What a phenomenal fight, N'Dam's chin and recovery powers are superhuman. Tremendous courage and bravery but Lemiuex's power is ridiculous. A unification with Golovkin is what I want next although I favour GGG it is bound to be fireworks as both guys hit like a ton of bricks. Those left hooks made my head hurt. Despite the 4 knockdowns, N'Dam held his own and buzzed Lemieux in 12th and final round.
Scorecards
115-109 X2
114-110 X1
Key Points
-Lemieux lack of ability to cut off the ring was a little exposed
-N'Dam will cause anyone problems
-Lemieux throws every punch with mean intentions and shows that offence is the best defence
My strongest FOTY candidate alongside Salido-Martinez and Matthysse-Provodnikov. Those of you who chose to watch Ward-Smith instead missed out big time. HBO are retarded for passing up this fight and I feel bad that both guys only made $55,000 each.
It's shocking that hbo passed on this fight.... The winner is an ideal Golovkin opponent, so you would think hey would have aired this fight to build up a Golovkin opponent
Or they don't want GGG to face the winner of the fight although it would be the best fight for him now, Lemieux is a decent opponent and he has the IBF title now. Let's hope that GGG doesn't duck Lemieux and vice versa, would love to see this unification bout in November or December, gonna be a great fight.
Businesswise though, if I was Dela Hoya, I would first make Lemieux fight Canelo to keep that money in house since he's promoting both guys then the winner fights GGG.
It seems it was due to the current legal situation with GYM, Golden Boy and Lemieux that it wasn't on HBO.
This fight was actually pretty close outside the knockdowns as the scorecards indicated, I had it 114-110 like one of the judges. N'Dam hit Lemieux with quite a lot of punches throughout the fight and really closed the fight well. I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch.
I didn't really think it was s great fight nor a fight of the year csnndidate. I saw s one sided beat down and turned it off in the 10th. Unless N'Dam scored dome KDs after I turned it off, he had minimal success. As expected.
...Round 12 is where N'Dam did the most damage. Man, history is made in the last moments of a sporting event, why do people leave early?

Great fight.
N'Dam has good skill but his chin is a calamity. He has good recovery powers and heart though. He's clearly a far more talented fighter than Lemieux.Huh? How is he more talented. He doesn't punch with authority and was running through out the fight. The scoring by rounds was a joke as he barely won any rounds in my book. Yet if Lemieux didn't get 10-7 rounds he would have pipped this guy?
Great fight. Wasn't there talk of Lemieux vs Quinlan?

They both deserved more than 55k.
Lemieux didnt edge Ndam, he freaken shut him out! You say a fighter edged someone out when the fight was close and this fight was not close to being close. It was a one sided win for Lemieux and the only thing Ndam was successful at was surviving cause other then that Lemieux did everything he pleased to him. It was a great entertaining fight and i was glad to see Lemieux win in such dominant fashion. I look forward to his next fight.
Those scores are too one sided to say Lemieux edged him. I watched the fight and I though Lemieux beat the hell out of N'Dam with 4, count them 4 knockdowns. N'Dam was always brave and trying to win but I could only find maybe 2 rounds I could give to him. Lemieux chased him most of the fight and landed far more punches and much harder punches. That N'Dam was still on his feet at the end is a tribute to his courage and toughness and he did stun Lemieux a few times but I thought it was a very one sided fight. Lemieux is one hell of a two handed puncher and he goes after guys like a madman.
I never thought Lemieux would ever win a strap, I always considered him a c or D fighter. He has shown improvements though. His defense is still terrible, but he does have a better chin than I thought.
With careful management he might get in a couple successful defenses. He moved past the point of prospect/journeyman and made it to contender status. Good for him as he is a fun fighter to watch.
Lemieux pretty much controlled the majority of the first 9 rounds with his power & activity. But his energy level dropped by the 10th and he wasn't able to sustain an attack on N'Dam there after. Maybe the long layoff contributed, but he needs to work on changing up the power on his shots.
I'm cool with Lemieux/N'Dam rematch, or Lemieux vs Johnson, Heiland, or Monroe (HBO says they want him back in the fall). Face reality, Golovkin/Lemieux is a year away.
What is with those scores? I basically saw Ndam winning probably 2-3 rounds, and those were the last two rounds. Very fun fight but what the hell? Much better fight than that ***** thing over on PBC.
