Gennady Golovkin at 168- who beats him?

That's why he's calling out Mayweather and Canelo, a welterweight and JMW. Cause there are so many money fights at 160. Please. Ward and Froch would generate more money than anyone at 160 excluding Cotto. Canelo can't even make LMW, he is fighting at MW already, even though his influence and popularity allows him to fight at the canelo weight. Also last i heard Floyd has a belt at 154, thats where GGG would move down to face Floyd. What's wrong about "dreaming" to fight the #1 p4p fighter at a weight where this guy is champion? Carl Froch already declined the fight even though GGG would travel right into Froch's backyard for the fight. Froch doesn't want to leave boxing getting destroyed by TripleG. Ward is fighting at 172 and him and specially his team made it clear he is not ready at all to face GGG anytime soon. He needs a "couple" tuneups, who knows if he can even make 168? Until then he will be making Abrahams leftovers move to LHW to face him in his backyard in Oakland. Also where do you get the funny idea from that Ward generates alot of money? A wet dream? People say GGG has to move up but there aren't any fights out there at 168 right now, none of the top fighters are interested in fighting GGG anytime soon or they have others fights upcoming. If there was a big fight looming GGG would move up, but right now he will be waiting what happens with the Cotto/Canelo situation, both of them would be bigger fights than anything at 168.

Nobody at 168 has a chance against GGG except for Ward and that fight is 50/50. That's the irony of GGG haters/xenophobes wanting him to move up, citing MW is a bad division. SMW is just as bad.

None of Ward's fans seem to have a clue about what is going on in boxing today. If Ward really wants to fight Golovkin, he should ask his mega rich promoter to approach GGG's team with an offer he cannot refuse. Offer him 3 or 5 million to fight Ward. It would be his biggest payday by far and he would never turn it down. If Ward is that much of a superstar for Roc Nation, it would be a small price to pay to get Ward back out there in the view of fight fans against the current monster of the sport. If Ward is so confident of beating him, and RN have confidence in their star fighter, make the offer and get the fight done. It would be pocket change for Jay Z. and it would put Roc Nation Boxing immediately on the map.

GGG is a small Middleweight and if there were enough challenges in his division- he would rule 160 for as long as he's active and if he had the chance he would most definitely own all belts/be undisputed-lineal champ of the division. But these fights aren't happening. I agree with some posters that Monroe Jr IS the best possible opponent for the stay-busy date of June 12th, etc. The problem is how long are we going to keep saying this? This has been going on for 2 years now. The whole "Top 15 fighter A __ was the best available opponent who was willing to fight on this date ___" When is HBO/GGG's team going to stop taking advantage of his growing fame and GET him a big fight by moving up to 168. I'll say this one LAST stay-busy fight against Monroe is OK because they're waiting for Cotto and that's the only fight left for him at 160. If they get Cotto next, then fine. No problems. But if they don't..... are people here really going to be okay with his team following the same "GGG-model" for one more year? Golovkin beats everyone from 160-168 and he's one of only two fighters in the entire world who could beat Andre Ward. (Kovalev). Does his team not realize how much credit a small MW like GGG would receive-historically, by cleaning out 168? Which is what he would do, IMO. Cotto or Canelo can be next after either one loosses or wins, doesn't matter. AT 160 is where the names and the money are, he would be an idiot to move up to 168, GGG is as big as Canelo, he's small for that weight. He will stay at 160, If he wins and hopefully fear makes Cotto vacate, or If Canelo wins, hopefully he gets in the ring with him after they fight. You know how many 168lb'ers would kill to be able to make 160-(maybe)154, that's where the money is at.

ggg is a great fighter, but I doubt he beats ward. I think he would hurt cotto though. In my opinion, I think cotto should fight this last fight and retire. These old champions are babysitting these titles. I believe they should start stepping aside and let these young guys compete with each other. Time for the new guys to step up now. There is no one in boxing right now that is a guarantee to beat GGG, he's that good but I think Ward might have the best chance followed by Degale, Froch or Direll who have a slim possibility to beat him. I wanna see how he takes on Monroe jr who is talented in his own right...maybe a chance for the underdog in this one.

I think there are a number of fights left for GGG at 160... Canelo in the future, Lemieux if he beats N'Dam, Lee, Saunders, Eubank Jr., Andrade in the future if he decides to move up... I see no great contests at 168. Sturm and Abraham ducked him in Germany and certainly will not try their luck now. Dirrell is with Haymon. Maybe Groves or DeGale if they manage to get a title. Ward is pointless at the moment, he is not ready by his own admission and before there is any money in that fight, Ward will have to do a cleaning at SMW. We know he won't fight the Dirrells because they are his 'brothers'. He most likely cannot fight Haymon fighters either. So the pool is small and the same one as GGG would target. That leaves little there. The best thing in my eyes would be for GGG to continue his cleanup at MW and for Ward to get his ass moving and clean up SMW to win all the titles there. Then we can have a true superfight between the undisputed, undefeated unified MW champion and the undisputed, undefeated, unified SMW champion. It would be a first and it would go down in history. The winner could eventually face off against Kovalev in another superfight of undefeated, undisputed, unified champions once Kovalev takes care of business at LHW. Yeah, it's a dream but it's one hell of a good one! Very nice. I pretty much agree with all of this though we probably don't agree on what the final outcome would be. I would add Lara to the list of fights that could be made at 160.

GGG stops Ward before round 6. In fact, the first clean shot Ward gets hit with signals the end of the fight. He would go down and if he is able to continue the ref would be stopping the fight soon after. He could only make it to the next round if it is a late knock down. In that case, he may not answer the bell for the next round. I agree with you. I cannot see Golovkin moving to LHW, it would be simply too much weight for him to gain at this point in his life. I just look at that as a 'dream' possibility, like fighting Floyd. I would not want to see titles at stake in a catchweight fight so I do not even consider that as a possibility. It's also possible that Ward can no longer make 168 and will have to fight Kovalev and will be destroyed. That could also ruin my premise. :) Did you come to that conclusion watching GGG fight that collection of murderous punchers and elite boxers on GGGs resume? GTFOH

Look at how his feet are placed when he got hit, of course he went down. One knockdown in a career doesnt mean anything. Even hopkins was knocked down early in his career. His feet looked he was getting into a normal boxing stance and got cracked.

Ward, Andre Dirrell and DeGale would all be tough fights for Golovkin in my opinion. And Golovkin is by no means a small middleweight.
