doubt rose despite officially losing. He will get another big payday fans want to see him again and demand a rematch. Lara literally refused to fight and ran like a coward putting on a horrible performance that fans don't ever want to see again. There was no demand for a rematch. His stock fell and he's branded a boring runner. He's banished to fighting bums on Friday night.
I agree. I thought Danny lost a close fight and so did the judges but I can't wait to see him again, and I can't say I felt that he was a must watch guy before this fight (even if us hardcore fans watch it all anyway haha).
Comparing Danny to Lara is unfair. Danny boxed effectively with movement and came up a little short...Lara ran. Danny's performance should be appreciated and get him more big fights where as Lara's was hard to watch and now he can't land a big fight because of it.
my boy gennady deserves props for fighting a heavy guy put him down and win the decision. Read todays mailbag and understand that the weight advantage mattered. Weigh in was 38 hours before fight allowing jacobs to rehydrate to 180 plus. Jacobs tried to have an advantage by bypassing the IBF title rule but at the end he didnt get the decision. Major props to the GOAT.
And then the young money black muricanos realized winning was not enough to be a twinkle twinkle. The crowd was asking for blood, not "sweeet science doug, clinch inside fighing".
look at my all time favorites, mostly aggresive slick blacks.
Anyone know why Lara never targeted pinkboi? (Cotto). That's a payday where he would definitely be the favorite over MC. (Would jigga be afraid of matching them?)
You sound silly. He made the middleweight limit. That's all that matters right? Correct me if I'm wrong. Great fight by 2 world class athletes

yes Jacobs ate a lot himself coming in as a CW :boobies:

I'm sorry I don't follow. No one gave Jacobs a chance. That's the truth. Jacobs showed what he made of and made everyone eat their words

He might not become a PPV star but his stock is higher today then it was on Friday there is no doubt about that. Fans want to see him again he will get another big fight. That's why it's foolish to compare him to lara who ran and tarnished his name in that fight. His stock plummeted after that fight. Jacobs didn't run he out landed GGG in power shots when you land almost 150 power shots how can anyone compare you to a marathon coward sprinter like Lara. He boxed and was cautious but far from running.
yea i agree ,it wasnt a war doe ,that would be best promotion
Jacobs maybe won respect but i dont think he will suddenly make big cash , he will stay at stable level.

It is unfair to compare Jacobs to Lara.
Lara has made a career of underperforming in fights and complaining about the decision. I don't think I have EVER SEEN Lara and not thought "he should do more to try to win." I mean he was getting outhustled by Perro freaking Angulo!? If you have high aspirations, you need to handle a dude like Angulo. I laughed when the first Vanes fight was a draw, b/c even though I though Lara won, he stunk it just enough that a draw was reasonable. And Lara might have beat Canelo if he did more.
The OP makes it seem like he's comparing only 1 fight from each dude, Jacobs v. GGG & Lara v. Canelo, but that fails to recognize that Lara has a wide body of work where he turns a W into a L, or a lackluster disputed W.
I do hope Jacobs star rises a bit with this. He performed well. He fought passively at times, but he didn't run. But he was in with a HUGE PUNCHER. And he was very close to winning. I cant fault Jacobs like I fault Lara.
So Danny ran? WTF The only real knock I have on Danny in the fight was he could of been far more effective with the jab. Outside of that he fought an excellent fight. Was he really suppose to just stand in front of GGG the whole fight and exchange firepower? He stood his ground in spots and touched GGG up with some nice combos in several rounds. He also did some respectable body work. Some of ya'll talking like he ran a track meet and just tried to pot shot and hold his way to victory. Total nonsense.
I see your point. Both dudes fought rather passively. If they were more aggressive, maybe they win?
Or maybe they get KTFO. Both were fighting good punchers.
I would fault Lara more, bc he fought much more passively.
And bc its the story of Lara's career. Fight passively, make a fight that you should win, or could win close, then get a L or a draw and complain about the result.
Lara has a special talent for turning a W into a disputed L.
Jacobs doesn't have history of doing this. He may be kicking himself because if he just did a bit more, he would be considered a p4per right now. But he was in with THE MOST FEARED KO artist in boxing, so its understandable.
Like someone mentioned, Jacobs star probably rose with this fight. Meanwhile Lara is going on what, 5 years of complaining about his career.
