Eddie Hearn relays an interesting story of a recent conversation with Carl Froch.
Froch told Hearn that he was at home this week and decided to do 6 rounds on the punching bag in his garage to knock off the cobwebs. After just one round, Froch felt very unfit and lacking any sharpness. He glanced up over his punching bag at a picture of himself and Kessler, perhaps one of the more memorable moments for Froch as he avenged that disputed loss.
Under his breath, Froch muttered "f**k this", ripped off his wraps, went back inside to the warmth of his living room and relaxed with a hot cup of tea.
Froch's motivation levels to keep boxing continue to dwindle and appear to be at an all-time low. Even though the Golovkin fight does interest him it might not prove to be quite tempting enough to lure the Cobra back into the squared circle.
Golovkin will make all the right noises about moving up to face Froch, and will sign on to fight Les Sherrington.
Sherrington's the next opponent Ward's fighting after Paul Smith.
Really hope we'll get just one last from the Cobra, I wouldn't even mind him taking a tuneup gambling for GGG in '16. Even though chances are extremely slim, GGG ain't gonna move up.

I recall him saying that he was at fighting weight, or nearly, during May-Pac week, but nothing about him being in the shape of his life.
Yep. He walks around at about 175. He doesn't blow up in weight - everyone knows that.
Best shape of his life though? He couldn't even be arsed to do two rounds on the heavy bag.
It's funny but I'm not going to kick someone when they're down. Froch doesn't feel like he's up for the task? That's cool, but yeah, that's where the bravado should end unless he wants to make a fool of himself.
Kick someone when they're down? :lol1:
I'm sure Froch is super down and depressed about his career where hes literally fought everyone in his era in his division. And even started on the next era. I'm sure hes crying into his pillow about making £9million for his last fight, having a 10 for a Missus and the respect of all true boxing fans who have followed his career.
Froch is down doe! No I think its your hero that's "down" as another unwarranted handout payday slips away from him. Now who's he gonna fight? Lara is there but I'm guessing we'll see Chudinov. The leftovers of a Froch sparring partner :lol1:
How does that make me a golovtard haha? Funny because I saw an interview on youtube with Carl Froch saying he is feeling in the best shape of his life, would want Golovkin more then anything as a comeback fight and that he would beat him at his own game.
When did he ever say he was "in the best shape of his life"? He hasn't boxed or trained properly in over a year. :pat:
He also never said it would be a " walk in the park".
Froch seems like a man who would train if there wasnt a fight, so i dont see him retiring yet.
One more fight against the winner of GGG and Degale. Saves Froch from having to beat both of them.
It's embarrassing because Froch started trash talking GGG as if he was getting ready for a fight. But then Golovkin took him up on it and that sent Froch into a period of deep reflection where he seems to have decided that it would be better to retire than to get a serious beating. He would have looked much better if he had made this decision before the trash talk, he would have gone out like a warrior. Now? Not so much.
You make it sound like it's Golovkin or retirement but Froch doesn't have to fight Golovkin if he comes back, he could just as easily choose to fight DeGale without any complaints.
To me it sounds like Froch likes the fame, attention and adulation but if Hearn is to be listened to, he just isn't all that keen on the work anymore. He could surprize us and keep fighting though, who knows.
None of that even happened. Golovtards working themselves into a frenzy :lol1:

If anything that just hurt his retirement legacy a little bit. You don't just present yourself in the best shape of your life, call out the most dominant middleweight right now, say it is a walk in the park and then just retire. Pitiful but I'm not surprised

I thought you didn't read my posts :lol1:
How is that "trash talk". Froch is obviously confident he can win the fight but hes always shown Golovkin plenty of respect and admiration
You're just a sensitive little sissy who gets butthurt whenever anyone doesn't fellate Golovkin. You're 58 years old. Grow up pops
What "trash" has Carl Froch ever talked about Golovkin?

“If I fight Golovkin, I will back up, take what he’s got, and beat him up.”

Ummm that was because Groves went to IBF and forced his hand. Froch was more than content on moving on.
Waiting for you to deflect by bringing in Khan.
That was for the rematch. The first time he fought him as a mandatory which Calzaghe never did for him.
Nothing wrong with what Joe did but suggesting Froch is a hypocrite is laughable.
