Rankings at #7. Now he is not only a two weight champion but officially a p4p fighter too.. In only 7 fights!! Talk of a Lightweight push soon too..
Happy days :)
Why doesn't Loma fight like 5 fights a year... Call up all big names around you and knock them down.. He'll reach ATG status almost immediately.
Cause nobody is paying his guarantee 5x a year. Hbo would probably do 2, which is why Arum is talking Ppv. Not big time Ppv, more like Latin Fury
p4p is overated cause we will never most of them fight each other to really see whos the best fighter period, for example roman can keep his #1 spot cause he has no real competition but if he fought loma who knows what would happen, i just cant take p4p lists serious, its basically a top 10 of someones favorite fighters.
Transnational Boxing's update has it :
Gonzalez
Kovalev
Golovkin
Estrada
Ward
Bradley
Crawford
Rigo
Inoue
Canelo
On Loma, they say this :
''At P4P, Vasyl Lomachenko was proposed to enter into the #10 spot, bumping out Naoya Inoue. It was defeated. Lomachenko looks like a P4P fighter right now, but his accomplishments haven’t caught up to the hype –not yet anyway.''
I don't get it. Everyone who hated GGG to be on the list are happy to see Loma there, because of what? the eye test? the screen skills? or 7 major fights?
And to add that he lost one fight out of seven and beat an average opponent in Martinez.
I don't understand this hypocrisy. Resume doesnt matter when you have your favorite on the list.
Exactly what I'm saying. Let the man build his resume first. I didn't even rate Ward high on the list until the Froch and Dawson wins even when everybody else wanted to anoint him first. I've seen too many busts, upsets and screw ups for me to prematurely rank somebody so highly.
If he beats Salido in the rematch (convincingly) there is no doubt he will top P4P
He's gonna wreck Salido in the rematch, Loma had him hurt and ready to go in the last round of the 1st match.
That match showcased Loma's talents despite the fact he lost, he managed to adapt to an unknown fighting style from a much bigger man who was fouling him all night, and was working pretty well for him, but it was too late.
In the rematch Loma will know how to deal with Salido from the get go and will destroy him
He's currently rated #7 which is > Canelo (#8).
as far as i can tell, lomachenko wasn't rated anywhere on ring's p4p until he knocked out martinez. and i don't think you need that win, which was shocking and impressive obviously, to rank him above canelo.
He looked outstanding knocking out Martinez. He looks better and better with each pro fight. As another poster said the ring has gone down hill since Oscar, the conflict of interest promoter, became the owner of the magazine. I do agree with their high ranking of Loma. I think he keeps right on winning in convincing style.
myself and another poster did i believe
skillwise he is p4p for sure, but resume is just as important if not more important than eye test. Anyone can look like the next ATG fighting guys levels below then.
I can see why he is there but as time goes on, I dont even pay attention to publications p4p lists anymore...too much politics, and it is often used to hype up golden boy fighters or upcoming or prospective opponents
I have my own p4p list and I weigh resume a lot heavier than some on here, with exceptions. Loma may be an acception....we see his skills and having Martinez, and Russell on a ledger with less than ten fights is awesome
He and Inoue are on the cusp, i go back and forth on putting them in mine. Talent wise they are there, just have to get the resume.

You better get accustomed to see him there, Loma's not leaving that list until he retires

he should be. that kid is f#cking incredible. that they'd have the balls to have the 155 lb champ, canelo, ahead of lomachenko on a p4p list is hysterical.
lomachenko can easily be argued into the top 5.
gonzalez
kovalev
golovkin
ward
lomachenko.
i think lomachenko even fits in there above ward, but i'm giving it to ward based on his track record, and the idea that he should be getting better as he adjusts to 175 and gets back into fighting regularly after several years as a part timer.
He's currently rated #7 which is > Canelo (#8).
I don't pay any mind to p4p stuff, but that kid has a boatload of talent. Easily one of the most gifted fighters out there.
It took him a little bit but you can now that he is adjusting to the pro game since Russ Anber joined his team. He is sitting down on his punches more often.

The Ring lost credibility once Golden Boy Promotions bought them. I will agree though that Loma is one of the top 10 in the world, don't need the ring to tell me that, dude is a beast
Even though I'd still argue his competition isn't worthy, it's hard to watch the man fight and not think he's worthy. Dude is really good and getting better.
rankings never make any sense. corrales who had fought at 130 many times just destroyed undefeated uchiyama who was ranked #1 and corrales is only ranked #5. loma has one fight in the division and he beat rocky martinez who was coming off a loss and he's at #3 in the division?
:lol1:
F*cking rich coming from you mate.
