Of course he's an ATG. If Erik Morales is no ATG, who is? He has beaten Barrera and Pacquiao in their primes. Both are all time greats as well. Erik Morales is the very definition of an ATG. He's the real deal. He's the ****. of course he is. The only people that discredit him are stupid idiots on this forum who want to discredit Pacs resume. So petty.

According to some posters here, Morales and Barrera are overrated and not as great as Diego Corrales. Corrales vs those though what great fights they would be.

No question about it. He may have been a dick, but what a great fighter.

People that discredit Pacquiao would probably say not an ATG because by claiming Morales as an ATG would elevate Pacquiao's win even more. Despite the fact that Morales fought Pacquiao and beat him ( Though Pacquiao at that time was still a 1 handed fighter) And still went on to have two more titles in two different weight classes. It's hard, what's the definition of ATG, is it top 20 fighters? Top 50? Top 100?. I'm just going to make up my own definition. For me top 50 are ATG. Top 100 is great. In that case he is a Great

Pacquiao wasn't in his prime. He wasn't developed yet. It was right after his loss to Morales that was the final step of his transformation.

Of course, hes one of the greatest mexican boxers of his era. His rivalry with barrera was one of the most legendary in boxing history.

Hall of famer,,, but can't really call him a true atg.. No way can I put him on the same level as a Sanchez, duran, manny, Armstrong, etc exactly.......someone like sanchez is a ATG even manny. Morales is a first ballet HOF.

I think the one big black mark on Morales' record is his pretty one sided loss to Raheem. That almost puts him borderline for me, but then again that was at lightweight, and as I said previously he was not at his best anymore at 130 and above. its never easy for a fighter who is aggressive with good power, to beat a bigger faster more elusive fighter Raheem was very talented, and his style was all wrong for Morales, who did better when his opponents came to him or when he could box in spots

of course he is He was a perennial p4p entrant....he had world class skills and heart beat ATG, HOFer, and many world champions I could see him being competitive in an featherweight era....even the 70s(loaded)....40s(loaded with pep, saddler, chalky wright, archibald, etc he'd have been a champion or one of the best in any era from 122-126 too bad the wars caught up to him in his late 20s...he had a lot of tough fights back to back his last great win was the Pacquaio win, and he finished the fight in typical morales machismo!!

For ATG's - I always think could he have competed with the elite of any era in his weight division? Against any Super-bantamweight or featherweight era in history? Could he have beaten a good portion of them? I think the answer to all 3 questions is yes. I think at super-featherweight he was not an ATG. But at the two weight divisions below and judged as a whole? For sure I think he is. There are fighters at those weights who accomplished more, and maybe a handful that would beat him head to head, but I would say less than 5 that could claim both.
