Yes I think he can beat canelo with his speed. Canelo is too slow to catch pac.
Yes but with him being so big, you don't need to catch him as much since most hits will have some good impact.
Doubt he can be 9 division champ Can't see him going for a Canelo fight. But if he fought Canelo at 155 and won, that's an amazing achievement.

Go back and read BennyST's posts, neither Bradley or Pacquiao had beaten a ranked WW in over 2 years. #1 and #2 ranked? GTFO :lol1:
Isn't it the Thurman's and maidanas of this world who've never beat any ranked ww's like ever and aren't p4p ranked for a reason? They've never beat anyone, unless you count beating broner 3 years ago as something special? Or maybe brook is no1 for beating porter? Gettouttahere
An unbelievable achievement but I think he can still be the 9 division champion if he wants to.
I thought he was a 32 time world champion?

Ring, Fight News, Boxrec didn't. Three of the most followed. They weren't clear 1 and 2, it wasn't for lineal.
PAC and Bradley have been top ten p4p for donkeys years. Course they were it was lineal
5 division lineal champion.... Now THATs a tremendous accomplishment.
The 8 division title holder is kind of wack though. I don't give much credence to alphabet titles. I'm more concerned if you beat THE MAN during your run in that particular division.
What? No, not at all and that's not even my argument. I never mentioned any of those guys so...? I'm saying there is no lineage now and that certainly wasn't the fight that proved a new one. That's all.
With Mayweather having retired, the whole division is a mess now with no clear order and hardly any of the top guys fighting each other. That doesn't mean you just throw together a fight with anyone and declare it a lineal championship though. It'll take time to establish one as it usually does when the old one retires.
It's not just who we think should be the next guy in line. It's who proves it and no one has proved it yet and it'll probably take a while until the top guys start actually fighting each other for it to be proven. Pac hasn't actually proven he's the best with the retirement of Floyd. He's had one fight toward doing so now, but his last fight was against a unranked Jr welterweight, and before that just an unranked fighter full stop, none of which proves anything toward establishing who the top guy is at 147. The whole point of the lineal title is who proves they are the best by beating the man, or by establishing dominance over the other top contenders in the wake of retirement. It's not just who people say is the best.
Reminds me of when Hagler lost to Leonard, then Leonard retired. The 160 'lineal champion' didn't get reestablished for years and there was lots of mess then too. Nunn eventually got recognition for it with his KO of Kalambay. In cases like that someone has to come along and actually make a consensus case for it, not beat one top fiveish guy and be crowned.
-It wasn't a fight with "anyone", it was hands down the two most accomplished fighters in the division. Bradley isn't a top "fiveish" guy.
-Pac was clear as day #2 going into May 2, and I don't see how losing to the longstanding #1 would lower your rating. After #1 retires it is reasonable to me for the #2 to assume the #1 position.
These guys are ranked 1 and 2 by TBRB, ESPN, the scene, but not the Ring. So not quite consensus but close. Makes sense, cause even Bradley has done more at welter than the next 3 guys put together
I don't even really see the argument against this fight having started a new lineage. When the prior lineal champ retires, it's not necessarily supposed to be the case that the new lineal champ would beat the old one. To me it's clear Pacquiao is #1 at WW and that he beat the next available WW.
BennyST's argument doesn't convince me because you can deconstruct everyone at WW's resume at the moment the same way. Are you gonna say that Garcia is #1 for beating Guerrero & Malignaggi? Maybe you think Brook is #1 because he beat Kevin Bizier & Frankie Gavin? How about Porter coming off of Broner & Bone? Thurman off of Collazo and Guerrero? Khan for Algieri & Alexander?
Point is - the top WWs haven't fought top opponents recently. They just aren't fighting each other. The best win of that bunch is Khan over Alexander, but barely scraping by Algieri wasn't exactly a superb showing.
And if Pacquiao does keep fighting, he probably won't become the lineal Ring champ since that would mean fighting Brook instead of Arum's much preferred Vargas. The WBO international or whatever belt was not on the line by accident, Arum wanted the winner vs Vargas.

Yep, you sure were. At least you can admit it.

Yeah, good one mate. Tampons... Burn.
I wrote that he was coming off of 4 fights, and listed them in order of oldest to newest. You just didnt read more than two words before acting like a prick with the 'Floyd ****' bull**** when no one brought Floyd up except you. What did Floyd have to do with anything here?
Apart from the fact that he was the old champion, no one was talking about him or mentioning him. You just randomly start throwing out 'Floyd ***' insults in a post about Pac and Bradley and expect cordiality in return?
You fanboys are so obsessed with the guy that you bring him into every thread even when he's not being talked about, or you throw out the super witty '*****s' and 'Floyd ****' stuff randomly to anyone that doesn't worship the fighter you adore like a little high school girl.
You act like a little *****, you get slapped down like one.
Tampon changed.
Everyone knows you're a Floyd nuthugger, cmon son.
Hey, you got me. I was ignorant on the matter. This post was informative. albeit anal.
Yep, you sure were. At least you can admit it.
When talking boxing, "coming off" usually pertains to your last showings i.e last fight, or two. Not 4 fights back, 2 years ago. On the subject of the Lineal title you have your point, but I was taking it at face value i.e Bradley was not coming off a loss to Pacquiao, but a win over Vargas and Rios.
You can change your tampon now, lol.

The standard BennyST is offering is arbitrary and eliminates everyone at WW from being considered the best WW at the moment. That doesn't make sense to me when it seems apparent that Pacquiao and Bradley are the most accomplished of the bunch.
The weird thing is Guerrero never beat a top 10 WW either, to be fair. Aydin and Berto were not top 10 WW's, just dangerous WW's at the time for a Lightweight coming up, but not top 10.
Yep, agreed. The whole thing is just weird. I can't stand when they just randomly start making stuff up out of thin air and fake rules.
