Stop lying with the number khan did 600k, you left out canelo doing 900k with cotto. 2.2m with Floyd. Drew almost 300k on his worst day with unknown fighter. Against a bigger draw then khan it will easily do more then 600k.
He did 400k. 250 vs smith and 300 vs lara.
When he's not in with a star, he can't draw for anything. Bottom line.
750-800k in my mind. It's a major Mexican holiday featuring the BEST CURRENT Mexican in Canelo (sorry Miley is too inactive) and arguably the most famous Mexican name (and top 10 boxing names ever). Also these guys aren't "boxers". They go for the K.O.
Plus this fight has bigger intentions all.over it. Canelo fans can see how he holds up at a bigger weight against a much larger foe. Is he still fast? Strong? Tough? Durable?
Meanwhile Chavez gets a lottery ticket at career revitalization. This fight has action written all the **** over it.
750-800k and I'll likely be 1 of those. Dat HD quality yo :D
Mikey ain't even a real Mexican like Canelo
I will be if they do that.
A huge draw doesn't do 250k PPV buys, or 300 vs Lara or 400 vs Khan.
He's simply not that much of a draw.

Not a huge fight ? Canelo isn't a huge draw ? I believe u'll be humbled when the near 900 K numbers come out .

They say the same thing every time.
It's not a huge fight and Canelo isn't a huge draw. Neither is chavez

Khan vs Canelo made 27 million dollars. Not a draw? Chavez sold 450k vs Martinez but not a draw? I'm in Dallas it's about 30 percent Mexican, Canelo drew 51k here for a reason.
I said not a huge draw.
These two once fought on the same nigh in Vegas...about a mile away from each other.
Chavez JR-Martnez was sold out to the rafters and got like 450k PPV buys and Canelo-Lopez fight pulled 1 million on Showtime and sold 13k tickets. Of course this was before Chavez lost a couple of times and insulted fans-- but I don't think people will be able to resist this spectacle.
I'm going to guess 800k-900k
But there's nothing to suggest those numbers will come back now that he's fighting on HBO.
His last few performances have been poor and not many people are giving him a chance in this one.
He's more well known than Liam Smith so the fight should do much better numbers than 300K. But I'm not sure he's an intriguing enough opponent for it to do 600K.
I disagree the intrigue is that these men flat out hate each others guts. Fans have dreamt about them fighting for over half a decade. Their camps hate each other. Chavez not only hates Canelo but he hates his promoter who he is still butt hurt over for beating his daddy twice and making his quit on his stool. Chavez Sr because of these beatings hates Oscar and hates Canelo because he took the spotlight he wanted for his son. The story lines between Canelo/Chavez, Chavez/DeLaHoya are endless. And while everyone agrees Canelo is the more skilled fighter Chavez is legit 2 weight classes bigger then Canelo and is one 1 big shot away from upsetting Canelo. Canelo has never felt the power of a 160lb fighter let alone one who has fought above 170 no way to know how he will handle that. And their styles make for an exciting fight, neither guy wants to dance or run. Chavez wants to come forward and Canelo doesn't want to chase he wants you to come at him so he can light you up with counter punches.
Last it's on Cinco de mayo a night fans have been programed to get drunk and order Boxing PPVs
Everybody numbers on showtime right now are in the toilet I think that's more on Showtime losing viewership ever since Haymon created PBC and took fighters away from Showtime. Now they coming back and all doing half what they used to. When Chavez was fighting on HBO before he signed with Haymon look at his ratings best ratings of any NON PPV fights and this was AFTER he lost to Sergio. His numbers tanked because of moving to Showtime.
