Most of his finishes have come from devastating left hands. He was also the resident boxing trainer at his mma gym. Obviously the guy would get wiped at world level, but how do you think he would fair with the likes of Mike Alvardo?
I just can't imagine Alvarado beating Conor
Alvarado himself is a UFC-level striker just like the guys Conor embarrasses every fight
Maybe worse lately... Look at his shadow boxing man it's obvious he's running 90% on toughness 10% on anything else
What happened to the knowledgeable boxing fans around here? Seriously guys saying this guy could beat Alvarado or Ortiz?
MMA is not necessarily harder to train because there are more disciplines. Just gives you more things to try if you're **** at something else. In boxing, If you're no good with your hands.. you cant box, period!
Jack of all trades, master of none.

He reminds me of an MMA version cuz of the straight left and the way he jumps in and out. But he also reminds me of Margarito cuz he's so big for a featherweight, puts crazy pressure from the beginning and has a great chin.
I would love to see him box. About getting schooled at world class level who knows. MMA requires a lot more skill than boxing simply because there are more arts to know and master. I'm not a
Fan of MMA but I admit it's harder than boxing.
He wouldn't do crap...be c level at best...look at the opponents defense, his technique is not great either...horrible

He has an extensive boxing background so from an MMA perspective he's really good and he definitely has power but well schooled technical boxers would beat him, he gets sloppy at times as he can afford to against MMA fighters.
He may lose to the top 10 but saying he'd get knocked out by **** fighters is laughable. He uses small gloves to fight and as most boxers including Floyd have said, MMA fighters are tough. It will be tough to KO him. Anyone saying otherwise is just an MMA hater. Kicks, elbows and knees hurt a lot more than punches. I'm an amateur boxer but used to kickbox for a little while. I'll be honest, I couldn't hack the kicks so converted.
What an absolutely idiotic thread. If he stepped into the ring right now he would get KO'd by pretty much anyone ranked top 200.
That's BS. He's a big southpaw that's never been dropped with MMA gloves. He wouldn't beat the top guys but top 200 is a massive over exaggeration.
I'm pretty sure gloves were introduced to protect fighters hands and so the fighter can load up and generate more power. They were first introduced to create more knockouts and the padding doesn't help protect an opponents face at all.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
I think he could be a champion in boxing. Obviously if he was competing as a boxer, his training would focus on that and his game would reflect that. He obviously has unusual talent, skill, and KO power.
Victor Ortiz would ko him
That would be an intriguing match-up! I'd be pretty tempted to put my money on McGregor folding him though, Victor doesn't have the mental toughness to compete with McGregor and I question if he still has the skill.
He'd be huge for his weight class which would give him a big advantage. Aside from that I don't know. I mean we don't even know how legit his power is because of the gloves they use in MMA.
they don't even wear shoes.
what they do when they stand and use their hands is hardly boxing. hardly.
I have no reason to think he'd be as good a boxer as he is at MMA per se. For one, his competition would be vastly different in terms of their experience and background is concerned. Second, he would have no access to many of things he does in an MMA ring that might have set up those finishes, even if those finishes were themselves delivered via fists. Then there are the differences in gloves, how refs in boxing respond to clinches versus mma etc.. it's just a different working environment.
But all that said I doubt he'd be terrible, I mean he's clearly a great athlete and all, just can't necessarily see him as being at the top the way he is in MMA.
he has good power in mma coz they use tiny ass gloves.
big gloves = more cushion = less power
and also because his opponents got **** hands
hes not big for his weight class in boxing, 5'9 145 is average. hes big for mma weight class.

What is his weight class? Google say 5' 9" 145lbs? Is that true? That's not a big WW, that's normal sized. Even if he balloons up to 160-165 on fight, that's like Ortiz, Berto, Maidana type of size.
I think he walks around between 170-175 lbs
