I don't see Ward getting past that jab. It's not only rangy but it's a very hard jab, upstairs and downstairs. It's going to be very tough working around it, because forget working through it. I hope Andre plans on bringing more than he did tonight because he wouldn't last 8 rounds with what he showed against Barrera.

I figured after may PAC you guys would stop going FULL retard and acting like the outcome is 100%, then end up looking like an idiot and making excuses. Not sure why it's so hard to just back a fighter without looking like an idiot in the process
Not that I disagree or agree but I see this sort of thread every single time, but when or if the fight happens then he wins easily it would be another thread about how he ran or clinch.
I agree with you

Hmm feeling hurt by that post? wow i repeat that point again. Put me on your Ignore list if you want to mate. At least i would not see excuses if Ward wins now that i have pointed that out...I see this all that time, by the way am picking Kovalev to win.:peeright:
Only a fool would be hurt by a fool's words.
What intrigues me most is, even if Ward blocks Kovalev's punches, they're still gonna hurt. I can't see Ward being nearly as active as he was last night, whereas Kovalev will.
The obvious thought for a Ward victory is the typical (illegal) spoiling tactics that he's known to use - clinch, short left hook or jab, rinse and repeat. But Kovalev is a big light heavyweight, I really can't see him pulling it off with success that often. Theres no way Ward will fight on the outside, or mid-range. Kovalev can box - maybe not as well as Ward, but you don't need to in order to land something significant. Whilst its definitely intriguing, I can't help but think its going to be extremely boring
The difference in punching power is going to be huge. Kovalev will sap the life out of Ward by just beating on his body.
Stick more to the topic at hand. Thanks.

i dont know man everyone forgets andre gonna be able tag kovalev as well i think krusher might be too slow but regardless what the ward fans say which i am one and krusher fans say its a dam good fight and style wise it dont get much better. One thing is kovalev will be way bigger u would think
Ward's best weapon will be those counter hooks, but if Kovalev stays behind that jab, those opportunities will be diminished. I could just see Ward's body taking a beating.
Yeah, it'll be a good night of boxing. November is a long way away. Let's hope it doesn't fall into the 2017 schedule..
Ward's jab is better than Kova's.
I hope Ward takes this fight in clear fashion, 9-3/8-4 kinda fight. Kova fights at a measured pace, he's not a pressure fighter and I hope that means Ward will have time to think and execute what he wants to do.
Hopefully TR stop ****ing around with Gvozdyk and Mekhontsev cos I wanna see them boys mix it up with Ward and Kova.

I did not see an especially good jab from Ward tonight, and even against the short Abraham, Arthur's jab was bothering him early on until Ward started jabbing to the body - something of which Kovalev is very good at, but with a lot more power. Ward will not want to trade jabs with Kovalev.

Well you would expect Ward to be thinking a lot more against Kovalev. More alert and cautious. He won't fight the same as he did tonight.
If he does fight like he did tonight and take jabs like he did, then he's in a world of trouble.
Tonight just showed what I've always thought of Ward. A very good fighter, but he's no Hopkins or Jones like people try to act like he is. He's going to try to force his will on Sergey and will be beaten down in the process.
ANY LHW C level and up beats Ward. Barrera was a D- level fighter and still Ward couldnt get him out of there. And elite fighter like Kovalev absolutely destroys him.
