Devon is one of those quick rise, slow fall stories...
Early on it seemed as though he had the tools to make a major statement @ 140 but he ultimately fell short...
Bradley proved that he belonged in there with the elites.
Neither became the crossover star.
Bradley will end up being a borderline Hall of Famer....
I remember it well. I though Alexander had a good chance to win but the fight wasn't even close. Bradley showed a great will to win and Alexander didn't. Alexander never became as good a fighter as I though he would and now he seems to get worse with every fight. Bradley has had a few off nights but he always trains hard and fights hard. I think he will be a hall of famer. Only Pacquiao has been able to beat him.
He signed with Arum after he was promised Pac then fought the ghost of Casamayor and said what if I lose regarding fighting Khan.
He also wasn't to keen on fighting Devon before he was humiliated by Kotelnik.
I do recall him mentioning "if the money is right" in regards to the Alexander fight.....but it got made.
You think he ducked Kahn? I've never known him to duck anyone. I'm asking legitimately because it doesn't seem like Bradley would pull a duck.

Yea I remember Khan beat Maidana in a barnstormer then Bradley Alexander winner was supposed to fight Khan. Bradley won in a stinker then ducked Khan
LOL

I mean, it wasn't the fight, but it was a big fight at the time, and both were considered a tier below Manny/Floyd at the time, and Bradley proved he was, Devon, on the other hand, later proved he wasn't.
Bradley has beaten an insane number of champs/former and he only has 2 losses, both to an ATG.
Bruh. People underrate him because he has overachieved given his expectations. He just had the hunger
I agree. He definitely stepped up to fight whoever was the guy.
I want to see him in there now against say a Shawn Porter. I think that would be a good fight.

Devon could have been a 3 division champ but he lacks the hunger. He had a brother killed and a brother do 12 years in prison so you'd think he'd go a bit harder in the ring. Nicest guy you'll ever meet though.
No doubt. He seemed to be a boxer that was easy to work with. Overcame a lot as you mentioned. He's only 29, so he may be one of those fighters who gets another chance sometime later down the road. Maybe the spark will hit em' and he'll be ready!!
That fight turned out to be one of the worst fights in recent memory.
Alexander can still recover, but it seems like he needs a trainer and fresh start. He has all the other tools.
I think Bradley has had a very good career considering his actual talent. He beat everyone at 140 Vazquez, Witter, Campbell, Holt, Abregu, Peterson and Alexander. His run at 147 wasn't as good but still very good, Provodnikov, Marquez coming off the Pacquiao KO win, Chavez and Vargas. I think he has done very well for himself, headlined a number of PPVs and made much more money than other more talented fighters. He willed his way into a lot of victories and he deserves the money and recognition that he has, never had the character to be a superstar but he still made good money regardless.
Again, things went almost perfect for him considering his talent.
100
Bradley is definitely in the Hall of Fame category. The names you mention brought back memories. Bradley went over to enemy territory to beat Witter. He was about that life.
Alexander fail pretty quickly if you ask me. You can be boring,we've seen boring fighters carve out a niche in the sport. You can't be boring and have additional undesirable qualities. That yelp made him unwatchable; good riddance.
I never bought into that fight. It was 2 boring fighters who lacked the charisma to captivate the audience. I mean it was 2 good fighters and I knew Bradley was going to be good but it was just one of those fights I couldn't get excited about.
